I Read Every Joseph Murphy Book Here Is What Nobody Talks About

Brian Scott claims Joseph Murphy's published books omit the esoteric core of his teaching: a hypnagogic technique called the "place of meeting" where feeling-saturated phrases reprogram the subconscious. Murphy learned this from Abdullah, an Ethiopian rabbi in Harlem, and paired it with a five-step prayer protocol and daily healing words that Scott says produced documented cures and financial breakthroughs.

The psychological reading is the depth. Murphy gave specific decoded interpretations in book after book, and I loved them all. I've done my best to share them with you. Once you learn the code, the entire Bible opens up in a new way. I would say even further than what Neville taught. Joseph the dreamer with the coat of many colors is the imagination. Welcome to the Reality Revolution. I'm your host, Brian Scott, and today we're going to cover Joseph Murphy, and we're going to go deep because the truth is I've read every Joseph Murphy book, every lecture, and I want to dig deep about what nobody talks about. Let me take you back. The doctor said it would kill him within 6 months. Man refused surgery. He refused radiation. He refused every conventional treatment available to him. He chose instead to sit in a chair 20 minutes every morning and 20 minutes every night and repeat one sentence: the wholeness, beauty, and perfection of the infinite are flowing through every atom of my being. Over and over again. That was it. No medication, no procedures, no second opinion. Just one sentence. A sentence repeated in a specific mental state, sinking into a specific layer of his mind, doing something to his body that the medical science of his era could never explain. 30 days later, the lesion was gone. The cancer never returned. The man lived another 40 years. He preached every Sunday to 1,500 people in Los Angeles. He hosted a daily radio show heard by millions across America. He wrote over 30 books on the technique that had saved his own life. His name was Joseph Murphy. You may have read his most famous book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. Which has sold somewhere between 15 million and 100 million copies worldwide. It sits on more bedside tables than almost any other self-help book ever written, and almost everyone who has read it has failed to make it work. That's the truth nobody tells you about Joseph Murphy. I've read every book Joseph Murphy ever wrote. I've read his work on this channel for almost a decade. I've studied his lectures, applied his techniques. We've We've created meditations around his teachings, recovered the methods the modern self-help industry sanitized out of him. What I'm about to tell you is what I have learned. The Joseph Murphy you think you know is a ghost. The real Murphy was something else entirely— a man who studied with a mysterious Ethiopian rabbi in Harlem, a man who was trained as a Catholic Jesuit and walked away from the church after witnessing a healing his theology could never explain. A man who served as an army pharmacist in World War II. A man who traveled to India to study with Hindu sages. A man who wrote books on astral travel, telepathy, the I Ching, and how to pray with a deck of playing cards. A man who built a single technique into a method that healed cancer, restored sight, repaired marriages, Multiplied incomes and reshaped the inner lives of millions of people who never knew his name. Technique's still here. The method still works. It just got buried under 60 years of self-help noise. We're going to dig it back up. This is the method they erased. Let me start with the misunderstanding. Most people who quote Joseph Murphy have never read more than one of his books. They've read The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. They've skimmed it. They pulled out the palatable parts. They've reduced his entire body of work to a few sound bites about affirmations and visualization. This is the man as the modern self-help industry packaged him— a genial old uncle of positive thinking, a friendly voice telling you to imagine your goals and repeat phrases until they manifest. That man never existed. The actual Joseph Murphy was a far stranger figure. He was a mystic, scholar of comparative religion. He was a healer. He treated his own life-threatening cancer through pure mind work. He was a believer in clairvoyance, precognition, astral travel, and the predictive power of dreams. He wrote entire books on how to use playing cards as a divinatory system. He spent years studying the I Ching. You have to read Joseph Murphy's book on the I Ching. He drew freely from Catholic mysticism, Hebrew Kabbalah, Hindu Vedanta, Chinese divination, and Christian Science. He believed the Bible was a psychological textbook written in code, and he spent his entire teaching career breaking that code open for ordinary people. Very, very, very similar to Neville Goddard, but actually much easier for me to digest and understand. You may not have read any of his modern summaries of his work. Here's why. When Joseph Murphy died in 1981, his books were already bestsellers, but by the '90s and 2000s, they had been reissued, repackaged, abridged, and condensed into volumes that emphasized his most marketable material and quietly removed everything else. The mystical content was edited out. The psychic content was downplayed. The biblical interpretations were stripped. The specific techniques were softened into generic affirmations. The Joseph Murphy who appears in modern self-help culture is a censored version of the actual teacher. I've read the unedited versions. I've read the obscure titles. I've read the letters and transcripts almost nobody else has read. His coverage of Psalms, the Wheel of Life, So many other books. And I can tell you, the real Joseph Murphy was operating at a level the modern subconscious and mystical crowd has no awareness of. I'm going to share with you what he actually taught— specific techniques, the specific biblical interpretations, the specific meditations he gave his Los Angeles congregations, the complete method as it was originally transmitted. You've read The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and felt that something was missing, something incomplete, something that almost worked but never quite came together. You were right, something was missing. To understand Murphy, you have to understand the moment his old life ended. He was born on May 20th, 1898, in a small village called Ballydahob in County Cork, Ireland. His father ran a private boys' school. The household was devout Catholic in a devoutly Catholic country. There was no ambiguity about the path a bright Irish Catholic boy followed. You went to seminary, you became a priest, you served the church for the rest of your life. Joseph followed the path. He was accepted as a Jesuit seminarian, the most rigorous order in the Catholic Church. He studied Latin and theology He simultaneously trained as a chemist, earning his pharmacy credentials alongside his religious vows. And then in his late teens, something happened that broke him. He witnessed a healing. He never specified the details. He spoke of it only in general terms. Decades later, in the only autobiographical interview he ever gave, he called it an experience with healing prayer, something he saw. Something he participated in that revealed to him that the official Catholic theology had been taught failed to explain what had just occurred in front of his eyes. A person was healed. The healing came through belief. It came through a state of mind. It came through something accessible to anyone willing to enter that state. The church taught that miracles require saints, papal authority, and the intercession of God. The healing Joseph witnessed required none of these. It required only the quiet, focused, feeling-saturated conviction of a single human mind. He could no longer believe what the seminary was teaching him. He withdrew from the Jesuits. The decision broke his family. It broke his future. It cost him every plan that had been laid for his life. In May of 1922, he boarded the RMS Cedric in Liverpool as a steerage passenger. His occupation listed on the ship's manifest was chemist. He was 24 years old. He had almost nothing. He was crossing the Atlantic to find a teacher who could explain what he had seen. He arrived in New York Harbor, found work as a pharmacist, and began searching the small esoteric circles of the city for someone Who understood. And in a small apartment in Harlem, lit by a single oil lamp, he finally found him. The teacher's name was Abdullah. He was tall, dark, and ancient. He wore robes, kept his apartment lit by a single oil lamp. He taught small groups of students who came to him through word of mouth, sometimes one at a time, never advertising or charging large fees. He was the same Abdullah who in those same years was teaching a young Barbadian named Neville Goddard. 2 of the most influential mind power teachers of the 20th century received their training in the same room from the same man at the same time. Murphy described his first encounter with Abdullah in the only autobiographical interview he ever gave. A Canadian researcher named Bernard Canton recorded it in 1980, a year before Murphy's death. Once again, an amazing find by Cool Wisdom Books. The interview was published only in French under the title Joseph Murphy, C'est Rancanté, à Bernard Canton. It has never been translated to English. Almost nobody who quotes Murphy has ever read it. What Murphy told Canton about the first encounter was this: he walked into Abdullah's apartment He sat down, and Abdullah immediately said to him, you are one of 6 children. You believe you are one of 5. You are wrong. Murphy was stunned. He had grown up believing he had 4 siblings. He wrote to his mother in Ireland that night. The reply came back across the Atlantic. There had been another child, a boy born Joseph, stillborn within hours of his birth, buried without a marker, erased from family conversation for nearly 30 years. Abdullah had named a dead brother by reading something Murphy himself had no access to. That moment changed everything for Joseph Murphy. The Ethiopian rabbi was the real thing. The teaching Abdullah offered was no theory. It was a working method. It produced results. Murphy studied with Abdullah for years, and Abdullah gave him one core teaching that would become the foundation of everything Murphy taught for the next 5 decades. He called it entering the place of meeting, the specific relaxed condition somewhere between waking and sleep in which the conscious mind grows still and the subconscious becomes receptive to direct impression. Taught Murphy to enter this state deliberately, to plant a single clear thought in it, and to hold the thought with calm feeling until the deeper mind accepted it As a finished fact. This is the technique I will give you, the method that healed Murphy's cancer, the method the modern self-help industry has buried for the last 60 years. This is the sleep treatment. Murphy taught his students that the subconscious mind is most receptive to suggestion in the few minutes just before sleep and the few minutes just after waking. This window has a name. Modern neuroscience calls it the hypnagogic state. The borderline of consciousness, where alpha and theta brainwaves dominate, where the critical filter of the conscious mind has begun to dissolve, where any thought held in the imagination passes through almost unfiltered into the deeper layers of the mind. This was Abdullah's place of meeting. This is what Murphy later called the prayer state. He taught a specific protocol. You lie down, you allow your body to relax completely. You begin at the toes, you move slowly up through the legs, the torso, the arms, the shoulders, the face. You let every muscle release. You let your breathing become slow and deep. You let the surface mind grow still where the body is fully relaxed and the mind is drifted into that quiet edge of sleep. You bring forward a single chosen phrase. You repeat it slowly. You feel the truth of it. You let it sink in like a stone dropped into deep water. The phrase has to be specific, felt. It has to express the completion of your desire, never the seeking of it. I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy. Divine wisdom is making every decision for me. The infinite intelligence within me is opening the door to prosperity. You repeat the phrase, you feel it as already accomplished. You let yourself drift into sleep with the phrase still moving through your awareness. This is Joseph Murphy's sleep treatment. Murphy taught that subconscious works on impressions you give it in this state. For the entire night while you sleep, the impressions sink deep. They reorganize your inner world. They begin to attract the corresponding outer conditions. You wake the next morning slightly changed. You do it again the next night, and the night after, and the night after. Over time, the inner picture and the outer life come into alignment. The phrase becomes the fact. This is the technique that healed Murphy's cancer. and he gave to thousands of people over 5 decades of teaching that produced case studies that fill his books— the stories of healings and reconciliations and financial breakthroughs and answered prayers. It works because it bypasses the conscious mind, the conscious mind with all its doubts and arguments and critical objections. The sleep treatment slips past the gatekeeper while he is half asleep. The deeper mind receives the impression directly. Most modern subconscious mind teachers have replaced this with affirmations repeated in front of a mirror. Murphy would consider this a waste of time. The conscious mind is fully alert in front of a mirror. The sleep treatment is different. It works. I've used it for years. I've watched it transform conditions in my own life. I've seen members of this community apply it And produce changes that conventional psychology would consider impossible. This is one of Murphy's methods. It has been hidden in plain sight. Let me give you the story from his books to show you what it looks like in practice. Murphy describes a young woman who came to him in deep despair. She was unemployed, broke, about to lose her apartment. She felt invisible to the world. She had been praying for months And nothing had shifted. Murphy taught her the sleep treatment. He gave her a single phrase to use as she drifted into sleep each night: Divine intelligence within me is opening the perfect door at the perfect time. She did it for one week. On the 8th morning, she received an unexpected phone call from a woman she had met briefly at a party 2 years earlier. The woman was opening a small business and needed someone to run the office. The salary was 3 times what the woman had been earning before. She started the following Monday. Within a year, she had become a partner in the company. Within 5 years, she owned a piece of the business outright. Murphy collected hundreds of stories like this. They fill his books. They were sent to him by listeners of his radio show. They were shared from the platform during his Sunday services. Marriages restored, diagnoses reversed, Estranged children returning home, lost objects recovered, lawsuits resolved, children conceived after years of infertility. The case studies span every condition the human mind encounters. The common thread is always the same: a specific phrase planted in the prayer state, repeated with feeling, released into the deeper mind, allowed to organize the outer conditions of the life. Joseph Murphy spent his entire life reading the Bible. He read it every morning, read it in Hebrew, read it in Greek, he read it in Latin. He read it through the lens of the psychological mysticism Abdullah had taught him. He read it just as voraciously as Neville Goddard, and he taught the Bible is a code. This is one of Abdullah's central teachings. You see it in Neville's teaching and Joseph Murphy's. It's Scripture is a record of psychological states. Every figure in the Bible represents a faculty of consciousness. Every story is the description of an inner process. The literal historical reading is the surface. The imagination is the favored son of consciousness, gifted with vision, capable of seeing futures that have yet to arrive. His brothers, the rational faculties, are jealous of the imagination and try to suppress it. They throw it into a pit. They sell it into slavery. But the imagination survives. The imagination rises in Egypt, interprets the dreams of the Pharaoh, and eventually rules over the entire land. The imagination becomes the ruler of consciousness. Pharaoh is the conscious reasoning mind. He is limited. He is bound by what he can see and measure. He receives dreams he can never interpret. Imagination is the person of Joseph, is the only faculty that can read the deeper message of the subconscious. The promised land is the fulfillment of your desire. It is the state of consciousness in which the thing you have been longing for has become your actual experience. Moses, the part of you that knows the law of the mind, leads you toward this state but never enters it himself. The law of mind is the doorway, never the destination. Lazarus, the man raised from the dead, is your dormant desire, the thing in your life You've given up on, the hope you have buried. Jesus, the awakened spiritual sense within you, calls Lazarus forth from the tomb. Your dead hopes are revived through the spoken word of conviction. Walking on water is the mastery of the emotional surface. Water is the unconscious sea of feeling. Most of us are drowning in it. The awakened consciousness walks across the surface undisturbed by the waves, balanced Calm and sovereign. The 2 great commandments are operational instructions. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind. This is the instruction to give your complete attention, your complete feeling, your complete devotion to your highest awareness. Love your neighbor as yourself. The neighbor is the closest thought to you, the thing you are entering and entertaining in your imagination at this very moment. Love it as yourself because it will become yourself. I am is the consciousness of being. It is the most powerful phrase in the Hebrew scriptures. I love Joseph Murphy's teachings on the I am. It is the name God speaks to Moses from the burning bush: I am that I am. He explains that whenever you attach to I am, you become: I am sick, I am poor, I'm alone, or I am strong. I am prosperous. I am loved. The consciousness of being is the creative power, and the words you attach to it shape your experience. This is the Bible Murphy read, the Bible he taught, and he spent decades teaching his Los Angeles congregation how to decode scripture this way. I absolutely love it. It's opened up everything for me in understanding the Bible, when before it was a document that made no sense and was clearly false. He believed that once you learned the code, the Bible became the greatest psychological textbook ever written, and he used it to inform his techniques and affirmations from that point forward. The modern self-help summaries of Murphy have stripped all of this out. The biblical content has been removed because it takes modern readers to an uncomfortable place, but the Bible was the operating manual Murphy used to understand him. Without it is to understand him at half power. Murphy taught a specific 5-step prayer protocol he called scientific prayer. It is the structured application of everything Abdullah had taught him, codified into a method anyone could follow. The 5 steps are these: First, recognition. You begin by recognizing the infinite intelligence that exists within and around you. You acknowledge the source. You orient yourself toward the deeper mind that is the real agent of your life. Second, unification. You unify yourself with this intelligence. You feel your connection to it. You release the sense of separation. You become one. with the power you're about to direct. Third, realization. You realize in the present moment the truth of what you're praying for. If you're praying for health, you realize that perfect health is the underlying reality of your body. If you are praying for prosperity, you realize that infinite abundance is the underlying reality of your life. You see the desired condition as already true. Already accomplished, already manifest in the spiritual realm. Fourth, thanksgiving. You give thanks for the completion of your prayer. You celebrate the answered prayer as if it has already arrived. The thanksgiving seals the impression. It locks the inner picture into place. Fifth is release. You release the prayer. You let it go. You drop it into the deeper mind and you turn away from it. You trust that the work is done. You stop thinking about it. You go about your day. Now, that's where it's different from Neville Goddard. He had this element where he taught about the subconscious mind beyond just the imagination, a very scientific understanding of the way the subconscious mind worked. Murphy taught that the release is the hardest step. Most people pray and then keep checking They pray and then worry about whether the prayer is working. They pray and then return to the state of lack and anxiety. The prayer never takes root. The praying person never lets go. The release is everything. Murphy paired this with what he called the Law of Substitution. Whenever a negative thought arises, you immediately substitute its opposite. Fear Fear becomes confidence. Lack becomes abundance. Sickness becomes wholeness. You do this continuously, hundreds of times a day if necessary, until the new pattern has taken hold and the old pattern has dissolved. He's also taught what he called the healing word, a single phrase carefully chosen for the specific condition, repeated with feeling at regular intervals throughout the day. The healing word is the conscious tool by which the sleep treatment is reinforced during waking hours. Together they form a complete circuit. The sleep treatment plants the seed in the deeper mind. The healing word waters the seed throughout the day. The condition shifts. These are the techniques. They're specific and usable. They've been demonstrated in thousands of case studies across Murphy's books and lectures. They produced results in the lives of millions of people, and they have been almost completely stripped out of modern adaptations or discussions of his work. Murphy describes a chemist in Los Angeles who came to him struggling financially. The man had spent years grinding through low-paying laboratory work, watching less qualified colleagues advance past him while his own income stagnated. Murphy taught him the 5-step scientific prayer protocol He instructed the chemist to apply it every morning before work, every evening before sleep, for 90 days. The chemist followed the instructions exactly. Within 60 days, he was offered a position at a major pharmaceutical company at 4 times his previous salary. He took the position. Within 2 years, he had been promoted to head of research. Within 5 years, he was running his own consulting firm. The income multiplied beyond what he had imagined possible. Murphy emphasized one detail when he told the story. The chemist never told anyone what he was doing. He worked the protocol in complete privacy. He gave the deeper mind no opportunity to be undermined by skeptical conversations or borrowed doubt. He let the impression deepen in silence until the outer life had to rearrange itself to match. This is the discipline he taught. I have found this in my own life. The question is, do you trust the imagination of those around you? Are you going to share what you're praying about and manifesting and visualizing and working towards? Do you trust their imaginations as well? You work in the privacy of your own imagination first and let it blossom without the imaginations of others to affect it. Sometime in the 1940s, Joseph Murphy was diagnosed with a skin lesion his doctors classified as a life-threatening cancer. The exact location and exact pathology have never been described in full. We know it was a serious enough condition that conventional medicine recommended aggressive intervention. We know that Murphy refused. He applied the technique Abdullah had taught him. He went into the sleep treatment every morning. He went into it every night, 20 minutes before waking, 20 minutes before sleeping. He repeated a single phrase he had constructed for the occasion: The wholeness, beauty, and perfection of God are flowing through every atom of my being. The healing presence is now restoring me to perfect health. He felt the truth of this. He visualized his skin as smooth, whole, and perfect. He drifted into and out of sleep with the phrase moving through his awareness. He never doubted, argued, or let the conscious mind dismiss the practice as inadequate. Throughout the day, he applied the law of substitution. Every fearful thought about the cancer was immediately replaced with the thought of healing. Every time his mind drifted toward the diagnosis, he substituted the truth of wholeness. He carried the healing word with him constantly. He worked the protocol for 30 days. The lesion regressed. Within weeks, it was gone. The cancer never returned. He lived another 4 decades and spoke of the experience publicly only rarely, even though it was what he taught, always anonymously framed as a case study about someone else. This is the source of his certainty. Every passage in The Power of Your Subconscious Mind that addresses illness and recovery comes from a man who had used these techniques on his own body when his own life was on the line. He was teaching from direct experience. Murphy designed specific meditations for specific outcomes. He gave them in his Sunday services to 1,500 people every week for 28 years. He broadcast them on his daily radio show to millions of listeners across America, and he wrote them out in his books. These meditations have a recognizable pattern. They are short, they are declarative, they are spoken in the present tense. Always as if the desired condition is already accomplished. They are repeated in the prayer state until the feeling becomes saturated. For prosperity, he taught his congregation to repeat: I am one with infinite riches. Money flows to me freely, copiously, and ceaselessly. I am surrounded by the wealth of the universe. There is always a divine surplus In my life. Believe me, I've used this so many times. Just that phrase alone will radically change your life if you follow the sleep treatment. For healing, he taught: I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy. The healing presence within me is restoring my body to perfect health. Every cell, every tissue, Every organ is functioning in divine order. For relationships, he taught, I attract loving, kind, harmonious people into my life. The right people are appearing at the right time. Divine love is the cement of every relationship I form. For protection, he taught, I am surrounded by the whole armor of God. Divine intelligence guides me. Divine love protects me. Divine wisdom counsels me. No weapon formed against me prospers. For inner peace, he taught, the peace of God fills my soul. I am calm, serene, poised, balanced. I rest in the deep silence of the eternal. These were meditations he gave to ordinary people— people driving to work, people making dinner, lying in bed at night. He believed the repetition of these phrases in the right state and with the right feeling would reshape the inner life and the outer conditions of anyone who applied them with discipline. He was right. I've used these meditations in my own life. I have taught them through this channel. I've created sleep meditations around them. I've created affirmation episodes around them. I've watched them produce changes that conventional psychology has no framework for. This is what Murphy actually taught, the body of work that has been hiding in the books since the 1960s. Open any random copy of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind in a bookstore and you will find a book that reads on the surface like a sober self-help manual. Search his complete bibliography and you'll find a few titles, a few people associate with them. Psychic Perception, Telepsychics, The Secrets of the I Ching, How to Pray with a Deck of Cards, The Cosmic Energizer, The Miracle of Mind Dynamics— these books are something other than self-help. They are working manuals of esoteric practice. These are the classic Parker Publishing style that I love so much, that we've also shared and taught about on the channel. Psychic Perception teaches extrasensory perception openly. The book he wrote covers premonitions, precognition, telepathy, astral travel, communication with the deceased, prophetic dreams that avert tragedies, and techniques for eradicating negative predictions. It's a textbook of practical mysticism. Telepsychics goes further. It teaches readers to develop their own psychic faculties through systematic exercises It treats astral travel as a learnable skill. How to Pray with a Deck of Cards is one of the strangest works in the entire New Thought canon. Murphy treats playing cards as a divinatory system, assigning meanings to suits and numbers, and prescribes specific prayer practices for use with the deck. Secrets of the I Ching applies the same approach to the Chinese Book of Changes. Murphy treats the I Ching as a dialogue with the subconscious mind, a system for surfacing the deeper knowing that lies beneath ordinary awareness. Now, I've considered reading this for the channel, but it's not the kind of book that I could read for the channel. You have to roll the dice, flip the coins, throw the sticks, as he explains the way the I Ching works, and then you get a number of responses. You ask a question, and it's amazing because he has the exact Descriptions, but done in his own unique style regarding the subconscious mind. These books reveal a Joseph Murphy almost nobody in the modern self-help world recognizes. He was a working mystic that believed in psychic phenomenon, taught them openly, and had experienced them himself throughout his life. The Abdullah encounter was the first of many such experiences. His books are full of accounts of prophetic dreams that saved lives, telepathic communications between separated loved ones, predictive visions. He was teaching the magical tradition. He was simply skilled enough to package it in the language mainstream America could accept. Another interesting aspect: at some point in the 1950s or early '60s, Joseph Murphy disappeared from Los Angeles for an extended period. The exact dates have never been confirmed. At the University of India, he received the title of Andhra Research Fellow. The exact nature of his scholarship there remains undocumented. What survives is the influence on his work. His books are saturated with references to Hindu concepts, Sanskrit terminology, the cosmology of the Upanishads, the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita. He began calling the subconscious mind by Hindu names. He drew parallels between Christian and Vedantic teachings that almost nobody in the American spiritual scene was drawing in the 1960s. His influences ran wider than almost anyone that his audience realized. Thomas Troward, the British High Court judge who had written the Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science. Emmet Fox, the Irish-American minister at the Church of Healing Christ. Ernest Holmes, the founder of Religious Science. Paramahansa Yogananda, whose Self-Realization Fellowship operated just a few blocks down Wilshire Boulevard from Murphy's own church. Abdullah, the Harlem mystic who had named his dead brother. Murphy was synthesizing all of it— Hebrew mysticism, Catholic prayer practice, Hindu Vedanta, Chinese divination, New Thought theology, pharmaceutical chemistry, war medicine. He was building a unified science of mind from every tradition he had ever encountered, and the resulting body of work crossed boundaries no other 20th century teacher had attempted to cross. I have been reading Joseph Murphy for almost a decade. I've read every major book he wrote, read his lectures and transcripts. I've applied his techniques in my own life. Before this episode ends, this is what I want to give you— 3 things. The first is the sleep treatment, the most powerful single technique in the modern self-help canon. It sounds familiar, but it's very specific. It's applying this for a 20-minute period. Tonight when you go to bed, choose one phrase. Make it specific. Make it feel like the completion of your desire, never the seeking of it. Repeat it slowly as you drift into sleep. Let it sink into your deeper mind. Do this every night for 30 days. Pay attention to what shifts. Second, the Law of Substitution. It's the most underrated tool Murphy ever taught. Throughout your day, whenever a negative thought arises, immediately substitute its opposite. Do this hundreds of times a day if you have to. The old pattern dissolves through sustained refusal to feed it. The new pattern takes hold through sustained attention. This is how the inner climate changes. Third, the Bible is the operating manual Murphy used, and you can use it the same way. Every figure is a state of consciousness. Every story is the description of an inner process. Joseph is the imagination. The Pharaoh is the reasoning mind. Eve is the subconscious. I am is the creative power. The promised land is the fulfillment of your desire. Once you start reading the scripture this way, the entire text comes alive as a manual for reality creation. These are the keys. These are Murphy's keys. They were given to him by an Ethiopian rabbi in a Harlem apartment 100 years ago. And they have been carried down through his books and his lectures and his radio broadcasts and his published works, and they are still here, still operational, still working in any life that picks them up. I'm one of those people who picked them up. I've watched these techniques produce results that conventional psychology and science has no framework for. I've used them on my own conditions, taught them through this channel for a very long time, and I can tell you That the man who wrote The Power of the Subconscious Mind was the real thing. He healed himself, he healed thousands of others. He took the most ancient esoteric teachings of the West and translated them into an operational instruction that anyone willing to do the work can follow. He made it easy for me to understand the power of the subconscious mind. He helped me to manifest my dream life, and he can help you manifest yours. The method's been hiding in his books for 60 years. Now you know where to look. You are part of the lineage now. You are the proof of his teaching.
