This is a YouTube video titled "Thumbnails are mandatory #shorts" created on August 30, 2023. The content features a single speaker explaining the importance of uploading custom thumbnails for YouTube videos to improve ad performance and avoid poor automatic thumbnail selection by YouTube.
So the thing is, you don't have a choice anymore. You're going to have to put thumbnails if you don't have thumbnails. The reason why I'm saying this is because if you don't have thumbnails, YouTube's going to choose whatever thumbnail it wants for your video. So your results are going to suck if you don't have a thumbnail. So you want to create specific thumbnails and upload them to your YouTube video for your ads.
