This is a YouTube video titled "Stop with the extra charges #shorts" containing a monologue or commentary recorded in August 2023. The speaker discusses the negative perception of charging clients extra fees to cover Stripe payment processing costs, advising agency owners against this practice to maintain good client relationships. The content is a single-speaker opinion piece rather than a conversation.
Oh, by the way, we charged you a little bit more this month to make up for the stripe fees that they charge us for you to pay us. I hope that's okay. No, dude, it's not okay. Because I paid you for a service, and now you're being desperate and needy, and you're telling me you actually need me more than I need you. It's not a good look. Here. I'm the client. I paid you. Now you have to figure out how to deal with the stripe fees. If you're an agency owner that charges your clients a little bit extra off the top of what they're already paying you for the stripe fees, it's not gonna look good, and you should stop doing it immediately. Trust me. I thought about doing this when I first started my agency, too, but it was because I was desperate for clients and I didn't have much money. If you can adopt the mindset now that that extra fee won't really hurt you, it'll pay off for you in the long run in terms of clients actually liking working with you. Because nobody likes that guy that charges extra for the stripe fees. It's pretty much like the guy that asked you to Venmo him after you Uber with him, and he's your friend. Get out of here.
