I paid $24k to mastermind with 100 SMMA owners (here’s everything I learned…)

Brian Moncada spent $24k at a mastermind with 100 SMMA owners including Jeremy Haynes and Brandon Carter. He breaks down what he learned about marketing funnels, sales techniques, Instagram growth, and YouTube ads from the event speakers.
I'm about to spend the weekend with 70 plus agency owners who are all doing well over 30k a month. And we're here at Jeremy Haynes inner circle mastermind to spend the next two days learning how to scale our businesses the most up to date marketing and scaling strategies with paid ads. And I'm going to take you along the journey with me. Let's go.
We're just talking about making money, getting richer and you know how it is. How you doing brother?
Yes, sir.
So introducing the VSL deck sales letter. These BSLs, we've seen play rates, not even play through rates, just people who hit the page and press play. We've seen those statistics as high as about 5 to 9%.
All right, so Jeremy just got done doing his presentation. It was on how he is testing what's called the DSL against the traditional vsl. So a lot of you know, especially if you run ads for clients or you are someone who's running ads to a vsl, book a call funnel that a lot of times your sales team is spoiled because they want people to be indoctrinated.
They wanted people to be pre framed.
For the sales call on the offer, how it works, who it's for, they.
Wanted to be pre sold. Right.
But what Jeremy discovered as I'll show you in the notes, is that only about 5 to 9% of people after he looked at the metrics of the BSL across all those clients were were actually pressing play and watching the VSL 5 to 9%, which is crazy. So let me ask you, when's the last time you actually looked at the metrics on your vsl? It's probably been a long time, so you should check that. And so what does that mean? That means that obviously a lot of people just aren't watching the vsl. So how do you indoctrinate people pre.
Frame them to come to the sales.
Call obviously so your salespeople can have an easier time enrolling them in your program. Well, what he's testing is what's called the dsl, the deck sales letter. And basically it is a slide by slide presentation with no video.
It's about 20 slides or so.
That basically explains your offer. And what he found is when he switched to this DSL instead of the VSL, about 70% I believe actually got to slide 5 inside the presentation on.
The page which is pretty good. Okay.
Because you all have to stuff as much content as possible in that five slides to get them to obviously know about the offer.
And the other part about the DSL which is interesting, which is why I'm.
Going to be testing it, is that you can actually go at your own pace. Jeremy said a lot of people are tired of the traditional VSL when you.
Know you have to just watch through.
A total different like video. Like people know about the sophistication of the market. So high.
Right.
So a DSL allows them to skip through the presentation at their own pace. And he's seeing a lower cost per call as a result. He's seeing a no difference in the show up rate. Test it out for yourself. DSL versus the vsl. That is the first half of the day. We're about to have lunch. I'm going to keep drinking this agua de coco coconut water and it's a beautiful day in Miami.
Wish you were here.
I give you one, like I said, one implementable sales strategy that will add five to six figures in cash this week. Guaranteed. Guaranteed in your business. The theme for my presentation today is out with new crap and with optimization. If a business fails, tell me whose.
Fault is it If a business fails.
Yeah, right.
Don't eat carbs while you're working.
And let me tell you why your.
When you eat carbohydrates, they convert into glucose or vitamins. When your blood glucose levels go above 110 and your pancreas secretes a hormone called insulin.
Right.
What insulin does, its job is to funnel out all that extra glucose. The problem with that is what it does is it takes out all the nutrients.
Right.
That's why you get tired after you eat.
Here with the boy, Max Langfield, all.
The way from Germany. From Germany.
And he helps people. Just start copywriting, dude.
What would you say was your biggest takeaway of the half day so far?
Don't just focus on the marketing part, like just getting people into the funnel or signing up. But like what happens between signing up and the sales call or after the sales call has taken place and then before them drifting into Nevada and forgetting you?
Yeah.
How can you use marketing there?
Here with the boy, Jeremy Moser, the king of IG growth and monetization. We've been friends for forever and I wanted him to share his big takeaway from the first day of the inner circle.
So first thing, always get the Benjamins.
Always get the Benjamins, baby.
Always going to go wake up and basically like, how can I go make it impossible to go and make ROI driven tasks?
Yeah, that's the first thing.
Second of all, whether that be coaches, consultants, agency owners, got to go get your sales in check Whether that be not only front end, like how can.
I book more calls?
But even when people don't show up, when they don't buy, how can I max out cash collected out that both for us. Right. That makes a huge difference. For the agency owners. That makes a huge difference because now your roas on the front end and obviously back in over time. Fucking skyrocket focus. Which makes clients and us.
And you just did that with all your clients.
You literally trained their sales team alongside with the leader of the business because.
You realized there was a huge gap in them.
Right. And it helped you make more money as an agency.
Exactly.
So it's one of the things where.
Like you got of your way. Right. You don't steal other people's sales reps. Yeah.
You just go recruit them.
Right?
Yeah, yeah.
Go poach them.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Legally.
But if you go and do that, you create leverage by actually adding more value and two, it makes you more market. So it's like it's roi.
The client loves you because you're doing more than what a typical agency would do. And like the people we, you know.
Who are calling themselves agency owners, they just do one thing and then they.
Like, oh, you know, they got in.
The leads and it's gone. Right.
But what we do is we actually take more initiative and train their sales.
That's what it's like being an admin.
An admin.
Baby. Let's go. Okay, back from day one and I'm going to do a quick recap and go through the high level notes of everything that we learned from day one. So let's get into it. The first thing is going to be the deck sales letter. Okay, the deck sales letter. So the deck sales letter is a new strategy that Jeremy Haynes has been testing for his clients and he's been split testing it against the VSL because as most of us know, running and watching this video. Right. The problem with most VSL book a call funnels, people just don't watch the vsl. I remember Cole Gordon saying this as well at the Quantum Mastermind. The reality is most people don't even watch the VSL. About 70% of the calls being booked on the sales team's calendar is from the appointment setters. Only about 30% according to Cole were from the actual VSL. Jeremy's proving it right here with the deck sales letter because he actually is doing this strategy to address the low play rates of a traditional VSL funnel by replacing the video sales letter on a typical book. A call funnel with a deck Sales letter, okay, that is embedded straight onto the VSL page. This allows the consumer, the viewer from the ads, to consume the sales presentation at their own pace. They can click through it instead of being controlled by the video format. So instead of having to, you know, speed through a video sales letter, where most people in this market, especially if you're selling to a sophisticated market, are used to a video sales letter, they can just comb through the slide by slide presentation at their own pace and see what the offer is about, especially if they're on the fence. It's a direct, very direct offer. If it's interesting enough, if it's interesting enough, they will obviously book a call if they are in the right market. And so only 5 to 9% of people pressed play on the video sales letter page. That's horrendous is he's using Google Slides, okay, which you can obviously have analytics on to determine if people are combing through the presentation of the deck sales letter. And so when he put the deck in front of the VSL, 70% of people that hit the VSL page got to the fifth slide of the presentation. So you want to pump as much content as possible in the first five slides as you can, basically with a mini webinar. He also went into Chat GPT how he's using Chat GPT and what's called prompt engineering with ChatGPT to really create some amazing marketing material for ads specifically. So he actually is using prompt engineering to tell the AI to frame themselves as a popular direct response copywriter like David Ogilvy or any sort of famous copywriter. That's your favorite, right? And so here's an example what this looks like. You are David Ogilvie. You have written some of the best Facebook advertising and Instagram advertising copy over the 15 years. You can see how he's very prompt manipulating engineering the AI to really give him a very clear answer back. Most people that using ChatGPT right now, they're just kind of doing the very basics, including myself. This gave me a really specific framework to follow and need a specific framework to follow follow so that you can really prompt engineer what you want from ChatGPT. And Joel Yee dropped some bombs and basically those bombs were all around farming. When your sales team is sleeping or on vacation, who is working your leads? Probably nobody, right? So what do you do to make farming work? Farming, you just need a CRM HubSpot. You can collect phone number obviously to make sure that you have the phone number and then a willingness to implement. Okay, so the Farming versus follow ups. Follow ups equals sales activities within the typical sales cycle. Farming equals a sales activity after typical sales cycles. Farming is low hanging fruit. Because they've already booked a call with you. They're on your list. They were already interested at one point. They just haven't been followed up with after that 30 day period. Because your closers are mainly just focusing on the new leads. Okay. And he used the example. In the old days, people used Rolodexes to keep track of their pipeline, AKA this manual physical note card thing here with all of their contacts information, their address, their phone number and they would have a little bit of notes on them too. All of their prospects, they would keep track of it in this Rolodex. Now we have the luxury of automation, HubSpot CRM. So the rest is pretty in depth. I don't want to go through all of it. It's already on 15 minutes. Brandon Carter presented on a lot of good stuff as well. I'm going to save that for the Mastermind members as well as our clients. With all that being said, I'm going to go hit the sack. It's 956actually. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to finish watching Glover to share versus Jamal Hill. Baby.
Let's go.
Go. All right, see you guys for day two tomorrow.
So day two of the Q1 inner circle mastermind.
Day two of the Jeremy Haynes Inner Circle Mastermind. And if you want the notes, I'm going to be posting the Cliff Notes from day one and day two along with a loom video recap of each day in our free school group specifically for high ticket coaches, course creators and agency owners. You also get our seven figure YouTube ads, script and swipe file completely free as a part of joining the group. I'll put the link somewhere in the description so you can click it and join and get the notes from today, yesterday and obviously all of the bonus creative YouTube ad stuff that will get you inside the group. One of the biggest reasons why you should join a Mastermind is because of the people inside of it and all of the members you get to connect with. Now we just got done, finished eating lunch and it was just 30 minutes full of laughing, obviously talking about funny industry secrets and things like that. And you know that's one of the powers of masterminds, right? You make the money in the conversations and the networking and the relationships you build. Because not only are you learning some really advanced scaling strategies from the people presenting like Jeremy just did, or like Jeremy did yesterday. But you also get to meet other cool people who are on the same path as you. That's why masterminds are so powerful, because not only do you get the benefit of learning, you also get the benefit of networking, being in person, making memories.
Right?
And that's why I make these videos to share with you what it's like on the inside of a mastermind. That's high level, where you're actually learning really cool, valuable stuff that can help you on your journey and with your business or your clients businesses. And also share hopefully the vibe and take you behind the scenes to give you a real experience of what it's like to join a mastermind. So I would encourage you to look for a mastermind that you can join. Obviously we have our admin mastermind that.
Might be a good option for you.
But yeah, I mean, get in the room with the right people, learn the right tools to add to your tool belt and just keep going.
Now let's get into day two. Recap. Let me close out all these tabs so we can stay focused. Jeremy Moser, my boy, AKA the Instagram growth and monetization God, presented today on how to turn your client Instagram accounts into a money printer. Jeremy's worked with industry leaders like Sales Sniper, who's also a client of ours as well. So we're tag teaming that one together. Let's go, Jeremy. And then we have, he's got Bastion slot, he had Richard Yu at one point, who is now selling the same thing that Jeremy does, even though Jeremy's the one that taught him. But to each his own. Instagram is like a reality show. Okay? Instagram is like a reality TV show. See in real time what you are up to on a day to day basis, AKA your clients or your prospects can see what you're up to in real time. You can also share live insights or new things you learn every single day or week, which builds more trust, gets them to know I can trust you. And then over time you can build a community and a storyline through stories and content. Okay. Instagram stories are so powerful personally for me and I found that, you know, whenever I'm posting more stories about not even my business, just what I'm up to on a day to day basis, the food I eat, the quality of organic ingredients I buy, the plants that I buy, you know, how I structure certain things in my, in my personal life. People love that stuff. You know, the, the inside jokes with my wife, all that kind of stuff. So people, they, they want to be entertained Right. And if you're not posting Instagram stories.
Or if you're not using your Instagram.
To really, you know, build that personal brand, you're missing out. And obviously Jeremy's does this with all of his clients. And I think the computer. There we go, man. It was a little bit blurry. All right, where were we? What makes a million dollar a month personal brand? All right, so, yeah. What makes a million dollar a month personal brand? Well, first you got to be relatable and you have a. You have to have a compelling story. Okay. I think the worst thing that you can do is try to be someone who's just flexing all the time. And Jeremy was bringing up a few examples of this. And, you know, your story is just so unbelievable. You just got rich overnight, all that stuff. It's just not believable. Right? So relatable, compelling story, expertise and authority. Obviously, you got to be someone who's knowledgeable at what you're actually trying to teach people to do. Otherwise, you're just not going to have the actual south that you need to get people to invite to know, like, and trust you. And you got to have some personality. You got to have the sauce. Go do with the sauce. You got to have some sort of unique differentiator that separates you from everybody else. You know me, very authentic, very transparent, very real, very raw, very genuine. Very much critical of myself first and foremost. And I'm sharing. Sharing is caring, baby. So the more I share, the more you get helped, the more you trust me to help you. When you're ready to scale with YouTube ads, to add YouTube ads. I missed my finger as I was doing the two point. I hit my freaking computer. Add YouTube ads as an additional service to your YouTube ads agency so you can make more money with less clients, charge more high ticket add, percentage of profit and revenue. All those things. Right? So what's your personality? Obviously I brand myself really, really well because I'm not going to go into that. This isn't about me. This is about you got to have a personality. All right, we as marketers pay for every interaction. Okay, Jeremy brought up a good point. We as marketers pay for every interaction with a lead until an email address or phone number is collected. Imagine you can collect hundreds, if not thousands of emails every day and engage with them 7 to 20 times per day without them reporting, supporting you, or spamming them. AKA welcome to the world of IG shoutouts, Instagram shoutouts, which is what Jeremy is the best at. And so here is how it works. You pay a page like this for a shout out. This is nothing new. This is another traffic source. But this works because this is all Jeremy does and he crushes it. And we'll show you a case study in a second. Pay a page like this for shoutouts. They, the followers of that page, see that shout out, see that post from that page, they click and follow you as the client, right? And then you create and post content to obviously nurture them. And so you pay 50 to 100, $800 for a single shadow, depending on the follower count of the page, depending on the reach. And you can acquire followers for 2 cents to 8 cents on, 2 cents to 80 cents on the dollar. And on average a thousand followers turn into 10,000 followers sales and this can go as high as $40,000 for 1,000 followers. Alright, so Jeremy and his team spend between 3,000 and $20,000 a month on these shoutouts for you as a client and for their clients. And so that's pretty baller, right? Because the math just makes sense. And we'll show you in a case study in a second. So what makes a good ad? Okay, what makes a good ad? Well, he breaks down one of his top performing ads from Jeremy Miner right here. Specific made 2.9 million in commissions in one year. Okay, that's specific. Speaks to a target audience as a W2 sales rep, right? W2 sales rep who takes five to six calls a day and had a closing rate of 64.7%. Again, it's more specific because he's throwing in actual percentages, numbers of calls he was taking per day. And obviously this is for salespeople and then provides value and an outcome, right? So he here is a nine step framework I used that you can obviously use to do the same thing, right? Has a viral appeal. Okay, not too, too specific. I would argue that this one's very specific to the target audience that he's going for, which is why it works so well. So obviously take that with what you will. And then Jeremy was kind enough to share his seven day content strategy that he uses with his clients and he helps his clients implement. So on Monday they share a real, basically a transformation that they've achieved. Tuesday is a tweet, express an opinion or share a thought related to you and your industry. And this is where you just literally screenshot a tweet and then you post it as a obviously story, right? Or a post on your Instagram Wednesday. You can do a real, okay, tutorial around a frequently asked question or common misconception. Thursday is a thread and this is just where you're just writing a thread on Twitter. Go over a story, answer frequently asked question, handle objections, tutorial, right? You can see how this is all planning it out for you. If you don't know how to create content, you don't know what to share. This is, you can literally just use this, right? Friday, you can post another reel, break.
Down an outcome or the business model.
Saturday tweet, go over a transformation you've achieved. Inspirational Sunday. And then obviously free, you can pick a weapon of your choice, a meme reel or tweet. Right? Sunday's the Lord's day, baby, the day of rest. So you can choose whatever you want. And here's a case study. $1 million a month with IG shoutouts. The case study is Jeremy Minor. Okay, so they're averagely spending on ad spend, IG shout outs, 15 to $20,000 a month. And then their average new followers a month gained are 25,000 followers. The average leads a week they're getting from those 25,000 followers are 7,000 to 10,000. That means 7,000 to 10,000 people are opting in to the training to become a lead, right? Or dming them. Right? And then average money collected per 1,000 followers is $40,000 per 1,000 followers. Okay. Which if you do the math, total cash is 25,000. Okay, 25,000 followers paid from the shout outs. Get gained from the shout outs, I should say times $40,000 equals a million dollars. And that is what is just one case study of Jeremy Moser himself. And that was the biggest takeaway of day two. And so if you want these notes, okay, you can join our free school group. I'll probably be posting these in the school group. This is a school group. It's a free school group specifically for coaches, course creators and agency owners. Inside when you join, you get our seven figure YouTube ads script and swipe file for free. You also get Our high level YouTube ads strategy training for free, including how to create scalable offers, what the funnel should look like, how to structure the funnel, low ticket versus high ticket, and then our full video editing mini course for YouTube ads, specifically filmed by my in house video editor who's produced ads and edited ads for all of our clients since we've been in business. He is the best in the game. And you get his in house video editing course obviously for your editors or for your ads you can model. Plus bonus YouTube ad audits that clients paid us anywhere from $5,000 and above for for us to help consult with them on how to scale their ads.
They there's three of those calls live.
In there that are free and recorded for you to watch. Again, you can get those for free by clicking this link right here and joining our school group. And of course if you do, you'll probably feel like Jerry here who says is this great value or what? Do you agree with me? And I said, jerry, what's your credit card, my man, I will gladly check you out right now. Advent Mastermind, let's go baby. All right.
