I went to Cabo, Mexico to mastermind with 100+ multi-millionaires

Brian Moncada attended a mastermind event in Cabo with over 100 multi-millionaires. He shares insights on leadership, team building, and marketing strategies while interviewing other entrepreneurs about business growth and personal development in the info marketing space.
I'm about to fly to Cabo, Mexico for the weekend to Mastermind with over a hundred millionaires. Let's go. Bienvenidos a los Cabos Mexico. That means welcome to Cabo, Mexico for all of my non Spanish speaking friends out there. But don't get me wrong, if it wasn't for Colombia, I wouldn't be as fluent sort of as I am now. We got Bridger, we got Jesus behind the camera, which I didn't even introduce. Jesus, show them. Flip it around, bro. Show them who you are. The new newest creative director. Newest Creative Director of Adspin.com bringing to you the most high quality ads in all of the info marketing industry. And together we're going to spend the next four days in Cabo. So we're heading to the hotel right now, Grand Villas and we'll see you guys there. Okay, so we just got to the hotel. Jesus and I just got some food because we were starving and now we're about to go head upstairs to the Q and A and go Mastermind and meet the other members. Let's go. So when someone comes to me and they're like, yeah, I just can't get my YouTube ads to scale and I look and they have three ads over the last one or two years and they're blaming their media buyer, it's very hard for me to keep a straight face at that point with YouTube especially like obviously it's the new TV, right? So if you're getting a one minute ad and you're not telling any story or credibility and you don't have any brand and you're just trying to go for the nut immediately without any follow up or nurturing, and especially if your sales team can't close the cold leads, you're basically gonna get screwed. So I would say for us the biggest thing and our ROI is always the creative for us. But then we get bottlenecked by obviously the sales. So we're finally back in the hotel room after wrapping up the VIP Q&A session. And this hotel is pretty, pretty spectacular. In a minute you'll see the view right behind us of the ocean. So we got the beautiful beach and view behind me from our hotel room. You got the reception over there, which we're about to head to after we get some food in us because your boy's in a calorie deficit right now and I'm trying to bulk, I'm trying to put on some size and gain some beefy boy 2023. But I'm short so we got to get some calories, and then we'll head over to the reception and smoke this fine cigar. It literally says fine cigar. The only way an ad man knows how to. Which is by smoking it. So let's get some dinner and I'll see you guys. What's up, everybody? Back at it. Day one of the Cabo Mastermind. We just woke up, headed down to the beach. Now we're here, enjoying the beautiful sunrise and going to jump in the water, do a little cold plunge. I don't even know if it's cold, but we'll find out. That's the whole point. And start the day off right by moving our bodies, getting out of our head, and priming ourselves for the rest of the day to come. So let's go enjoy it, and I'll see you guys at the Mastermind in a few. All right, so we're at breakfast right now, about to head over to the Mastermind. But before we do that, we had to get some fuel in our body. We got some of the classics that I grew up with, growing up as a Hispanic American, which is some tacos, some huevos, some tocineta, and that's eggs and bacon, obviously. And I'm just practicing my Spanish, having fun, because we're in Cabo, Mexico. But a lot of big takeaways so far, especially last night, smoking some cigars and meeting with a lot of the other members. The number one thing of this weekend so far has been leadership and having hard conversations, leaning into hard conversations. When the standards of what you expect your team to uphold and ultimately as yourself, as a leader aren't being met, you got to have those hard conversations, number one, with yourself to be really real. Are you doing everything you can? But number two, with your team, in case they aren't holding those standards as well, and that's hard to do just this morning at our conversation as well, and that was one that was tough. It drained a lot out of me, which is why I'm getting some refuel. But that's why we're here. Going to drink this natural Hugo and head over to the eight figure boardroom Mastermind for day one to get it started. So let's go.
Like you've heard the. Heard the adage, you know, if you give a.
If you.
If you.
For a sales salesperson, if you say, hey, if you hit these numbers, you'll.
Get a Ferrari, you'll get, like, decent performance.
But if you give them the Ferrari and you say, if you don't hit these numbers, we're going to Take it away. They will dance to keep the Ferrari rocking.
Right?
And so the reason that is, as you probably know, is like, we're more afraid of going backwards or losing something than we actually are gaining it a lot of times. And so a big thing with people's pay is try to create structures in which will not back you into a corner or have built in reevaluations or reset after a certain time frame. Because it is. I mean, you could lose a really good person because people just freak out. Super crash. They freak out when. When they go backwards.
Normal play.
What's the role play?
I go, yo, everybody, stop.
Stop.
Cringer, what's wrong?
Nothing.
Something's wrong. Dude, you didn't come with the win. You don't look prepared. You don't look like you showered.
What's up?
How you feeling? No.
Other girls feel great.
I do.
Last week?
Yeah. Are you excited? Yeah. Just leave it. But, like, like, I'm not worried about dude, like, him being, like, over the moon, dude. You have so much energy. Like, nobody's gonna hear you. So, like, you can't expect your team to, like, be anywhere near you. But, like, let's say somebody was, like, pessimistic or, like, using downer language. I bet that happens lots of times. I was like, dude, how is your weak.
Who?
Well, dude, like, that's a dumb answer. Like, how is your week? Oh, dude, you should bet. Like, are you 2 years old? Like, tell me about your f. Cking week. Like, that's where, for me, it's unacceptable. Or, like, somebody doesn't have a win, whether they don't look dressed for the day. What I would do in those situations, I'd generally be like, hold on, stop. Like, what time did you wake up this morning? Be honest. What'd you do after you woke up? How much time did you spend preparing for this meeting? And then if that doesn't fix it, I'll pull them in the breakout room and be like, yo, like, I'm not letting you take calls until we talk through what's going on.
All right. I'm here with Susie. We just got done with the first day officially of the mastermind Crawford. She has an amazing agency if you want to scale with ads. I mean, she's one of the best people to talk to as well. That's why we connected so well.
Everybody here is so freaking smart and so successful. It's just amazing to be in a room with all these people. My biggest takeaway is that at every level, it doesn't matter if you're this big or this big. Like, everybody has, you know, something that they're working towards, and it's just amazing to, like, for people to be open and transparent and not be like, yes, I'm making multimillions a month, and I won't. I won't talk about it. So the biggest takeaway is don't be afraid to join these types of things, because the network you gain is incredible. And what you can learn at this level is just. There's nothing that compares.
So, yeah, have no ego. Share everything with your heart and be open and transparent, because that's the only way you grow. Right?
Yeah, exactly.
Thank you so much. Yeah, thank you. All right, I'm here with the boy Anas. He runs an amazing Amazon FBA agency. If you have an Amazon FBA store and you want to market it, grow it.
So the top takeaway is hiring superstars for your business. So you could always have A players, but the superstars take care of the business.
Yeah.
All together.
So what's the difference between the A player and the superstar? Because this was something that I learned as well. So this is a good point.
So the A players, they might send you things, hey, why don't we implement this? Or, this is broken. While the superstars will fix the broken thing and just say, hey, by the way, I fixed this.
Beautiful.
And you got to incentivize them enough so they need. You need to either be in a space like you know you are.
Yeah.
Where you're actually like, People are like, hey, for YouTube ads. This is where I need to come.
Yes.
And they'll kind of look for you to kind of grow them as well. Plus, with money, incentives.
Right.
So you have to make sure you're paying them enough back.
From day one here, I'm going to break down everything we've learned, and there's a lot. So let's dive right in. Let's not waste any time. The first thing, Cole Gordon went first, and it was on how to hire superstars, because there's a very definitive difference between a superstar team member and an A player team member. And this was one of my biggest takeaways of the day. So pay attention. Superstar characteristics. They can grow the company without needing constant direct effort or encouragement from you. Superstars can also recruit, hire, and train and manage the team, and they can also develop managers, which means they bring up other leaders in your company. They can solve problems end to end, completely on their own as well or better than you can, and they can find and solve problems without you even knowing. Superstars can do 10x the output as a players. And now how do you find these superstars? Seriously? Okay, the first is building a brand. You have to be very well known and respected to people in the know. So you got to be known around the industry. People got to be talking to you. You got to have a lot of good word of mouth, all right? The invisible hand. Alex Ramody talks about this a lot. Your invisible hand has to be really good, all right? Which is your word of mouth. Build an industry specific network. And you can do this by going to industry events just like we're here right now. Masterminds, Masterminds, Masterminds. This is why we have our own mastermind, because masterminds are so powerful. Go to industry events, get out, out of your house, behind your laptop, get your butt out of your seat and go meet people. Look for clients to add to your team. This one's the number one thing that Cole said. The best place to look for superstars to join your team is in your clients. People that have already bought your programs, your services and went through your coaching. People that are already in the know of who you are, what you do, and have bought it and have lived it and have resulted from it. Those are some of the top talents you can recruit for the business. Day two of the eight figure boardroom Mastermind just crushed a workout. It was one of the best workers I've ever had because everybody in the gym was also in the boardroom and they were pushing each other. You can hear Cole grunting, lifting heavyweight. Me and Jesus pushing ourselves. Last set, best set. And now we're about to go hit the buffet to get some fuel and start off day two off right. Let's go. Okay, so we're outside of the Mastermind, about to head in for day two to learn some amazing takeaways to share with you. But before we do, a quick announcement. If you haven't heard yet, our mastermind, the admin Mastermind, the first ever in person admin mastermind celebration is happening this New Year's Eve weekend in beautiful Miami, Florida, where for three days, the next generation of Alex Hormozis, Sam Ovens, Frank Kearns and Dan Henry's will be collaborating and sharing what's working for their businesses. And of course, we'll be sharing what's working for our agency and clients. Right now. If you haven't heard about it yet, go watch it on my channel. We just dropped the promo video. It's an absolute banger. And apply to join so you don't miss out, I guarantee you this will be the event of the year. But for now, let's head in. Let's see what Cole and the rest of the team have to talk about right now.
I joined the SCA back in March of 2021 doing 40k month and my closer was actually Mitchell. Shout out to Mitchell and it was funny, he's like, so what's the goal man? I said I want to do 100k month. So like 90 days later we hit our 100k month. And then 12 months after joining, we did our first million dollar month. And since then we've been gradually progressing. Last month we did about 1.6 new cash on $24,000 in ads today. And so is that good? The major difference often between a setter's skill set and closer skill set is like in call iq, right? So like what closers can often do that setters can't is like understand the prospect at a deeper level, ask better intuitive questions and have more context clues. So what you'll see, like you were asking for like indicators, what you'll start to notice with setters that are ready to close, they have a ridiculously high show rate, like 85, 90% because they're so good at recognizing who's gonna show and who doesn't. And then their call to close will also be at like this sounds crazy, but like 35 to 45% of set to close. What happens is they just develop. They have the skillset and the IQ to develop the intuition of who's gonna show and who's gonna close. And that's, that is the IQ and intuition that's going to make them a great closer. But if they can't hit extremely abnormal above metrics on show rate and set to close as a setter, their closing and sales IQ just hasn't developed yet.
So the first phase, let's call it 0 to 100 grand a month, is really finding out your optimal selling system. So it's like what are we selling? How are we selling it? It's having a consistent, repeatable way to generate leads and then a consistent, repeatable, predictable way to convert those leads into some sort of settings, right? And doing that from a cold, traffic esque type of traffic channel, right? So for instance, to really, really have a validated offer, in my opinion, you can't just base that on referrals. You can't just base that off of even, you know, sometimes organic social media because sometimes people aren't buying the offer, they're buying you.
Right?
And so one thing nice about getting ads up is or cold email, cold DMs. I mean, you know, even affiliates could be like this. And obviously organic can scale, but really getting that dial to a true cold audience, you know, it's the operator.
All right, what's up, guys? I'm here with Alberto Real, who I actually met, and Quantum Sam opens Quantum Mastermind, which if you haven't seen that vlog yet, you should, because even though Alberto wasn't there and I didn't get to interview him at that vlog, now you're going to get to hear from him because he actually has a new company that I'm super excited about in the promotion of spreading the awareness of how amazing psychedelics are.
Yeah. So Navy SEALs, they call it flipping the switch. And what they're doing is they're taking the Navy SEALs and the most elite people, which is the SEAL team seal. And they say the biggest difference between just the elites of the elite and the norm are people that can flip the switch, which means they get into this state of mind where, you know, they're 100% present, 100% focused. These guys are like working together like one organism, like consciously they're connected. And they're actually using psilocybin microdosing to create networks in the brain, man, that connect sides of the brain that normally wouldn't connect. Unless you're like a Buddhist monk that's been meditating for 20 years in a cave for like four hours a day, and they're doing it in 90 days.
Wow.
The enemy is resistance. The enemy is your chattering brain, which is if you give as much as a nanosecond, will start producing excuses, alibis, transparent self justifications and a million reasons as to why you can't, shouldn't, won't do the thing you know you need to do. Start before you're ready.
Day two just wrapped up. And before we go and head to the restaurant, the bar, and get some nice casual admin style celebration party favors, if you will, I wanted to talk to Yegor, the man, the myth, the legend, the one who actually helped me when I came onto sta8 figure boardroom with Cole and the team dude, I wanted to ask you what was your top takeaway from today? Because usually, you know, we survey the other members, but, man, for you, you crushed it. So, like, if you. What did you learn about the event of anything?
Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me was if you want to attract top talent, you have to be worthy of top talent. I think this is probably the biggest one you've heard this weekend. You know, if you want to build a superstar team, you've got to be a superstar yourself.
I, I work with a lot of.
Accounts and every time I see somebody wanting the best guy, they want that a player, somebody who can come in, no ramp up, close deals, run operations, but in the meantime, they can't even show up to a team meeting on time themselves.
I would say the biggest takeaway to in this mastermind overall is just like being part of a community of people that is just next level. And I've been part of like other masterminds out there and I've been part of like other communities, but this community itself, like the a figure boardroom, is one of the best out there.
You said you weren't even gonna go, right?
I wasn't even gonna go. Cuz I'm like, you know, coming to this resorts, flying out here, being on a plane for five hours, breaking my back, I'm like, is it really worth it? But I came out here and like, I'm just jotting down my, my, my hand's going like, yeah, I saw you.
Just scribbling in here. Yeah, exactly, exactly.
I'm like, man, these people really know a lot. And like sometimes it really just takes one thing for your business to really change. And that's all it is. Like one breakthrough. And that one breakthrough is the thing that really helps you scale really fast. And for me, that one breakthrough was for my business like YouTube automation. And I don't know what that breakthrough is for you. For you it was like YouTube paid ads, right?
100%.
And it was that one thing that clicked for you, that said, okay, this is the thing, and that is the thing that kind of propels you to.
Success a few moments later. Check this out. What we did was we wrote down because our mission and I wrote this down a while back, but it kind of clicked for me, right? Everything for me started back in personal growth, right? Courses, coaching, books, masterminds. When I learned self education, my life changed. Right? So what we want to do@adspend.com is educate the world through advertising by selling information products or coaching programs. Does that make sense so far?
Yeah. Yeah.
And then the way we do that is we create entertaining ads that educate. Educate. No. Yeah, educate the world. We create entertaining. As entertaining as that? Right? That, that's, that's, that's, that's an entertaining app, bro. Of course. Right? That's what people are missing. That's what you guys have in this company. Right. That's what you have built internally. What if we can deliver that same service to people that need it, who have similar products and services but can't afford that, don't have the capabilities to do that, don't have the time. Now we create their ads that are going to help them get leads, calls, and clients while positioning their brand as the go to expert in the space. And the mission behind the mission. The mission behind that mission is we help people become the main character of their own movie. That's the whole point of personal development, bro. Yeah. Make better decisions. Right. And. And just level up so you can live a happy life that you kind of look at the movies and sometimes be like, damn, that that looks so sick. I wish I had that. And you're like, well, I can actually do that now. Because you clicked on the ad that Adspen created for the clients that they work with that also sell information products that educate the world. Because of an entertaining ad by adspen.com, jamie, that's 10 million a year. Come on, dude. Hey. Ladies and gentlemen, we are back at the hotel getting ready to go over to the rooftop terrace to have dinner and celebrate with the other Mastermind members for a weekend. Worth celebrating being here for three days in Cabo, Mexico. All right? Practicing my Spanish Jesus behind the camera and ultimately getting top takeaways from some of the biggest and you know, best, most smartest entrepreneurs in this info marketing industry who are all sharing what's taking them to the next level and helping us go to ours. That pool session was bullets, baby. And that means fire. That means fuego. And we just got our action steps for the next 90 days. And now we're gonna have some food, have some drinks, smoke some cigars, and we'll see you there. All right, ladies and gentlemen, that wraps up an amazing Mastermind recap vlog, the ones that you so know, trust and love. And now we are going to end it right here because, well, the weekend's wrapping up and I'm gonna head back over to the rest of the Mastermind members and celebrate with them to end this amazing week. And I hope you enjoyed it. If you did give this video a thumbs up, leave a comment down below. If you loved it, I hope you did, and I'll see you in the next one. Until next time, keep smiling. Keep smiling. Keep learning, keep growing. And I'll see you next time. Peace. Everything there is to know about leadership and management. Someone's calling us. It was Antonio. Yes. Awesome. Thank you so much. Take care, Antonio. Bye.
What just happened?
Antonio. The boy Antonio just called us and said if you need anything, Senor Moncada, yame.
