How Cole Gordon makes $3M/month with YouTube Ads

Today we're dissecting a YouTube ad that absolutely crushed it. My buddy Cole Gordon's $3 million per month moneymaker. This thing's got over 4.7 million views and turned Cole into a multiple eight figure business owner practically overnight. My name is Brian Montgoda. Let me let you know a little secret here. All of these online gurus out there have it backwards.

Part one, the hook. Cole starts off with a hook that's sharper than my grandma's best kitchen knife. Let me let you in on a little secret here. All of these online gurus have it backwards. Now, why does this work so well? Let me just count the ways. Number one, it's like dangling a juicy steak in front of a hungry dog. What's the secret? Like you want to know, right? Like I got to know. It taps into the growing trend at this time three years ago of people being sick and tired of these online so called fake gurus promising a moon and delivering a rock. And that little beep sound effect at the end with the blurred, you know, you know, motion graphic over his mouth also is like a little slap to your ears, right? It keeps you on your toes and engaged. And then Cole goes straight for the jugular.

So for instance, in order just to make your first 10k a month online, they'll tell you that you got to, you know, become a coach, consultant or an agency, start a drop shipping store or do Amazon FBA or invest in real estate or do wholesaling or build a software. All of this unnecessary stuff. And look, well, all of that can work and does work if you're like me, like I was five years ago when I started off, I was a broke bartender making 18 grand a year working nights and doing something, you know, getting people drunk for a living that ultimately wasn't very fulfilling to me.

So before I keep playing here, I want to highlight a few different things, okay? Number one, right, he goes straight for the jugular. He talks about making 10k a month online, but here's where he's clever, okay? He immediately calls BS on all the typical advice and all the other make money online opportunities that are currently hot and popular, right? Amazon, fba, dropshipping agency, all, all those things he says, you know, hey, all that stuff you've been told by all these other fake gurus, yeah, it's it's. It's garbage, right? And if you're like me, then he goes into the relatability, which is the part two. And I'm going to play it before a little bit so you can get this part again because at this part is very, very key. So let me rewind it just for a second here.

All of this unnecessary stuff and look, well, all of that can work and does work. And if you're like me, like I was five years ago when I started off, I was a broke bartender making 18 grand a year working nights and doing something, you know, getting people drunk for a living, that ultimately wasn't very fulfilling to me. And what I really wanted wasn't just to build this, like, big team and all this complex stuff and run ads and build complex funnels. What I really wanted was a few simple things.

Okay, so before we go into the few simple things, he wanted the second part, okay? Relatability, right? So Cole already has called out the fact that all of these people that are teaching these other different make money online opportunities, those, you know, can and do work, right? He's not throwing stones at him and saying like, they don't work. He's saying they can and they do work. Right? But if you're like me, okay, he said, look, I used to be a bartender making 18 grand a year. And why is this so brilliant? Well, again, he's like saying, I'm just like you, right? He's not some trust fund baby who never worked a real job in their life or never knocked on doors, right? If you're watching this and you're in a crappy job, when you're watching it and you're thinking to yourself, well, if this dude could do it and he was only making 18k a year as a bartender getting people drunk for a living, then all these other things he's saying that I was about to think about doing myself to make more money online aren't good. What is? Right? It's keeping you in a sense of curiosity based now. So now we're going to go into part three, which is the promise.

I wanted to make six figures a year online. I wanted to be able to control my own schedule, be my own boss, and be able to do what I wanted, when I wanted so I can travel and do the things that were really fulfilled, fulfilling to me and do work that was exciting to where instead of like waking up and hitting the snooze button every single day, I was able to actually wake up, jump out of bed and be excited about What I was doing and what I was doing to be able to make the income that I really wanted to make. The entire first part of that ad that we just broke down, and I'm going to break down that last piece before I keep going, that is the hook that was about a minute and seventeen seconds long. Okay. Minute and sixteen. Seventeen seconds. Which means that entire first part of the ad is what hooks the viewer. Keeps them long enough so that way he can introduce himself, why he's credible, which is the story, which we'll get into in a second. Right. And then he can then pitch the offer later. But that hook was so valuable. So let me break down that last piece we just reviewed. Okay. Because that was part three, the promise inside of the hook. You know, all these headaches, right, that come with those other make money online opportunities. And he says you don't need it, right? He's talking about no need for fancy funnels or managing a big team. Thank God. Right? I just want to make a few bucks online. No creating products or running confusing ads, right? I don't know how to do that. Most people are thinking when they're watching this, all you need. All right, which we'll get into in a second. And before he does that, he goes into part two, right. And now here comes the story. Who he is, why they should listen to him, and what the offer is. Exactly. Okay, so let's dive in.

My name is Cole Gordon, and five years ago, I found one simple forgotten about skill that I was able to leverage to not only make my first 10k a month online, but do it in a way where I was able to avoid all of these traditional headaches that come from starting an online business. Those are all key words that he's using to get people to understand that if they click on this ad and they learn this skill themselves, just like Cole did, they'll be able to be on the inside, on the ground before this actually becomes very mainstream, they're going to get the unfair advantage of getting in. Now, before it becomes this mainstream thing, this big thing, right? So he's using this language because it's powerful to appeal to the people that are already tried those other mechanisms, right? Amazon, fba, dropshipping, agency space, right? All those things that they tried and didn't work, or all those things that they're thinking about trying. And he's saying don't do all of those, right? Although those can work, do this instead. Because you can use it to sell it to a small group of, you know, business owners, wealthy business owners in a billion dollar industry, and not just make 10k a month online, but he was able to do it in as little as 30 days without even starting his own business. That right there is huge. To the person watching this right now, I don't have to start my own business, I don't have to create my own website. I don't have to create my own product or service. Let me let you in on a little secret here. All of these online gurus have it plus blank backwards, okay? Again, calling out the ideal person, the person who's interested in make money online and obviously listen to these other gurus, right? And it just works so well.

Now at this stage, you're probably wondering, okay, well, what is this skill? And more importantly, how did all of the people you're seeing on the screen right now also skip the grunt work of starting a traditional online business to be able to create a 6.

Skip the grunt work of starting a traditional online business, right? 117 students. So that's again, further credibility, further social proof. I just didn't do it for myself, but I've also done it for 117 other students. And again, the editing here is just a simple screen share of him scrolling down his student testimonials and results page. Look at him, right? He's in a studio in his house, right? It looks like he's someone just like them. He's got a V neck tee on and a guitar in the background. He looks like a regular dude, someone that you would probably have a conversation with. And it doesn't feel like he's pitching you anything. He's just kind of talking to you, right? So this is where he's positioning himself as different than these other online gurus. Because again, at this time, right, when this ad first popped off three years ago, right, everybody was getting flamed online for selling courses, coaching or masterminds, right? This is when Coffee Zillow was blowing up for calling out guys like Tai Lopez. He's leveraging that narrative and saying these all all these other gurus out there have it backwards. I'm teaching you something that actually works for me and all these other students as well. So wanted to just point that out because that's very key. A lot of people think, okay, let me just write this perfect script. The script is important, obviously, figure a.

Year income online using this. Well, I just put together a 19 minute case study detailing my exact story of how I found this skill in 2015, and then just one month later made my first 10k online.

And okay, so again, social proof now again, correct. Cole just doesn't talk about how he did it himself. He drops the bomb. He's helped 117 other students do the same thing. He shows those screenshots as he's going through the video of people making serious dough. 20k, you know, 25k, even 50k a month. And why is this so powerful? Again, he's saying, look, I'm not a one hit wonder. This works for other people too. It triggers the part of your brain that goes, well, if all these regular people can do it too, right? Then those specific numbers, they make it feel real. Okay? It's not just like, make lots of Money, it's make $25,437 this month. I remember when I first started out seeing numbers like that would have blown my mind, especially before I started my own agency. It still kind of does, right? That's still a lot of money for the average person. And so this is where he goes to the offer, which you just saw. Okay, Part five, the offer. Now, here's where Cole shows. Okay, he's playing chess while everyone else, all these other fake gurus are playing checkers. He doesn't try to sell you anything in the ad. Instead he's like, hey, I've got this free 90 minute video that explains everything. Okay? This is genius because it's low pressure. Just watch the video. Anyone can do that. He promises to spill the beans on the secret skill fast. Okay, so watch this.

And after watching this short video, not only will you know what this skill is just within two minutes of watching it, but more importantly, you're going to know exactly how with a step by step game plan of how you, just like my students, can use this to make your first 10k in as little as 30 days as well.

So, okay, right there, right? Low pressure, you can watch the video. And he promises to spill the beans on the secret skill that allowed him to make not just 10k a month online, but all of his other 117 students do it too, within the first 2 minutes of watching that video. That's less time than it takes to microwave a frozen burrito from the grocery store. He says, I'll just give you the step by step plan as well and how you can leverage it because people love that stuff, right? It's like Ikea furniture for making money online. Here, here's the skill, here's how you can leverage it and create a game plan for yourself to make the same amount of money my students are using to make online as well. And now is where we get into the urgency and scarcity, because again, once you make the offer and it's for free training, everyone knows what a free training is nowadays, right? You gotta have some urgency and scarcity. But how do you implement urgent urgency and scarcity on a free training that's actually evergreen and is going to keep running forever? Well, let's watch how Cole does it.

He's overcoming their skepticism and their objections, showing them basically, look, I'm just going to give it to you and show you how it works, okay? And he keeps going here, right?

Showing how I did it, my students have done it. And ultimately how you too can generate a six or multiple six figure a year income online using this one skill.

For instance, you can tell at this last part he was also reading from a teleprompter, which is not a bad thing, right? We use a teleprompter for all of our clients that film their ads. We recommend using a teleprompter because most people are not going to be able to just riff off the cuff that, well Right. You got to be someone who's really good on camera and you have to have really knowledgeable experience about obviously your offer and you have to have a good framework for this. The hook story close framework is what we use. But we still recommend reading a teleprompter. And again, Cole, proof of this, right? He's reading from a teleprompter on this last part at the very least. But it's got 4.7 million views and it's made a multiple eight figures in revenue. You know it works. Read a teleprompter, read the script and act it out as best as you can. So there's no shame in reading from a teleprompter. Again, I noticed it because I watch ads all day long. But it helps you, especially when filming your ads. We recommend the Elgato prompter. You can look it up. It's one of the best ones in the marketplace right now. It helped you with reading your ads. Okay, so again, he goes back to the actual desire and uses that for the urgency and scarcity.

Using this one skill, for instance, you'll learn how people like pedram have used this to make 50 grand in a month.

Now, social proof and credibility again, okay, urgency and scarcity. How is he using urgency and scarcity in this free training? He's showing them other people that are just like them that have made crazy amounts of money. There's a screenshot of this guy doing 53k in net income in one month from using this high income skill. And again, at this time, nobody knew what remote high ticket closing was. Cole was the first one to actually make it mainstream. Of course there were people teaching sales training and coaching and obviously how to become a better sales professional. But Cole was the first one to teach this new skill which was remote closing. This new forgotten about skill, right? Sales and how you can do it online, working with these high ticket businesses. Remember before you said these wealthy business owners in this billion dollar industry, high ticket info, products, education and make all kinds of money. 53k, boom proof.

Like you're just chatting with a dude who's figured some stuff out and is a little bit farther ahead than you. It matches what he's saying. He's promising a simple way to make money. So a simple ad makes sense. It keeps you focused on what he's saying, not on some flashy edits. Okay, I've seen ads with way bigger budgets that don't convert half as well as this one. Now here are the key takeaways for you, okay? Number one, know your audience. Cole clearly gets the frustrations of people trying to make money online. He's probably lived them himself. And he has. He said all the things he tried to do to make money before he stumbled upon this one. Forgotten about skill. Number two, keep it simple, stupid. Okay? The kiss principle is alive and well in this ad. Number three, balance, skepticism, okay? And hope. Cole's like, yeah, you know, most of what you've heard online out there right now from all these other people is total bs. It can work. It does work. But here's something that actually works. And by the way, here's something that most people aren't talking about or doing that I'm going to teach you that you can learn to leverage for yourself and before everybody else does too. And what do you know three years later, what's happening right now? Everybody and their mom is selling high ticket sales, training and coaching to just like Cole because he's the one that blew up this offer to the moon. Number four, use social proof like it's going out of style. Real results from real people. Put the screenshots, put the actual, you know, text conversations, put the testimonials, play them. Let people know this is actually real. And it works. That's the good stuff that people want to see to address their and overcome their skepticism and their objections. And one last thing, Give before you take. So again, at this time, everyone knew what a free training was. Offering that free case study and letting them know they'll learn what the skill is in the first two minutes. And it's not going to be some pitch fest. Okay. Is what's lowering their skepticism and allowing them to actually build trust faster with Cole. And it works. So there you have it, folks. That's why Cole's ad is crushing it harder than I crush my morning workouts. It speaks directly to the people he wants to reach. It offers hope without sounding like a late night infomercial and delivers the message in a way that feels like advice from a successful friend. Again, it has 4.7 million views over the last three years and propelled Cole and his company closers IO well past multiple eight figures.

And that's really shown an impact for our business. So if you're thinking about doing it, do it. The guy's the man. We're gonna keep working with him in, you know, some sort of capacity for a long, long time. So it's been a game changer. So if you're thinking about it, do it.
