Bristol asks you to look around the room you're in. Your eyes tell you that you are looking at objects— furniture, windows, fabric, a lamp. But in reality, he says, you are looking at thoughts. Every one of those things existed first as an idea in a human mind before anyone built it. The chair was a thought. The window glass was a thought. The building around you was a thought. The automobile, the skyscraper, the airplane, the sewing machine, the humble pin. all of it came from one source. Thought is the original source of all wealth, all success, all achievement. And that means your own thoughts are building your own life right along with everything else. Hard work alone, Bristol says, is never enough. The world is full of people who have worked hard their whole lives and have little to show for it. Something more is needed— creative thinking and firm belief in your ability to carry out your ideas. And that starts with knowing exactly what you want.
