Brian Moncada on why agencies grow faster by being selective about clients and focusing on results instead of chasing every deal. Slow hiring, high standards, and saying no to bad fits keeps quality up while you scale.
Just being more picky up front and being more selective because that's the way agencies really grow is what I realize is like, I think I've been so in the mood, like, sort of like selling clients. Selling clients, yeah. I've risked our reputation because although I do think we can get them results, I've been skipping the steps to make sure it'll be a long run. Not on purpose, but just because I know my back's against the wall as well with all of us here. So I'm thinking about the overhead, like the. And obviously we don't have the data in front of us. So all I'm thinking about is like, okay, well, now I gotta sell. But the way we scale this agency, and it is in our core values, is we scale by delivering graduated results. We convert our clients into our best salesman. Like it has to be from the fulfillment. And the marketing is just sharing what we're doing for the clients, which then attracts more clients. So it's this flywheel effect. But the problem is we've been doing too many things with two level people. We haven't had enough support. Just like in the regional hospitality, it says you gotta slow down to speed up. We're slowing down, but we're still doing really well. Right. We just have to understand where we're at. Yeah, exactly.
