This is a YouTube video titled "The Best way to work out!" containing a monologue by Brian Moncada recorded in October 2024. Brian discusses his personal workout philosophy focusing on performance, longevity, and health, emphasizing functional movements like running, jumping, walking, and throwing rather than heavy bodybuilding lifts.
My number one goal when it comes to working out is just performance. I was talking to Charlie last night, actually, on my team, and he's super into bodybuilding. Right. Heavy weights, heavy compound lifts. But the problem with those things is, over time, your body degrades. You lift so much weight, your joints will take an effect. Right. When you're older, you can't walk as well, you can't run as well, you can't jump as high, and your body starts suffering as a result. And so, for me, my workout goal is longevity, health, and especially in the four areas, running, jumping, walking and throwing, because those are all the key movements that we do as humans. And so if you're not doing workouts that help you with those movements, you're going to end up in a lot of pain long term.
