A marketer quit his job and moved cities to interview a top direct response expert, betting everything on the opportunity. He argues that sometimes you need to do something crazy to get what you want.
I quit my job and packed my bags and moved from Yorba Linda, California to Scottsdale, Arizona, for an interview. An interview to work with one of the best direct response marketers of all time, just to have a shot at creating the life I've always wanted. And before I did that, I remember my roommate at that time in Yorba Linda, California, who I was living with, telling me, dude, before you just quit this job and move everything you have from here to go there, wouldn't it make more sense to just go for the interview and if you get the job, you can come back and move all your stuff? And I looked at him and I immediately realized in that moment, he wasn't all in on himself. He didn't have the confidence that I had in that moment to know that if I do this and I go all in and I commit first and figure the rest out later, I'll get the job. That's the level of certainty you have to have when you have an opportunity to create the life you've always wanted. You have to commit first and figure the rest out later.
