Brian Moncada warns against running multiple YouTube ad accounts to dodge competition, a strategy that risks account shutdowns and policy violations. He explains why this approach backfires and what to do instead.
As long as you're running the same campaigns and one ad account, you won't compete with each other. But if you have another ad account running the same ads, the same offer, the same targeting, those will compete. And I actually recently learned, even though you can do it, it's actually against policy and you can get flagged from circumventing systems. So it's actually not because a lot of people will approach us sometimes and they'll say, I'm already running ads in this account. I'm already working with this agency. I want to work with you guys, but I don't want you to get access to the agency's account that they're running in. So I want to create a new account and have you guys run ads in that new account fresh. And now we tell them no because of the policy. And the worst thing that can happen is we say yes to that, and then their whole operation gets shut down. So, something to keep in mind, personally. I've done it, though, in the past, but now that we've confirmed that, we just won't, I would highly recommend you just don't do that.
