This is a YouTube video titled "Don’t let a score control your day #shorts" containing a monologue from September 11, 2023, where the speaker discusses their experience with a $300 sleep-tracking ring. The speaker reflects on how after a year of tracking sleep scores, they prefer to rely on how they feel naturally rather than being influenced by a quantified score each day.
You know what's funny about this $300 ring? Well, besides the fact that I paid $300 for a ring, it actually is supposed to help you sleep better because it tracks your sleep when you're sleeping and tells you what your score is every single morning after you wake up. And it tells you what you should do better the next night to help you sleep better. And sleep's very important. If you don't get good sleep, you eat junk food the next day you feel like, and you ultimately don't perform at your best. But after about a year of wearing this ring, I stopped charging it, and I don't even have it charged at the moment of filming this video, because I would rather wake up every single day without having to track a score to tell me how I feel than I would having a score tell me how I feel. And then that's shaping the rest of my day. So once you track it for a year, you don't have to track it anymore. Just wear it because it looks cool. But don't let a score control the rest of your day.
