Two marketers discuss how to test new creative angles on ads that already work, and find better targeting to scale them. They cover experimenting with different hooks and messaging while keeping what's proven, then matching those ads to new audience segments.
How often do you change up your creatives and do you test out? Like, do you wait until, like, an ad completely burns out? Like, your performance goes down and you start working?
How many ads have you tested so far?
Just three, to be honest.
Okay.
I mean, 1.1ad with, like, five different books, and then I found the winning hook.
You already have a winning ad, right? It's working. You got 15, you know, plus calls.
Your calendar was packed.
You couldn't take all of them. That's amazing. Now you want to take what's already working inside.
The ads.
And the targeting and be able to create new angles from that existing data, the proven data. That's working.
So I just keep on using the same winning audiences, testing out new creatives on a smaller budget, I imagine. And then if I find winning ones, I'll just push those out.
The key to scaling is with new creative 100%. Like, the media buying is a lot of it, but the creative is always the biggest thing. And so when you find a winning targeting and ad, you just keep testing new angles to that existing audience, and you just see what else can work better.
