Brian Moncada, a CEO and CMO, admits he became a bottleneck in his company by trying to handle everything himself. He realized he needed to focus on what he's actually good at: marketing, networking, and leadership, not management details.
Our biggest issue right now was actually me. I was the bottleneck for a long time. I was doing CEO CMO and really I just need to be doing visionary which is CMO my strong suit. But I've been too stuck in the weeds of the managing. Naturally I realized that when I get too much in the details because I don't like how things are operating I a lot of things up. It ruins the momentum. People get discouraged. I kind of had to look at myself in the mirror and I said yo dude, what are you the best at and how do you just do more of that? AKA why we have content going right now, why I'm here in the mastermin, networking, relationships, speaking, marketing, sales. Like that's what I'm the best at. I've tried to do the CEO role for a long time and it got us here. But what got us here won't get us there.
