I paid $16,000 for the The Vault Conference (it didn't go as planned...)

An entrepreneur paid $16,000 to attend Patrick Bet-David's Vault Conference and documented what actually happened. The vlog captures conversations about business strategy, leadership, and AI, but the experience didn't match expectations.
I paid $16,000 to be at this event. It's Patrick Bet David's annual Vault Conference, and I'm here with over 5,000 plus entrepreneurs. I'm going to take you behind the scenes and share everything I learned with you as if you were here. So that way you can soak up the knowledge and wisdom with us and use it to improve your life, your business, your family, and your relationships. Let's go.
Who actually went to a Chick Fil A truck? Did anybody go to Chick Fil A? It's literally a Chick Fil A truck back here.
What's up? Oh, damn. So, yeah, Ryan Tender. I got white ones.
Sales team.
Nice. Right here. Patrol ready? You guys ready? Let's go.
You're going to the portfolio?
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
If you guys need a empty note.
Car, it's a problem. That's what I used to do on doors all the time when I Door door sales. I just.
Literally nothing in here just looks official.
I might leave my backpack, cuz. Yeah, it's going to be. Are you going to take anything from you? No. Wallet? No. So what's up, bro?
Nothing much, bro. Living, taking charge, you know? Got the new adspend tee coming in hot with the squad.
What are you looking to get out of the Vault, bro?
Oh, man, I just want to learn anything I can about fulfillment, leadership, mindset stuff.
What about the rock, man?
I'm gonna stand next to him, see if he's down to like, fight me or something. How do you like what's calling, Charlie?
It's too humid, man. I'm not a Florida guy. Whoa. Damn, son.
It's nice, though.
It's nice. It's nice. That's nice.
Yeah. So what we're really doing here, we're just trying to meet people. No agenda. Just talking to them face to face, getting to know people. I think a lot of people make a mistake where they're trying to like, come into one of these events with a lot of things that they want to accomplish in all reality. Brian says it at best, just come in and take one, two, or three things away, apply them to your business, and meet some cool people. Yeah, dude, shoot me a text so I have your number too.
Absolutely.
If you're around. The main idea of it is basically you're the yellow and there's a green. You try to control that green property with your pieces. And if he catch you, he can kill you. Like he can kill your pieces. All right, what is it called? Pons invasion. Pons invasion. Okay, nice.
So we do run a YouTube ads agency.
You run YouTube ads for clients?
Coaches, consultants, agency owners.
Yeah.
I'm Charlie, by the way.
Mark.
Nice to meet you, Mark.
Yeah, absolutely.
I don't know if we even tracked this.
Yeah.
A couple people in there.
Throughout the session. And I guarantee you. Let me make a guarantee to you. I guarantee you the entire event when you leave, you guys going to be talking. We're going to talk, but I guarantee you, you're going to say, how can we have this? Why are we doing it this way? About 18 months ago, I have a meeting with Tom.
So we just finished up day one here at the fall conference in West Palm Beach. Was actually our first time meeting some of our team members together. And we all spent time going through the networking event. We got registered. We've got part of our team at different levels. We've got a few team members in executive, a few team members in myself and founder, and Brian, obviously the CEO suite. He's actually doing the mastermind session with PBD and all the other CEOs right now. But the whole team tired. Lots of talking, lots of shaking hands. Today we're gonna go grab some food. And that puts a wrap on day one at the Vault Conference 2024.
Day one's been solid. Met a ton of people so far. Getting kind of hungry now, so, you know, trying to go get some food. But day one overall has been a massive one.
Talked to a ton of people, water filtration businesses, you know, doing like well over 5 million a month. Got some real estate guys, talked to, you know, a couple influencers. Like, it was a crazy day. I'm exhausted, I'm starving, but I'm high on energy, baby.
Day one, man. Good energy, good connections. Looking forward to the rest of the weekend. Obviously getting to connect with the rest of the team. It's going to be a good event. Looking for some really big takeaways, things to implement in the business. It's going to be a good learning, man.
Good learning. Out of here. Last night was the CEO mastermind. And funny enough, I got chewed out in front of 500 plus entrepreneurs by Patrick B. David himself. And it was honestly embarrassing. I stepped up and I took a swing for the fences and I said, you know what? They're talking a lot about organic traffic and how the organic's the content machine. And I said, I agree with that. If you use ads to help be organic, you can grow your organic even more. Unfortunately, Patrick didn't agree with that and he used me as an example to his own right. Maybe I didn't deliver the message the right way. I referenced how we helped him last year. Maybe he didn't like that. Regardless, he used me as an example. Made an example out of me in front of everybody. And you know what? In the moment, I felt fucking embarrassed. I felt completely embarrassed. And I was like, damn, dude. How bad does it feel to have your mentor, someone you look up to, talk about? There's a thousand A.D. guys like him. But it fueled me. I couldn't sleep last night. I didn't get one hour of sleep. I woke up this morning, hit a workout, and I said, you know what? Just like Patrick talks about in his book, choose your enemies wisely. We got to use what people say about you for good or for bad, to fuel you to get to your next level. And I could say two things. I could say I could tuck my tail between my legs and just cry and about it and moan and complain and say, oh, Patrick didn't support me or endorse me, or I could wake up today and say, you know what? Fuck it. We both. We smile. We still shake hands. We still show up, represent our company because we know what we talk about. We know what we believe in. I know my intentions were pure. And more importantly, I know that I got to earn his respect even more. And even if I don't, that's fine. I'll do everything I can to make sure that my presence is known and make sure that I use this as a lesson. Because I didn't lose last night. I learned that I had plenty of people DMing me afterwards saying, yo, dude, I don't know why he went so hard on you, but I agree with you. Ads and organic need both. And so, thankfully, there's people out there that will agree with you and that won't agree with you. You got to decide, because guess what? There's going to be people that hate on you, say bad things about you. You can't let that shit get to you. You got to keep moving forward and keep pushing on. Let's go.
Brendan. Yeah.
Okay, cool. Beautiful.
Yeah. I was telling him I don't like him, man. He stood up last night.
Yeah, he was the one that wasn't the best.
Look, obviously, I recognize your face, bro.
Yeah.
I was like, wait, I know that one.
Yeah. Hey, you know, I. I appreciate that, but how old are you? 30. I just turned 30 in August, bro.
He's like, you look way younger.
He told me you were 30. I was like, no.
Wow.
This guy looks like he's, like, 21.
Wow. That's awesome, dude.
You're going to be like, you're going to be like 80 and you're going to be worth like a billion. And you're going to be like. People are going to be like, oh, dude. He's like, that's when I launched the.
Health and wellness company.
Yeah. You know, it's funny, dude. Like. Like, perception plays a big role in everything. Like, you never know in a room, like, who's who. Y. And because you're going so hard on your ads, like, I don't even, like, when I don't know much about your business. But I'm assuming you're working with like, some big creators.
Yeah.
And somebody, like, multiple people. Tell me you're like, blowing up right now.
Well, yeah. That's why I was like, okay. It's like, you can't have all the good without the bad. And like yesterday it was like, kind of humbling a little bit. Cause I'm like, all right, sometimes you gotta get your teeth knocked in, you know, and the bigger you go, the only. The bigger it's gonna get too. So. But either way, it's like, that's why I think about, like, like, you guys and Andy. It's like, man, like, you go on his Instagram and it's just all, like, a lot of comments are just negative. But it's like, bro, he's making such a big impact. And what you guys have, the culture you guys have, like, you can't recreate that. That's not something you just duplicate off the whim. Like, that's just hard work, bro. So I respect what you guys are doing 100%.
So I've only been doing organic.
Okay.
But my. My following is finally starting to grow on Instagram a little bit. And the key indicator, it's almost like a KPI for me now is how many hate comments I'm getting. Had one video that hit like 100k on Instagram. And like, I was getting. I. I looked at the comments and I was like, bro, there's like 500, like, Andy L. But I'm like, dude, keep it going, bro. Cuz all my videos are hit like 10, 20.
Yeah. And then you just need that one comment that's like, this was working.
Yeah.
This was a good message, dude.
We definitely need to connect because we like what I do. My. My big niche for Andy is I'm helping a lot of, like, midsize creators and coaches.
Okay.
Like, blow up strategies.
Yeah.
Okay. Let me tell you what I'm. Let me manage expectations up Front on what I don't want to hear. I don't want a motivational speech that you guys can do it, make it work. All this stuff I want one, we're doing this. Two, we're doing this. Three, we're doing this. Four, we're doing this. Five, we're doing this. I need you to give me clear directions on what to do with my marriage. Okay? That's what the client is asking for. Do you have that?
I have that.
Let's hear it.
All right, so first and foremost, I'm a Christian, so I will say pray about it. Ask God for wisdom and knowledge and.
He'Ll deliver everything that way.
So that way, of course we should.
Have been addressed beforehand. But that's still not what we're going to do, is going to have the tough conversation.
I'm going to ask her what she.
Sees the best possible solution being. Once she expresses that to me, I'll make sure that I go ahead and I put in the work to make sure that my actions are aligned with the things that I'm saying. I can't not gonna get into that part, but we'll do that. And I'm gonna make sure that I sell her the vision every day. I can't do it one day and miss the second day. I have to do it every day of my life so I can have 35 years of marriage on top of these 10 right here. And then once I do that, the kids will follow and. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
I think that's good. Make some noise. That's good. Anybody have a different angle? Different angle right there. You gotta give me a good one because you flopped on the last one. So I wanna hear a good one on this one. And I'm remind you here, let's see.
What you got with any relationship communication.
Okay.
You gotta sit down with her and see what your goals are. So not only the husband, but the wife.
Yeah.
See all the husband schools right there with her business. He's grown a very big business. He has four kids. But what are her goals? Have you actually sat down and discussed the long term goals that she wants as well?
From C to B is a little bit tougher, but it's easy going from B to A, hard going from A to valedictorian. Super hard going from valedictorian to going harder. Going to this. The more it goes up, it gets harder and harder and harder. He says you have fewer choices to screw around. He says sometimes you train it, you come to the, you drink late and you don't go to the gym the next day. You lost that moment. And he said, I'm having dinner. Watch this entire thing. I said, how do you take this conversation here? I said, look, man, if you tell me you want to go live in UK next year because you want to play professional soccer for Manchester, is it Man U or Manchester City? One of the two.
England.
He was a player. He wants to play for England. You want to go play for there. I said, you need to make a bigger commitment to than this. So we changed our entire routine on Sundays yesterday. Bless you. Yesterday he had a game. They lost 4, 3, but he scored a goal. And then he had practiced for another 90 minutes after the game. So Sundays and Saturdays, that was a training routine. He came up with this. Wakes up, reads 20 pages of a.
Book.
After 20 pictures of book, one hour training outside by himself, and he has to keep beating the amount of times he dribbles the ball, you understand what I'm saying? Like dribbling the ball. So he had 25, now he's at 30. He has to keep getting it more.
And more and more.
And then he has to work on the leg, work on the stuff that he's got to do, right? Part of this conversation prompted up with how does the world think of you? Dylan cares what his dad thinks about him, some of his other friends, what they think about him, they're not that relevant. Who do people that matters to you and how you wonder that they think of you. And how do you want them to view you? The people that matter, how do you want them to think of you? And then how do you view yourself? What do you think about yourself? By the way, if you just hired somebody five months ago or you just hired somebody two months ago, what's the trust score with you? Maybe it's a three, four or five. So maybe time, he's going to show you plenty of time that his trust is going to go higher. Character. If you're less than a three, it's because of reason. You say it's less than a 3. Work ethic. Can somebody improve work ethic? Sure. Vision bought in. Sometimes people take a little longer to buy into your vision. No problem. I can be patient with that. You're not a running mate. If you haven't bought into a vision, it's mathematically impossible. Make sense? Competency. What typically happens with competency? The more you do whatever you do, the better you get at it. Competency is if a person's not competent in something we're doing. What does that say to you, this is going to come with what with time Rolodex. I'd like you to have this, but if you don't have it, it's cool. But these here, this is super crazy.
How was it? You guys liked it? Yeah, long, but it's good. Like this is next level shit, you know. What was your guys biggest takeaway from today? If you had a big one for that second session.
The running mates is like so crucial. It's like your inner circle, your running mates, like always cultivating that and like red flags out, you're done forever.
He said character and trust. The biggest one. Right? Yeah.
Don't be late.
That's right. That's good. I was going to talk about that later. What about you guys? I would say it's coming to think.
Just being able to grade like the running mate and just kind of judge like based on these certain traits where someone falls in your life.
Powerful.
I keep going back to processing issues. Yeah, it never stops, you know, having like a framework for that is just like so powerful.
CSM side, right? Yeah, I was thinking about that. I was like, dang. Yeah, yeah.
Personal and professional at all levels. It's always there.
Especially HR or even doing events. It's like we gotta solve, we got to solve, we got to solve plan B, plan B, plan C, whatever it is. But yeah, and all.
Running B.
Running B for sure.
Just like having those categories and like.
Actually putting some meaningful thought behind where.
You know, you sit.
Ariel sits in those categories and like.
Obviously having conversations about that stuff.
I think it'll be huge moving forward for sure.
Set it out, get some sleep. And day one, that's day one. It's a wrap.
You want to.
Type of people that annoy me. Cheap, lazy, entitled, arrogant, without like actual like experience to back it up, you know, and then selfish, negative, negative. Ryan and I always talk about this on the sales huddle.
Hate it, hate it, negative.
Same thing. Kind of what you were saying, these two questions of like, what type of people annoy me, who do I like to work with? I haven't gone through an exercise like that.
Right.
So it was like entitled, lack of self awareness, oblivious, opinionated, without real reason, lack of humility. And then like, why?
Right.
It's like all this shows me a lack of maturity, professional, like that type of stuff, like emotional maturity and getting to that level. Like that's, that's what it is.
And then one thing that I'm after is like true freedom with all three freedoms. Time, location and financial freedom. And basically I just want to do the things that I love and care about with the people that I love and care about where I want to be, you know, so.
So I found this. I thought this is a good breakthrough. But like, I work the best. Like, I bring the best out of myself when I have like freedom but also a lot of pressure. So like, then it's just like I get the flexibility to do what I want, but I have a. I just gotta get it done. So like freedom and pressure. I thought those defining that was cool. Definitely somewhat difficult to work with sometimes, you know, especially at the beginning. But I feel like I've worked on that because there used to just be one Ryan in the room and that could only be one rein in the room. But now, like, I think I can get along with a bunch of rides. It would be like, you know, I can actually get along with people that like, are pretty aggressive in your favor and be fine. You know, I think it's kind of like security in myself and being on my own mission.
His work has influenced the global dialogue on AI humanity.
I'm gonna show you some magic. It's the real thing. I mean, it's all the real.
Or.
It isn't able to scale that too.
As well, which is a tough thing. But it's exciting because it's like, yeah, like, yeah, I know. And then also keep. Continue selling you guys on this every single day because like, it's now more clear to me than ever. It's like, it is possible. Just. It's just who. Who can we do it? Who do we need to do it with? You know? So, yeah, the school already has the.
Functionality to like drip out the content.
And stuff like that.
Yeah, they do it.
They're pretty freak. Yeah. And. And Sam's releasing the annual option, so instead of just 97amonth, there's going to be a checkout page that says 97amonth or 997 pay in full annual. So they can just pay right there. I don't have to use stripe. It's just on school, which we save on fees. Yeah, that's already good. Oh, mobile. Yeah. Oh. Oh, yeah. Damn. Yeah, that was like. I think that was a few months ago. Yeah. Yeah, they're moving quick. And when I went to go visit him in California a month ago when I was in la. Yeah, he, he's. He. Because I went there, he's like, oh, I'm going to push the YouTube ads tracking. Because they don't have YouTube ads tracking. No one's running YouTube ads. For school? Well, they are, but they can't track it. So now they're going to push that and then we're going to run YouTube ads to get people to the school. So now we have a low ticket ticket. Hybrid. Hybrid funnel. Hybrid. A low ticket funnel. So yeah, yeah, that's like you just retarget all your subscribers, people that watch.
Your videos, target into the pre group, send them through the.
Just send them both offers, see what they want. Yeah. Options. Options. Yeah, yeah. Jennifer was selling a division of building it in Miami.
Me, I'm all for that. I was gonna ask, how do you guys feel about being back and forth?
I love it. She loves it. I mean, look, we love it here, man. I mean, you know, humidity is a little bit of a pain sometimes, as we experienced yesterday, but. But I mean, man, like the opportunity here is crazy. I like the lifestyle. The beach for me is everything. You know, not having that. The last year was tough and we were leaving every month. Basically every three to four weeks we were gone. California, Miami, somewhere to travel. So it was like we were never really there. So it's like, why would we live somewhere that we're always trying to leave when we could just go live somewhere we always want to be? And I do like what Patrick said and I agree with this too. It's like, where would it be easier to attract and get people to go to, like a place like a beach city. Right, right. And for talent, like, you know, all across the world. So just having the option to have an office and, and making it a hybrid is. Is what we're talking about right now. Because when I talk to Sam, Eric, Uberman and Ty, they all three of them, all three are different in every single way, but they all three agree on the same thing. Hybrid work culture. They have an in person office, but they don't necessarily force people to go. Like Patrick obviously got to be an officer. You're like, you're not on the team. Right. And I think I'm not that extreme just yet because I want to have a hybrid at first and then get it to a place where we grow so quick that eventually it's like, okay, well we, we want to be it. Like we want to be there down the road, you know? So yeah.
So then Ryan has his sales team.
Over here in this section, second floor is going to be like podcast content team studio. Right? We have, we have the podcast studio, the. The directed camera studio. We have, we have the events inside the office too. Maybe an event center as well, right? Yeah. Sales floor, client Successful Day two Lunch break. I want to give you a quick recap of everything we learned in the first half of today's session. So the very first thing was he had Max Tegmark speaking, who's an AI expert specialist. And Max said one thing that I wanted that really resonated with me, which was AI shouldn't replace anybody in your company immediately. Right? You should leverage AI to enhance what your existing team is already doing and optimize their productivity so they can complete those tasks way faster. So instead of thinking about AI replacing you or your team and making everybody obsolete, think about how you can use AI in your company to enhance what you're already doing. How can you make the processes and systems faster? And you might be thinking, yeah, Brian, I know I gotta be using AI, but how? Right? Well, think about the current processes you have in your business right now. For us, for example, one of the biggest bottlenecks that we have is getting clients through the actual video sales letter creation process, coming up with the hook, writing the script, right? Actually writing the entire video sales that are. They're bogged down by. Because they've never done it before. Well, if we use leverage AI, which we're doing right now, to be able to give them the exact framework, the exact script script, and give them a body copy, a draft of how they can actually do it on their own so they can tweak it and edit it according to what they actually would say. It's going to make the process a lot easier because, boom, it's plug and play and it takes a few seconds as opposed to a few hours or even a few days starting from scratch without leveraging AI. So how can you enhance what your team's already doing and optimize it for better productivity? That's the first thing, right? Again, don't replace anybody yet. Just leverage it to enhance what they're already doing and eventually the. The rest will take care of itself. Now, the biggest takeaway from my personal opinion on this past session was the strategy quadrant. I'll put a picture up in the video right here, right beside me. The strategy quadrant is what all CEOs should be focusing on every single day. So, you know, when you're running a company, you're managing a team, sometimes you wake up and you're like, what should I be working on? My team's doing this, my team's doing that. They got this covered. They got that covered. What should I be working on today? Right. Sometimes you feel a little bit imposter syndrome because you're like, man, I'm not really doing anything. Well, you refer to the strategy quadrant right here. So in the top left corner, you have next innovative campaign. Okay. To the right of that, you have leadership development. Right? And the scale on this side is exponential, meaning the actual exponential scale you can get and results you can get from these two things are exponential. So next item, campaign and leadership development. Then on the bottom, on the bottom left, you have operating system. Okay? And then on the bottom right, you have biz dev, relationships, sales. And then right there, you have linear, right? So you know, operating systems, they're necessary, they're required, you need them, but it's not really an exponential gain. Of course they're going to help you systematize things, make processes a lot faster, like we just talked about with AI but they're not going to exponentially help your business go to the next level. Same with biz dev relationship sales. You need to do it. You got to have sales. You got to be shaking hands, kissing babies, obviously going to events just like these, which I go to tons of the events you guys see me at every single event. Event. Why? Because I know that biz development is always something I'm going to be doing as a founder, as a CEO. And number one, developing relationships, bonding, making relationships stronger with already existing partners or former vendors. Right? And obviously leading to more sales. More facetime means more impressions, means more revenue, means more clients. Okay? And those are the things you should be focusing on. So if you wake up today, tomorrow, the next week, and you're like, what should I be working on? Look at the strategy quadrant and focus on those. Develop people, make them become better leaders. Think of your next innovative campaign that could take you to the next level. Fix your operating systems or have someone on your team work on those and go out and do business development, Grow stronger relationships, foster those relationships, and make more sales. So obviously, that's a big lesson for me because I came in too hot this weekend and I got humbled in the process. But like I was just telling my team before at lunch, I'm like, this is only going to make me stronger because I know what my intentions were, and that's the exact opposite of who I am. I'm not the typical sales guy just trying to sell something. I'm actually the opposite of that. That's why I developed strong relationships. And my goal is to prove that by repairing this relationship and making sure he knows we're here for a good time and a long time, because we're here with seven people this time. But next time it'll be double than that and make more sales. So obviously that's a big lesson for me because I came in too hot this weekend and I got humbled in the process. But like I was just telling my team before at lunch, I'm like, this is only going to make me stronger because I know what my intentions were, and that's the exact opposite of who I am. I'm not the typical sales guy just trying to sell something. I'm actually the opposite of that. That's why I develop strong relationships. And my goal is to prove that by repairing this relationship and making sure he knows we're here for a good time and a long time, because we're here with seven people this time. But next time it'll be double than that. Just like Andy Elliott, four years ago, he was here with just him and his wife. Now he's here with over 100 plus people. So my goal is to continue fostering this relationship with the valuetainment team and take it to the next level. Where we. Where are we going?
Day two.
That's a wrap. Just wrapped up a team dinner. Took the team out to a nice celebration to, you know, just honestly talk about what we learned. We learned a ton of amazing things. Everyone shared their top leaks, their top opportunities, and had a lot of good conversations, a lot of good insights in terms of what they're thinking of how we can improve the entire team, team and the entire company. That's exactly why it's so important to invest in your team, right? One of the quotes that stuck with me that I posted on my Instagram story today was, it's not a question of what if we invest in our team and they leave. The question is, what if we don't invest in our team and they stay. Let me repeat that. Okay. It's not what if we invest in our team and they leave. The question is, what if we don't invest in our team and they stay? It's a huge sum cost, obviously. So the more I think about that, I was talking to a few of the team members and I was saying, man, are you glad to be a part of the team? Like, how do you feel about being part of the team? They're all, for the most part, stoked. Obviously, they're bought in and more importantly, they're just thankful to be here. And it really excites me, man, as a leader, that's what I love doing. Bringing people together, all growing together, learning the same exact things, to be on the same team, to be aligned and get to our goals. And so that's exactly why I do this. I love this. I love the game, as Patrick said today, and I'm excited to do it all again tomorrow for day three, wrap it up and then hit the actual Mastermind celebration party at the end of it and wrap up in a beautiful entire weekend at the Bowl Conference. So I wish you were here, but if you weren't, that's why, if you haven't subscribed that you got to subscribe. As we post everything we learn on the journey to a million a month and beyond, we're not just stopping there. We're going to keep going. We're here for 20 years. I always say it to them, we're here for a good time in a long time. Let's go.
So how do you make it? How do you overcome the odds, continue to stay hungry and certainly humble?
Dwayne Johnson, Actor, producer, entrepreneur, and newly appointed Director, TPO.
So how did I get here?
Number 94, Wayne Johnson.

By being the hardest worker in the room. The ones who are confident, quiet in the room. It's like in a board meeting. The quiet ones who sit and they're really the powerful ones in the meeting, make all the decisions.
