A motivational talk on scaling a business. The speaker says team members will leave, criticism is inevitable, and you need thick skin to keep going. Resilience isn't optional when you're growing.
The one thing that nobody's talking about when it comes to scaling is that you need to have thick skin. The more you scale, the more criticism you'll get. The bigger your team gets, the more people will eventually leave because they just don't like working with you. That's just going to happen. It's inevitable. There's no world nowadays where you can't build a successful business without receiving criticism. Hate team members, leaving people stealing from you. All of these things that happen to businesses as they grow are normal. And you have to be okay with that. You got to be okay with rolling with the punches. Mike Tyson couldn't become one of the best boxers in the world if he didn't get jabbed in the face or punched in the face a couple times during every fight and take a few bruises as well. Have thick skin. This thing is supposed to be hard, and that's the whole point. Have thick skin. Enjoy the journey and take the punches. Roll with them if you can along the way.
