The Law of Attraction's second law is concentration, which works like a vortex drawing desires to your focused mind. The speaker traces this idea to a 1949 sales manual and argues true memory comes from observation and sustained focus, not repetition.

The second law is concentration, and this is the passage that I would put in front of anyone who thinks the Law of Attraction started in the 2000s. He says, did you ever stand on the bank of a river and watch the water as it whirled around a center or vortex in the stream? Did you observe how that vortex or center drew to itself everything that came floating down the current? Then That was an active, positive center distinct from any other center or vortex in that stream, and because of its individualized strength, it had the power of attraction, and everything was drawn into it. When you concentrate your mental forces, you become the vortex or center of intelligence, and you can draw to yourself anything whatsoever you desire. You become the vortex. Concentration, from the Latin concentrum, to center. Corbett defines it as holding the mind on a subject to the exclusion of all others. And notice how physical his model is. A whirlpool draws things in through structure rather than effort. It is organized motion in specific location, and the river delivers it. Sustained attention Is that you establish a center and what floats down the current arrives. That's 1949 in a sales manual, and it is better stated than most of what gets sold as teaching now. The 3rd law is memory. You never forget what you remember. You forget because you forget to remember. Memory from memor, meaning mindful, to be mindful of the thing you want to remember. He says, to memorize a thing by rote is one of the quickest ways to forget it. Memory is more than memorizing. Memory in his model runs on observation and concentration rather than repetition.
