The Virgin Complicated Media Buying

A media buyer reflects on why campaigns succeed or fail, and what skills matter beyond just buying media. The speaker shares lessons from working with different clients and the complications that come with the job.
This meme is very real. This is the guy who is trying anything and everything from a tactical media buying strategy side to make the campaigns profitable. When I was working full time for Dean Graziosi, I thought I was a God. Now, what I mean by that was everything I touched turned to gold. Whenever I would launch a new campaign, it would work. I had this belief that I'm the best media buyer on YouTube ads in the world. And then I got humbled very quickly when I started to get clients reaching out to me, wanting to work with me on the side. And I was getting some clients when I would do the same things I was doing for Dean. Same strategies, the same audiences, the same tactics, the same targeting, it wouldn't work. And it was because I realized a lot of the people don't have the experience that Dean does. The wisdom, the knowledge, the business, the insights, the marketing. It doesn't matter how good of a media buyer I was. If the offer was shit, the creative was even worse, and the sales process was garbage. They couldn't close. But the reason why it would work was because of the creative and how consistently we were testing new ads in the ads account to actually spend the millions of dollars that we did.
