Charlie Morgan explains whether running ads hurts organic YouTube growth. His strategy: create a separate channel for ads to protect your main channel's organic reach. This keeps your core audience untouched while you test paid promotion elsewhere.
Here's the pitch, right? The pitch is, can you run ads from your organic channel and will it affect the growth with YouTube? Right? Charlie's points are very valid, 100%. It just depends personal preference. The easiest way around it is you just create a second channel specifically for ads. You can name it whatever you want. So Charlie Morgan, you know, business. And then you can, you can upload the same ads onto that second channel. You can link both channels to your ads account. So you have your organic channel linked to your account. You have your ads channel linked to your account. And what you can do now is you can run ads from your second channel and. But you can create remarketing lists from your main channel. The best campaigns that we launched with to start with, Charlie, and this is the strategy I pitched to them as well as like, look, why would we go cold first when the easiest low hanging fruit for us is creating an audience of his YouTube subscribers. Audience of his YouTube video viewers, like really engaged prospects. But it didn't hurt his, it wouldn't hurt his performance if he ran it from his ads channel. Because the ads are being ran from a second channel. We're just, we're just connecting the, the main channel for the retargeting audience. So that's the solution.
