This is a YouTube video titled "Using “War Map” on Planning your Schedule to Increase Productivity" containing a monologue or single-speaker talk recorded on May 21, 2024. The speaker explains the concept of a "war map," a scheduling tool created by Sam Ovens, describing how they use it to plan daily activities and maintain productivity through a structured routine.
And a war map is what Sam Ovens made. You know, basically the gold standard of planning out your schedule. It's a Google sheet that looks like a calendar with all your months in one tab. Then it has each January, February, March, and like, different tabs, right? So, and there's five, like, slots to fill in for each day during that month. And so every single time before I go to bed, I fill out my warm app for the next day. Then I take what's on my war map and I plot it onto my Google calendar. So before I go to bed, I already know what I'm doing the next day. I have to plot my day the night before. That's the easiest thing you can do to get ahead, especially when you're scheduling. I mean, it's so simple, right? But it's like the. Those simple things that are also simple not to do. There is a bliss that comes from having a routine and a schedule. And so right now, Monday through Friday, it's like 4 to 7, deep work, writing, right? 7 to 8, 39, working out, sauna shower, 9 to 10, get prepared for the meeting. 10 o' clock meeting, and then 10 to like, you know, 5 o' clock is usually just working with my team on client projects or marketing, whatever.
