YouTube Ad Breakdown: Why Dan Henry's Epic Pitch Challenge Sells (breakdown)

Brian Moncada breaks down Dan Henry's YouTube ad for the Epic Pitch Challenge, analyzing its structure, messaging, and emotional hooks. He shows how the ad works as a sales pitch and what makes it effective for viewers looking to improve their own marketing.
I made $32 million with this sales presentation framework. And not only am I going to let you steal it, I'm going to help you master it in just three days at the Epic Pitch Challenge.
This is a perfect example of what a great hook should look like for your YouTube ads. And today I'm going to be breaking down Dan Henry's Epic Pitch YouTube ad. He's used this ad to drive tons of signups, paid signups to his challenge that teaches business owners like you how to make one paid presentation to that gets them clients for life. And if you're a business owner who wants to drive traffic signups or booked calls to your agency, consulting or coaching company, you're going to want to watch this entire ad breakdown. Because in this video, I'm going to show you how to implement what I'll be breaking down for this ad into your own YouTube ads. And then you can go out and test this exact strategy for yourself. By the way, my name is Brian Moncada. I spent over $100 million on YouTube ads in the last five years for clients such as Cole Gordon, Charlie Morgan, Jeremy Minor, Brandon Carter, and Bedros Coolian, plus a whole hell of a lot more clients. But without further ado, let's dive right in and break down Dan Henry's YouTube ad.
I made $32 million with this sales presentation framework. And not only am I going to let you steal it, I'm going to help you master it in just three days at the Epic Pitch Challenge. If you are an entrepreneur in a service based, client based or education based business and you're good at what you do, but your numbers just aren't where you want them to be? Well, here's a question. How would it feel if you could create one single sales presentation that brought you clients for life with or without a sales team?
Okay, so 32 seconds in. And that hook was phenomenal. Like I said at the very beginning of this video, you're going to learn a true masterclass of YouTube ads in this YouTube video video. So what is Dan Henry doing? Well, let's break it down step by step. I'm going to play the first part and show you exactly why this hook and this ad is performing really, really well.
I made $32 million with this sales presentation framework.
And first three seconds, he's whispering. The camera zoomed in on him and he's referencing a iPad in his hand, which is the sales presentation. I've made 30. I've made $32 million with this sales presentation. Like what? $32 million. Why is this guy whispering who is he? And why should I care? Right? That's what I'm thinking about. Like, who is he? How can I make $32 million just like him? And what's a sales presentation?
And not only am I going to let you steal it, I'm going to help you master it in just three days at the Epic Pitch Challenge.
Now he's going into the offer, right? I'm going to let you steal it. Not only am I going to let you steal it, but I'm going to help you master it in just three days at the Epic Pitch Challenge. Okay, so that's already 11 seconds in. You're understanding what a $32 million presentation looks like. He's going to let you steal it. He's going to help you master it. It's going to be over three days at the Epic Pitch Challenge. Now naturally you're going to be thinking, what's the Epic Pitch Challenge? And is this something that I should even think about?
If you're an entrepreneur in a service based, client based or education based business and you're going to good at what you do.
Now he's doing what I call in the hook for every client that we work with is call out your ideal clients. Because again, Dan doesn't want any business owner to come to this Epic Pitch Challenge. He wants the right business owners, the business owners that he knows he can definitely 100% help and help them master their own paid presentation to get them the best results possible. And so you need to do this in your ads as well. So let's play that again and talk about what he did.
Renewer in a service based, client based or a education based business. And you're good at what you do.
He lists them all out and then he emphasizes. And you're good at what you do. But.
But your numbers just aren't where you want them to be. Well, here's a question.
But your numbers just aren't where you want them to be. Well, here's a question, right? Okay. If you're this type of person, right? And you're really good at what you do. Because he only wants to work with people that are actually good at what they do. Meaning they have the skill set, but they're just not making as much money as they know they could be or they should. Tying into their pain point right now, after calling out his ideal clients. Very smart. And then challenging them with I got a question for you. Right? Keeping them engaged. So now let's see what the Question.
Is, how would it feel if you could create one single sales presentation that brought you clients for life?
How would it feel, right? If you can create one, making it very easy, you just need to create one, only one paid presentation, sales presentation that can continue getting you clients for life. Not for years, not for months, not for a decade, for life. Okay, Already he's hooking you. If you are that type of person, right? $32 million sale presentation, he's going to let you steal it and he's going to actually help you create one just for your business that gets you clients for life.
Really solid hook, with or without a sales team.
And what Dan's doing here is very, very key because he's also talking about a very common pain point in the industry, managing salespeople, managing sales teams. And he's saying you can do this with or without needing a sales team. So he's giving you the option because if you have a sales team right now, great, this is going to help you make more money is what he's saying. But if you don't have a sales team, right? What if you don't have to have one? What if you don't need one because you have one paid presentation, one sales presentation that can continue getting you customers for life without even needing a sales team? A very key thing that he's saying because again, it's appealing to the average person who's a coach, consultant, course creator, high ticket service provider that's good at what they do, but they don't want to have to have the responsibility or the stress more than anything that comes with managing a high performing sales team.
And if you like your sales team, well, this will just make everything 10 times easier. @getclients.com we built a multimillion dollar business we could count on with one sales presentation while others struggled with complex sales funnels. And when you meet me at the epic pitch challenge, I am going to give you my exact blueprint.
So now he's going into the story. @getclients.com, which is his company, we've been able to make millions, right? Multimillion dollar business with one sales presentation that we could count on, meaning it was consistent, it was evergreen, and it always worked time and time again. While others, right, Maybe you watching this right now as you're watching this ad from Dan, are struggling to make as much money as Dan trying a bunch of different complex funnels. Maybe you got a low ticket school community, maybe you got a low ticket front end offer, right? Maybe you got A tripwire offer. Maybe you got a free lead magnet, A couple free lead magnets. Maybe you got a high ticket book, a call funnel with the sales team. Maybe you have a DM messenger funnel or campaign, right? Like you're probably trying all these things where Dan's saying, well dude, I could do multimillion dollars with just this one sales presentation. So now he's going into the credibility, the story and again re emphasizing the pain points of you. If you're watching this ad and when.
You meet me at the epic pitch challenge, I am going to give you.
My exact blueprint, second subtle call to action right there. And when you meet me and at the epic pitch challenge, I'm going to give you the exact blueprint once again, pre framing how they're going to be able to achieve that similar result as Dan was able to do for his business when they actually click the link, which he's going to go into in a second.
Look, we've all seen the endless ads, the cliches, the kids in rented Lamborghinis trying to tell you how to run your business. This isn't that. This is a proven presentation system backed by real data and thousands of hours of research into the tons of top producing sales presentations of all time.
So he's again disqualifying everybody who's wanting that fast cash, Lambo, you know, Ferrari type lifestyle where they're looking for quick, easy and more importantly fake. Because a lot of those kids are, you know, not here today. They were here yesterday, but no longer here today because they were scamming a bunch of people. And he's saying this isn't that. Okay, so good news, this is not that. This has proven by real data and thousands of hours mastered, which is again once emphasizing, once again emphasizing the credibility that Dan has after doing this for a few years and also for his clients, which is going into the social proof, the credibility aspect of the story in the actual ad breakdown, which you should have in your story. Hook, story close. He's hooked us now he's going to the story and he's talking about his company, what he's been able to do, how he's been able to help his clients do the same thing too. And, and how it's proven by data and not fluff or theory.
And we put this system to the test by spending over $7 million of our own money in paid ads.
Not only has this worked right, but he's also invested $7 million in proving that this system works. System. Notice how he said system there it's a proven system. And he spent $7 million on ads, which again, most people haven't even spent a couple thousand dollars on their business and ads. Obviously not you, because you're on this YouTube ads channel, helping you scale your business with YouTube ads and spending thousands of dollars a day. But for those people that are watching this ad, okay, I couldn't Even imagine spending $7 million on ad is what they're thinking. Well, if this guy spent $7 million on this, obviously it has to have some credibility, right?
And we turn that into $32 million in sales with a single sales presentation.
Seven invested 32 back, one single sales presentation. It sounds very simple. Again, he keeps emphasizing that because he wants to emphasize the fact that this is a very simple system, very easy thing to do. Very simple, not complex funnels. One single paid presentation. And it works and it's consistent.
But look, you've seen it happen. You've seen others that do what you do and become wildly successful and make crazy money. So, you know, you, it's possible. And you're watching this video right now. So I know you're smart because searching for a better and more efficient way to sell, that's just something smart people do.
And this is very key right here because what Dan is doing is he's talking to the person and meeting them where they're at. He's playing up them, right? He's putting them on a pedestal and like, basically showering them with praise like, you know that other people out there are making money and you know, it's possible for you to do it too. And, and I know you're smart. I know you're smart because you're searching for solutions to help you figure this out. And why is he saying that? Well, he's running YouTube ads. And the reason why YouTube ads are so powerful and we, the reason why my company is even in business today is because we help clients just like Dan do this exact same thing. We help them create what we call search driven ads. YouTube is a search platform, okay? It's owned by Google. It's the number two search engine in the world, maybe even the number one at this point of when you're watching this and you. And guess what? People go to YouTube to learn things or to be entertained. Guess what? When you have a problem, for example, if you have your car break down on the highway right now and you had to learn how to change your tire with the spare tire in your back trunk, where would you go to figure that out? Would you go on your phone and go to Facebook and type in how to change a tire. No, you go to YouTube and you watch a YouTube video from people that are literally calling their videos how to change a tire and use a spare tire to change your tire. You're going to watch a video from somebody who's changing their tire, figure out the nuts and bolts, the tools to use, how to do it step by step, and then guess what? You're going to actually do it because you want to learn how to do it, because you need to do it right then and there. Dan is advertising this ad on YouTube because he knows people like you are searching for how to get more clients, how to grow their business, how to scale without needing a sales team. And he's placing his YouTube ad in front of you the next time you watch any YouTube video, which is the power and beauty and just pure class of YouTube ads. So very, very key here. This is why YouTube ads are extremely effective. And he's playing into that with the script.
I want to take you from that feeling of being unheard to being a dominant force in your industry.
And Dan is also just doing something that I've never really seen him do. Maybe I haven't paid attention to him too much in terms of like his actual ads, but he's really acting out the actual script on camera. And again, this is a very key thing that I think most people overlook is like, everyone wants to run YouTube ads and just like, give me this script and I'm gonna go. Just say the words, right? But what Dan's doing here and the reason why, again, this is working so well and Dan's at the level that he is, is because he knows the power of conveying emotion. Right? You can have the best script in the world, right? Someone could have wrote this for Dan, or Dan could have wrote this for himself.
But.
But if he didn't act it in the way that he's acting it out right now, and if he gave it to somebody on his team who has, you know, no emotion whatsoever, they're not personable on camera, they don't have any energy, and, you know, they've never filmed any videos before. Do you think it's going to perform as well? Probably not, right? It's kind of like when you have the best script. Martin Scorsese, for example, could give you a best selling Hollywood blockbuster that's not yet been produced and said, I want you to, to be the lead actor, the lead role, the main character, and he gives you the perfect script that's going to set you up for success the rest of your life. But if you suck on camera and you don't have the energy and you don't act it out with full force and energy, it's not going to land as well. Because, for example, if he gave Leonardo DiCaprio and the Wolf of Wall street the same role as, you know, Jonah Hill, right, who was his right hand man, it's not going to work because Leonardo's the main character, he's the guy, and Joan is a supporting character. So what am I saying with this and why should you care? Well, it's not just about the words you say, it's about how you say them. Right. This is something that I actually coach my clients with all the time because I know that the best script in the world is not going to matter if they suck on camera. You got to have somewhat decent acting skills and Dan's using it. I want to play this clip real quick so you can see how he's using it. So check this out.
I want to take you from that feeling of being unheard to being a.
Dominant force unheard to being a dominant force. And he's saying it with emphasis and power and getting you to actually pay attention again. He's acting out the script and making it real, making it really come to life. This is a very powerful thing that I don't see most business owners doing. And you gotta really feel this, okay? The person watching this on the other side of the ad is somebody that you could potentially help with your business. That's why our mission here@adspend.com is to create entertaining ads that, that educate the world to make better decisions. Because we know when we help our clients scale their business with YouTube ads, somebody else watching that ad right now could potentially click, consume the information or pay for the product and service our clients are selling and dramatically transform their life forever. And so we have to convey that emotion into our clients. So that way when they film the ads for their business, they understand that because it's a very powerful thing. And Dan Henry understands it. He knows it, which is why he's using it to his advantage. And you should too, in your industry.
I want to help you take your business and your brand to a level of epic proportions.
Okay, so this was like really exaggerated, but I like it. It's like it. Epic proportions. And again, he's really leaning into it and he's, he's, he's acting out what is going to happen, right? Dominant force take your business to epic proportions. Right? Like really painting the picture. Of what can happen when you implement.
This system by helping you create an epic pitch.
Now he goes into the epic pitch again. Same thing, Helping you create an epic pitch. Here's the offer.
And if you're willing to step up, challenge yourself and take this challenge, I will help you create that one epic pitch. And I'll do it in just three days at the epic pitch challenge.
Another call to action at the epic pitch challenge. Again, not subtle. Not like, hey, click the link, go sign up. It's like a, hey, and I'm going to help you do all this epic size proportions at the epic pitch. I'm going to create an epic pitch with you for three days at the epic pitch challenge. The third time he said it again, getting the person to think, okay, I got to click and see what this epic challenge is about.
So here's the big secret. It only takes three things to be incredibly successful at selling online or in.
And you can tell he's still in the story aspect of this script right here. Now he's going into the education part. There's only three things it takes to actually be successful, and here's what it is.
You fill the room with the right people, you say the right thing, and you make the right offer. That's it. If you can do all three of those things, it's pretty hard not to make money.
Here's a story breaking it down. Super simple. Fill the room with the right people. Because you don't just want anybody there. You want the right people. Which is why his ad is very specific to his ideal clothes. He called them out in the very beginning, talking to his ideal audience. You got to want to do that if you want to have success with YouTube ads. Not a bunch of low quality leads and tire kickers. Say the right things and make the right offer.
That's it. If you can do all three, that's it.
Right? Making it seem very, very easy.
All three of those things, it's pretty hard not to make money. Here's a story I don't like telling much because it's embarrassing. Early in my career, I worked at a sales job and I was terrified of. Of presenting. I had a stutter, I had zero confidence, and I told my manager nobody would buy from me.
He's then relating to the business owner. Watching this right now, that's thinking, well, dude, I'm not you. I'm not as good on camera as you. Like. I was explaining earlier with the acting piece, I can't do this too well. Let me tell you a story that I don't really share often because it's embarrassing being vulnerable with the business owner who's thinking like, damn, dude, like, this sounds great, but like, I don't know if I can do this. I had a stutter. I sucked at sales. It didn't work for me. But here's what happened.
And he held up a sheet of paper and he said to me, we've spent millions of dollars crafting the words on this page. Do you really think you're that special that they won't work for you? That day I earned more in commissions than I did working two weeks delivering pizza. A job that I did for seven years. And that's when I learned you'll never be broke if you know what to say.
Hi. So there we go, right? Like he told the story again, using an analogy, using an emotional story to get these people to realize that it's not about how you say it, it's about what you say. Right? So obviously it is about how you say it as well. But he's really letting them see that if as long as you follow what he's going to teach you in the three days for the epic pitch challenge, it's very hard for you to mess it up because he's proven again with $7 million in ads, like he stated earlier. And this is what's crazy is we're 3 minutes and 15 seconds into the ad and now he's about to actually introduce himself, which is pretty awesome, actually.
Hi, I'm Dan Henry. And that day I developed a passion for marketing and sales. And I used what I learned to grow a multi eight figure company that is getclients.com social proof, credibility.
Hey, I'm Dan Henry. That day is the day my life changed forever. I got a passion for sales and marketing. Multi A figure company. Get clients dot com. Right. Okay, here's who I am. Here's why you should trust me. Here's why I am credible. To talk about what I'm talking about right now.
Think about it. What is the most valuable tech company of all time? Apple. Who sold Apple to the world? Steve Jobs. What did Steve Jobs do every single year to sell more Apple stuff? He did a presentation. He did.
Now here's what's cool about this ad that I hope you're paying attention to because I just noticed it as well, and I didn't make this note yet is that it's not just like a one basically streamlined, nonstop ad. He's saying the lines of the ad, but it's in spurts. Like it's edited in a way where it's keeping you engaged. Almost like a vlog back in the days where the vlogs would be very cut. Like, it'd be like any dead space was removed. Like, think Logan Paul, Jake Paul, back in the day. Like, any of those vlogs that you watched or vloggers you watched, they didn't have, like, long drawn out, like monologues without any hypercuts. It was always like, quick pace, quick pace, quick pace. Dan Henry's doing the same thing. Like, every line is said in a different take, almost. At least it seems that way. Which, again, keeps the viewer engaged and not boring. Right. Again, your YouTube ads need to be educational but also entertaining. You want to create edutainment, okay? People go to YouTube to learn more or to be entertained. So you don't have to be, like, crazy on camera and do all these wild things. You just have to be able to deliver your message in a very compelling way. And have your editing also do a lot of the heavy lifting, which is a very key thing that Dan Henry's doing as well. Because this isn't like he's in a bunch of, you know, different sets with a bunch of different actors or actresses. He's in the same set for the same ad for the same time. Every single take, like, the same words are being said with the same exact setting. But the editing is what's doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
An epic pitch every single year. The unfortunate and sad truth of this world is that people don't buy good products. They buy products that sound good. And so if you have a good product or service, it is an absolute travesty to not embrace these principles so that it can sound as good to your customer as it truly is. I don't care how rich the gurus are. They make marketing and sales way too complicated.
Again, appealing to the business owner right now, which is very, very key. Not the. It's not the best product who wins. It's the best person who can communicate the value of the product and say the best words to make people want to buy. Once again, emphasizing that it's not about what you do that's going to make you the most money. It's about how you communicate your actual value. It's going to make you the most money. And we all know this to be true, right? You can have the best product, the best service, the best SaaS, whatever it is in the world. But if you don't know how to clearly articulate the value proposition to the Marketplace and get them to actually be interested in buying. You're never going to make money. So it's the words you use, which is what Danny, Dan Henry, Dannery Dan Henry, again, is using to emphasize the epic pitch.
I aim to make it simple so you can actually use it. So my advice, grab yourself a general admission or VIP seat to the Epic Pitch Challenge.
So now he's going into the call to action. And again, before he does, he's emphasizing what most people are probably struggling with right now that are watching this ad is in this journey of their business. Most of the other gurus make marketing and, you know, sales super complicated, where I aim to make it stupid simple with one sales presentation to make it as easy as possible for you to understand. And then he goes into the call to action. So I would recommend and encourage you to buy a ticket, general or vip, to the Epic Pitch Challenge, which is the call to action number one officially.
And I highly recommend you grab a VIP ticket because there is a VIP hour before, before each general admission session where you get to work with me directly. And I'll bring select VIP members on and do live offer and pitch makeovers.
Okay? So now you get the offer. You can do general admission or you can do vip, but here's the reason why you'd want to do vip. More access, more handholding, more exclusive, you know, coaching from Dan one hour before the actual live training, which makes up for the price of the ticket. If you're someone who's very serious and you want to work with Dan directly.
So you definitely don't want to miss that opportunity, I highly suggest the VIP option.
Another one. I highly suggest you do VIP to the person who wants that VIP experience.
So here's the deal. You can join the masses and you can invest in cheap solutions, or you can invest in something that actually works.
Okay. You can join the masses and invest in cheap solutions, which he's, again, appealing to the person who just wants everything for free. Right. Which this is not very clearly. So you can also do that if you want, but that's for the masses. And if you want to be like them, totally fine. Or you can invest in what he's going to say here, which is.
And you can invest in cheap solutions, or you can invest in something that.
Actually works, or you can invest in something that actually works. And again, invest in something that actually works, not get something invest, because what he's offering is an actual investment. And in this business owner's, you know, business skill arsenal, their actual skill set as a business Owner to learn this thing. It's an investment. So you got to pay. You got to pay to play. And the VIP option is the best way to do that.
If you're serious about transforming your business, grab your seat now and trust me, you'll want the VIP experience. That's where we roll up our sleeves together and make magic happen. Step up and take the Epic Pitch Challenge. I cannot wait to meet you there.
And again, VIP call to action. Once again, roll up our sleeves, make the magic happen. Step up and join the Epic Pitch Challenge. Because he's challenging you, calling you out and saying, are you worthy enough to do this for your business? And if you are, then come join me at the Epic Pitch Challenge. And I can say, after buying this offer myself, let's see if there's actually anything else left. Okay, last thing in screen right, 10 second countdown timer. You always want to have this in your YouTube ads for the most part, to make sure that even though you're done with your script, you give the Viewer an extra 10 seconds at the maximum. I've seen people do this for like 20 seconds. That's almost too overkill. 10 seconds max, with a little subtle call to action that says, click the link to get your ticket. In this case, with a countdown timer to give them more time to actually click. Because again, you want to let them sink in with what you just told them and then give them an extra 10 seconds to click. So Dan Henry did that. And again, I personally bought the VIP experience. I attended the Epic Pitch Challenge. It learned a lot of things, hosted a webinar last weekend, helped me out a lot. So shout out to Dan. This ad was amazing. Now, the cool part about this ad is that it's over three minutes. And typically in most cases nowadays, YouTube says they'll actually penalize ads and basically, in terms of cost per impressions, charge them more for ads that are over three minutes. Now, whether or not that's true, it's to be obviously determined, because what they're really saying is you should optimize your ads for less than three minutes in length. But Dan Henry knows that good sales and good copy and good marketing will typically always be as long as they need to be to communicate the message to the person you're actually talking to. So his is 5 minutes and 11 seconds. And here's why I believe this works even better than the typical three minute ad. Because he needs to do more selling. He needs to sell the person on not just the Epic Pitch Challenge, but also getting a ticket and. And not just Any general admission ticket, a VIP experience ticket to get more hands on access to Dan, which again needs to be done in a longer timeframe. So do your ads have to always be less than three minutes? Well, Dan Henry is doing a five minute ad to get somebody to actually purchase a ticket right then and there from this ad to sign up immediately. So sometimes your ad just needs to be, as long as it needs to be to deliver the message coherently, you, you know, congruently and more importantly, just very, very strategically to get somebody to actually take action. So with that being said, this was a phenomenal ad and I actually enjoyed joining the epic pitch challenge myself. I bought vip. It was worth it. I would encourage you to do the same thing. And if you're a business owner who wants to actually start and scale your business with YouTube ads, I would encourage you to click the link in the description to apply to work. With my agency. We actually help you create all your ads, set up your campaigns, choose all the best targeting, get you launched, and help you optimize and scale, scale your entire sales system, your funnel and sales process to make sure you're profitable. But if you're someone who wants to watch more YouTube ad breakdown just like this one, I broke down Alex Hormozi's ads recently for School.com, you're going to want to watch it because it's the exact opposite of an ad like this, but it still works and there's a reason why, which I explain in this video right here. So click the link and I'll see you there. Cheers.
