This is a YouTube video titled "Running Ads too early is a common mistake. Here’s why." containing a monologue or talk recorded in August 2024. The speaker advises new business owners against running paid ads before validating their offer with actual sales or interest, recommending organic outreach methods instead. The content focuses on marketing strategy for startups and small businesses.
The worst thing that someone can do is try running ads before they even have proof of concept that their offer works. Like for example, if you just started this business and you have no sales, nobody who's saying they're interested in it, but you're like, I want to do this, I need to hire an agency to run my ads to actually get customers. Big mistake. You have no budget, first of all, because it's a brand new business. You have nobody to tell you that this works because you have no data and no sales and you're going to waste a lot of money and more importantly, a lot of time because you're going to be testing with all your precious budget on cold traffic who are the hardest to actually get this thing to work. So if you're a beginner again below about 30k a month, don't run ads. Try to do everything you can to get in front of people in person online through organic methods like Instagram, like YouTube, like Twitter, like Facebook, like LinkedIn and have real conversations and actually make some sales before you start running ads.
