I Broke Down Sabri Suby’s Most Successful YouTube Ad (and why it works)

This is a YouTube video titled "I Broke Down Sabri Suby’s Most Successful YouTube Ad (and why it works)" created in February 2024. The content features Neil Patel analyzing and breaking down a high-performing YouTube ad by Sabri Suby, founder of Australia's fastest growing digital marketing agency, King Kong. Neil provides detailed commentary on the ad's creative elements, script structure, marketing strategies, and effectiveness in engaging viewers and generating leads. The video is an educational marketing analysis aimed at helping viewers understand how to create successful YouTube ads for coaching, consulting, or course creator businesses. The content is a monologue with two main participants referenced but only one speaking, Neil Patel.
There's nothing I respect more than another agency owner who's willing to risk it all and create great ads that get people to pay close attention. And this is what I respect about Sabri Subie. He's the founder of Australia's fastest growing digital marketing agency, King Kong, and has been featured as a shark on Australia's Shark Tank. And today I'm going to break down one of his best performing YouTube ads of all time. Get your pen and paper ready, ladies and gentlemen, because this is about to be a true YouTube ad master class. Please, please, Lord Zucks, bring me more customers and a higher roas.
Hey you. Yes, you. He's trying to get customers online, driving you crazier than your ex thinking of doing it to kill.
Holy. Okay, so whoa, a lot's happening. Give me a second here. Okay, so he just had Mark Zuckerberg as a Jesus like figure in a church where a guy was praying to him and asking him for more roas. That is hilarious. And Sabri Subi for some reason was dressed up as a priest and now he has a shirt that says Roaz on it and some tequila and amarl.
Throwing your MacBook out of a moving car window. Tools to do this, tools to do that. Pixels for this and cookies for that. As you work longer, harder earlier on weekends and whenever you get a spare moment listening to podcasts at 2x speed whilst gunning for inbox 0 refreshing LinkedIn as you pretend to pay attention on a zoom call that you don't even need to be on. It's okay, there's a solution.
Okay, so the whole first 38 seconds was hook. Pain point, pain point, pain point, pain point, pain point, pain point. You're praying to Mark Zuckerberg to get you more roas. You're throwing your laptop out of your car, which it looked like he actually literally broke a MacBook. But he also talked about how you're working countless hours and you're hopping on endless zoom calls while he's going from scene to scene to scene. There's non stop action happening on the screen which keeps you engaged. I mean, I literally went 38 seconds. So sometimes I keep pausing it almost too quickly. I feel for these videos, but this one had me wanna watch continuously. Cause I was like, I don't almost wanna pause this. It's too good. Now he's about to go into a better solution.
Here it is. There is no solution. Did I hurt your feelings? Do you want a band aid and a cuddle? But seriously, if you finally wanna get more clients customers and sales than you can possibly handle. Then listen up.
We can honestly just stop it right there, man. I mean this thing is gold. Like this. This is. And he was in front of his like decked out plaque wall where it looks like there's just multiple 2 comma club awards that aren't even 2 comma club awards. Look like this is Australian version of 2 comma club and clickfunnels. But there's like tens of them. And he just tells you there's no secret. Suck it up. And now hopefully he's going to reveal some sort of secret. Has to.
But let's see what I've learned from growing the number one fastest growing agency in the country and generating my clients over $7.8 billion in sales.
Is that hook over transition? There is no secret teaching now. Social proof. Growing the number one fastest digital marketing agency helping my clients generate $7.8 billion in sales. Social proof, right? Credibility. Now you're listening to him. Who is this guy? And obviously clearly he's credible.
Doing so isn't a result of luck, hope or praying to the Internet gods.
It's Elon Musk. That is Elon Musk. He's got a picture of Elon Musk in this church now next to Mark Zuckerberg.
Result of having a selling system that takes complete randos on the Internet from. Who are you to shut up and take my money? Hey, Siri, how do I get more customers?
I'd rather rub habanero chilies in my eyeballs than help you solve that problem.
Not having one is like playing business on hard mode. Alright, let me show you how we do this. Using something called the larger market formula in any given market.
His office is huge by the way. Quick side note, I mean this thing looks massive. Like this thing is sick. So wow. I mean it's just scene after scene after scene. Now he's got employees working behind him. You know, this guy who's behind the whiteboard actually looks like he's, he's, he's, he's bought into the mission here. So let's see, let's see how this goes.
Only 3% of people are looking to buy right now. Then there's a further 17% of the market that are in information gathering.
All right, I like this. He's teaching why the system that most people are using or they don't have in their business is actually the problem. They don't have a system. But now he's showing you how there's only 3% of the market. Who's ready to buy right now. So if you run ads to a funnel, there's only really going to be three people that are ready to buy right now. 17% are interested, but they're in information gathering mode. And now he's going to go into the rest of the 20 and 60%. He's educating you again. YouTube ads live and die by their creative. Most people try to out media or buy a bad creative, a shitty creative, you can't do that. This creative is phenomenal because he's teaching people go to YouTube to do two things. To learn or to be entertained. He is doing both, which is why this YouTube ad works so well. He is educating you in the process of selling you while keeping you entertained as he's doing it.
These are the window shoppers who may not be looking to buy right now, but are open to it. Then there's a further 20% who are problem aware, meaning that they might know that they need a new car, need to lose weight, get more clients, etc. But aren't actively researching or looking to buy. Then there's the other 60% who aren't problem aware or looking to buy now. Here's where things burn like a mouthful of fire ants. Most businesses spend.
So he just had some random guy getting his head figuratively burned off with fire for no reason at all besides the simple fact that it caught your attention and it probably kept you watching. So you know again, these little details that as you're seeing this camera shifting, he's changing positions, there's sound effects as him walking, even though I guarantee you he's not really wearing boots, but, but it sounds like he's wearing boots. Like these, these little things that you might miss. But that's why this is something that we just got to keep watching. And we're Only a minute 54 seconds in. There's 4 minutes and 27 seconds total to go.
Spend all their time, money and attention on the 3% of the market that's looking to buy now. So there's way more money targeting the 97% of prospects outside of the top of the pyramid because believe it or not, even disinterested prospects can turn into lucrative customers if you know how to approach them.
He had people just throwing money as he was walking up the steps.
What problem is that? Most people treat every lead like the 3% that are looking to buy now. That's a stupid idea. It's going to zero. Take it behind the barn and shoot it.
This is huge. Okay. I'm so glad that he said this because when you're running ads, people who aren't sophisticated with running ads, let's just say YouTube ads in this example, obviously they expect that every lead is supposed to be number one qualified. Meaning that if they don't make this type of money or they're not this type of person, or they're not at this state in terms of the buying process, or they're not this familiar with your brand, or they haven't watched your pre call homework video, or they haven't watched the full VSL and they hop on a call with your salesperson, then they are not a good lead and it is the ad's fault, the agency's fault and it's poor lead quality. Whereas Sabri just perfectly explained why you, if you have been complaining about lead quality, need to suck it up and realize that only 3% of the market is ready to buy right now. And you as a business owner are investing money in YouTube ads just like this one to get leads. Some of which who are not going to be ready to buy today, most of which who are going to be ready to buy with more information, more social proof, more nurturing, more value added data down the road. Whether that's two weeks, three weeks, four weeks, or even three months from today. What you're doing is you're building a presence and brand online while getting leads to your funnel in your system to be able to work them to eventually close later. If you don't understand that you have no business running ads by yourself because you'll be too emotional and you'll turn things off before they even work. Sabri knows this because he's an agency owner like myself and we have to teach these clients this, which he just did perfectly. Because when you realize that not everyone's ready to buy today, you can be okay with not trying to sell everybody as hard as you would like. The 3% who are ready to go right now, you can build out your proper systems, processes and funnels to be able to get them to buy later. That's how you grow a business. You spend money on ads and you don't expect a return immediately, right? Not immediately, even though you want to. Everyone wants a return. But you have to realize sometimes the best return comes with delayed gratification.
Forget about damning strangers to the cows. Come home running complicated webinar and quiz funnels. Because if you want to slap half a million on the ass, this selling system is much quicker, easier and faster than anything you've seen before. Once you have this system, everything becomes cheaper. Usually a lot cheaper. Your cost per click drops, conversion rates increase, leads are cheaper, and as a result, result, your cost to acquire a customer is cheaper. Much cheaper.
So now he's teaching them about the system, which I'm sure he's going to do a call to action very soon. He's teaching them this system is easier, quicker and faster to actually get those people to buy. So he told you only 3% of the market's ready to buy right now. However, there's the entire pyramid you're missing out on. And this system that I'm about to reveal to you in this ad is going to help you close those people quicker. Easier, easier and faster. Let's see what the system is.
Aubry, if you don't believe me, keep going through our funnel. Yep, this one. And pay very close attention to the whole silky smooth process and ask yourself, what if I had the same thing?
How many times you guys think he took to film that one scene right there? Let's just go back and watch that again. First of all, he enters his office from this escape door that leads to the stairs, it seems like. And he has a protein shaker in his hand, which he hands off to this guy on the right for a second.
If you don't believe me, keep going through our funnel. Yep, this one. And pay very close attention to the whole.
Casually just writes a signature on some sort of fake contract and then catches.
A tennis ball and ask yourself, what if I had the same thing?
It was an apple. Actually put sunglasses on and it was an apple that he caught and now he's eating it.
Okay, because if all your marketing is screaming buy my stuff, you're doing the equivalent of walking up to complete strangers and asking them to marry you on the first day. Okay, so want one of these selling systems for your own business so you can make some extra money so you can buy things, expensive things like Dyson fans, Aesop hand cream and weird flavored juices. Well, don't worry, Skippy, because not only am I revealing every little piece of this.
Call me Skippy man.
All right, system, in my best selling book today I'm gonna send you a copy for free. So never again do you have to put your hard earned money behind a crappy agency. The ads or funnel that murder your mauler. So slip on your big boy pants and click on the button below. Oh, and let me address the elephant.
That'S been Trump first call to action. It's a free plus shipping book offer. It seems like to me he's giving you A no brainer offer which is a book called Sell like Crazy to learn this system. And I think he's going to go into the urgency and scarcity, twisting in the knife now and telling them why.
There'S no risk opening about your mind. Why is this dude giving away all of his secrets for free? Don't worry, I explain all of that and more on the LinkedIn. So click the link now and get your free copy today.
He had a screen that said click the damn link. Sell like Crazy. How to get as many clients, customers and sales as you can possibly handle. Not a bad title.
Or don't click the link and instead hide in a gray emotionless pit of your own pity. Sell like crazy figuratively, not clinically. Some side effects of buying this book may include a high converting sales funnel, better ROAs, lower CPLs, lower CPAs, restoration of your sanity, peace of mind, more freedom, more time with your family, more security, and a surplus of cash in your checking account. No animals were harmed in the production of this ad, except for this one horse who had his feelings hurt. He'll be fine. And no, buying this book alone won't make you a billionaire. Use some common f cking sense.
I love that disclaimer. First of all, that's a way to wrap up an ad. I've never seen anybody do that. He basically said this book will not make you a billionaire. It'll give you real things you need to actually help your business. And wow, 4 minutes and 27 seconds. And all 4 minutes and 27 seconds was not wasted for one single second. Where do we start? First of all, the hook is what did everything. I'm going to play it again for us real quick. Please, please, Lord Zucks, bring me more customers and a higher roas. Everybody wants more customers. Everybody wants a higher roas, especially if they're running ads. And immediately he hooks you in in the first five seconds with that continues keeping you hooked throughout the entire time with just tons of visual patterns and visual cues and storyboarding and props and I mean he's in a priest priest gown for God's sakes. And he's in a church. They did a lot for this ad to work, I would imagine. However, like I always say here on this channel, having spent over $60 million on YouTube ads and generated over $200 million in return for our clients and their companies and worked with the industry leaders in the industry, specifically in the info marketing space, it doesn't matter how fancy the creative is if the script doesn't follow the proven framework his script does. It's 4 minutes and 27 seconds of keeping you on your seat, listening, because you're experiencing the same things that he's talking about. He hooks you in because he knows you want more customers and higher roas. And then he explains to you why and all the things you've tried that haven't got you those results. Then he also goes into teaching mode, but before he does and transitions, he tells you why he's credible. He's made his clients $7.8 billion in sales with his agency. He's grown the fastest agency in the market that he's in specifically. And he has all the plaques in the background while he's saying that to prove that. Plus he's literally in the middle of his office with all his employees, from what it looks like they're actually working for him. So he's credible. He's showing you that he's credible while he's telling you that he's credible. And then he goes into teaching you that money, most people try to sell or write or produce ads and run ads that are all just saying buy my right now, like right now. Whereas the market, only 3% of them are ready to buy right now. You have to do a system, implement a system in your business that actually allows you to close the other side of the market, the 97% who aren't ready to buy today on a quicker, faster and more efficient way. And that way is taught in his book, the sell like crazy free plus shipping book offer, which you can get by clicking the damn link below. So no brainer offer, very easy call to action. And then he twists the knife at the very end by saying, or don't.
Click the link and instead hide in a gray, emotionless pit of your own pity.
Sell like crap, twist the knife, adds urgency and scarcity, makes you feel the pain again and says in a funny way, or don't do anything and just keep getting the same results, which is probably not much. And then he goes with a funny outro and leaves you feeling good because he shows that he didn't harm any of the animal animals that were used in this ad in the process while making you click the link. And I'm surprised I haven't bought this book yet. And you bet your ass that I will be buying this book after this amazing job. One of the best ads I've seen in a while, to be honest. And there's no reason I can see now why he's the fastest growing digital marketing agency, because he's also doing this for branding purposes for his agency. Clearly, if you're someone who's wanting to get more roas from ads, you're going to want to work with him just seeing the production he put in to this ad for his business. If you want to learn more about how Sabri did this so you can write, produce and create YouTube ads like this for your coaching, consulting or course creator business, then I would highly encourage you to watch this video right here. It's an ad breakdown I did for Roland Frazier, a client of ours, where we helped him run this ad and make over a million dollars, which shows you a very simple, stupid framework that doesn't require you to hire actors, actresses, props or anything. He's actually just in front of his, you know, camera speaking using a very simple script framework that you can learn when you watch this video that you can use to get more leads, calls and clients quicker, better and faster. Just like Sabri explained with YouTube ads without all the bells and whistles because you don't need this. This comes after you have iconverting script, an approve an offer and a funnel to run traffic to click this link. Watch this ad breakdown next and learn how you can do this for your business too. I'll see you there.
