A speaker argues that paying for courses and networking events gets you better results than free alternatives because people take paid opportunities more seriously. He says investing in self-education accelerates growth in business and life.
You got to pay to play. Because free will only get you so far. But when you pay to play, you're paying for speed. And when you pay, you pay attention. Not only do you pay attention, but they pay attention too. One of the easiest ways, fastest ways, shortcuts that I've ever used in my entire life was using my money that I was getting from my full time job and investing in my own self education. I was paying for courses, coaching programs, masterminds, and I was joining these things to learn more about how to grow myself, my business, my network. But I was also meeting a ton of people who were just like me in the same program, the same course, the same journey, on the same ride as me, who are also trying to make it. And as a result, we form friendships, we formed bonds, we formed strategic partnerships. You got to pay for speed. You got to put your money where your mouth is. You got to pay to play. Nobody likes the guy who's just trying to take, take, take, take, take all the free stuff and just try to consume the most of it and just be that guy. You want to be the guy who can take it okay, but also pay for it and then make sure they take you seriously. So when you pay, they pay attention. And when you pay, you pay attention too.
