The Mars Sessions - What The CIA's Remote Viewers Saw

The first human beings on Earth did not originate here. They were brought from another planet in our own solar system, the planet it calls the Red Planet, Mars. Mars had supported life, but that the planet's environment became inhospitable, and the cause plainly was the inhabitants' own warlike nature. Welcome to the Reality Revolution. We are going to talk about the Mars Sessions, what the CIA and other remote viewers found when looking back into the past at this mysterious planet that we call Mars. Look up on a clear night and you can find it with your naked eye, a small, steady, rust-red point of light. The 4th planet from the Sun. A cold desert world half the size of Earth, where the air is too thin to breathe and the temperature drops to 100 degrees below zero. Dead. Silent. Empty. That's what the textbooks tell you. And the textbooks are probably right— today. The thing about Mars that almost nobody stops to consider We now know for a scientific fact that it was not always like this. Mars once had a thick atmosphere. Mars once had a magnetic field wrapped around it like a shield. And Mars once had water— not a little, but oceans of it. Rivers carved its surface. There were shorelines. There were lakes. For a long stretch of its early history, Mars was the most Earth-like world in the solar system besides Earth itself. And then something happened. The magnetic field died. The atmosphere bled away into space. The water vanished, froze, or escaped, or sank into the ground. And the most promising real estate in the solar system became the tomb we see Today, mainstream science says it was a natural process. No drama, no inhabitants, just a small planet losing the heat in its core and with it the field that protected its air. Maybe that's the whole story. There's another story about Mars, an older one, a stranger one. The unsettling thing about it is not that one person tells it, It's the same story that keeps surfacing across more than a century from people who have no contact with each other and no reason to agree. A Victorian astronomer staring through a telescope, a Swiss shopgirl in a trance, a decorated military psychic sealed in a government laboratory, channeled sources, hypnotized subjects, modern remote viewers. Different centuries, different methods, no coordination, and a single recurring theme: Mars was once alive. That something intelligent lived there, that it was a warlike advanced civilization, and that they lost their world, their water, their air. And in the end, they did not all simply die. Some of them, the story says, Came here. Tonight we're going to follow that trail, not to tell you what to believe, but to lay the references side by side and let you feel the weight of them together. We're going to ask what happened on Mars. Before we touch a single psychic or mystic, let's ground ourselves in what is not controversial, because the science alone is dramatic enough And it's the foundation everything else rests on. 4 billion years ago, Mars and Earth were siblings. Both were warm, both were wet, both were wrapped in protective atmospheres. If you had surveyed the early solar system looking for where life might take hold, you would not have bet only on Earth. You'd have bet on both. We know Mars had water because Mars still wears the scars of it. Orbiters and rovers have mapped dry riverbeds Ancient lake basins, deltas where rivers once emptied into standing water, and minerals that only form in the presence of liquid water over long periods. There is no scientific dispute that is serious about this anymore. Mars was a blue and tan world with a sky and a shoreline, and then it lost everything. And we even understand the mechanism. Mars is smaller than Earth. So its molten core cooled faster. When the core cooled, the churning that generated the planet's magnetic field shut down. And the fatal chain reaction— without that magnetic field, there was nothing to deflect the solar wind, the constant stream of charged particles pouring off the sun. Year after year, the solar wind stripped the Martian atmosphere away into space, molecule by molecule. As the atmosphere thinned, the pressure dropped, and the water could no longer survive on the surface. It froze into the poles and the subsurface, or it boiled away and was lost. The shield failed, the air left, the water followed, and the living world became a frozen desert. Hold that sequence in your mind. Magnetic field collapse, Atmosphere lost, water gone. Because you're going to hear it described again almost step by step by sources that had no business knowing planetary physics at all. So that's the floor we're standing on, and it's solid. Mars was alive in the sense that it could have hosted life, and Mars died. The only question the textbooks leave open is whether anything was living there to watch it happen. The question is where the other story begins, and the first person to tell it loudly was not a mystic. He was one of the most famous astronomers in America. In 1894, a wealthy Bostonian named Percival Lowell built an observatory on a high, dark plateau outside Flagstaff, Arizona, for one purpose: to study Mars during its close approach to Earth. Lowell was not a crank on the fringe. He was the most influential popularizer of planetary science in America, and the observatory he founded would later discover Pluto. When Lowell turned his telescope on Mars, he saw, or believed he saw, a vast network of fine straight lines crisscrossing the surface. An Italian astronomer had earlier called such features canali, meaning channels. Lowell read them as canals, built things, and from that single interpretation he constructed one of the most haunting theories in the history of astronomy. Lowell argued Mars was a dying world, an old planet drying out, its water retreating to polar ice caps. And he proposed that an intelligent Martian civilization, desperate to survive, had built a planet-wide system of canals to carry the last of the water from the frozen poles down to their parched cities. He laid it out across 3 popular books between 1895 and 1908, and the public devoured it for a generation. The idea of a dying, advanced, ingenious Mars was simply part of the cultural air. Now, the honest part, because it matters: Lowell was wrong about the canals. They weren't there. Better telescopes, and finally the Mariner spacecraft in the 1960s, showed the lines were an optical illusion— the eye's tendency to connect faint dots into lines. The canals do not exist. But sit with what Lowell Got right by accident, because it's genuinely strange. Decades before we had any way to know it, Lowell told the world Mars was once a living planet that lost its water and dried into a desert. And the dying, water-losing world is exactly what the science of the last 50 years has confirmed. He was wrong about the engineers, but right about death. And the image he painted— an advanced people losing their world to a failing environment— is the same image that keeps coming back from very different directions. At almost the same exact moment Lowell was mapping his canals, something far stranger was happening in Geneva, Switzerland. A young shopgirl named Catherine Elise Müller, who became famous under the pseudonym Helene Smith, began entering trances in spiritual circles in the 1890s, and in those trances she claimed to travel to Mars. She described its landscapes and painted them. She described its people, and most astonishingly, she began to speak and write an entire Martian language, fluent Consistent. With its own alphabet and grammar, which she would write out and then translate. She was studied for 5 years by Theodore Flournoy, professor of psychology at the University of Geneva, who published the case in 1900 as From India to the Planet Mars. The book became a classic read by Freud and Jung, foundations to early psychology. And again, here I owe you the skeptic's verdict because Flournoy himself delivered it. When he analyzed her Martian language, he found it was not alien at all. Its grammar and vowel sounds mirrored French, her own native tongue. Flournoy concluded that Mars and its language were a stunning creation of her own subconscious mind, what he called the mythopoetic story-making power of the deep self, dressing up forgotten memories as an alien world.

So why include her at all?

Because of what it tells us about the human mind, and that turns out to be the thread running through this entire episode. Whether or not Helene Smith touched the real Mars, something in her produced an entire coherent world in extraordinary detail from the deep place beneath ordinary awareness. 80 years after Lowell, the United States government picked up the same question and approached it with the cold machinery of Cold War intelligence. By the 1980s, the U.S. had spent more than a decade running a secret program to study psychic spying. It went by several names: Grill Flame, Center Lane, Sunstreak, but it's best known as Stargate. It ran out of Fort Meade in partnership with the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Stanford Research Institute, SRI. Its purpose was deadly serious. The Soviets were funding psychic research, and the doctrine was that you cannot afford to ignore a weapon the other side might hold. The technique was called remote viewing— describing a place you've never been with no information about it using only the mind. The program survived more than 20 years and millions of dollars, which governments do not spend on things that never ever work. We've done deep dives on this in our episodes on Project Sunstreaker and the Stargate Tapes. Its most famous viewer was Joseph McMoneagle, internally Remote Viewer Number 1, a decorated Army intelligence officer who had earned the Legion of Merit with something like 450 operations behind him. His track record was not all smoke. In one celebrated case, he was given only coordinates and described a massive new class of Soviet submarine under construction near the water, details later confirmed by satellite. On May 22nd, they pointed the instrument at Mars. The session is now a declassified U.S. government document titled plainly Mars Exploration, May 22nd, 1984. Because it's a federal record, it's in the public domain. You can read the actual page, and the way it was run is the whole point. The first line states the method: a sealed envelope coupled with geographic coordinates. McMoneagle was handed a sealed envelope He was told not to open. Inside was a 3x5 card reading, the planet Mars, time of interest approximately 1 million BC. He never saw it until the end. He was working completely blind. The session was conducted at the Monroe Institute in Virginia in a shielded room monitored by Robert Monroe himself, the same Monroe whose consciousness work the CIA studied in the Gateway material We've experienced on this channel before. Monroe relayed only the coordinates, and McMoneagle began to describe what he saw. Huge pyramid-like structures, oddly colored, yellowish ochre. He was hesitant, disoriented. At one point, he assumed he must be looking at someplace on Earth. Then the people, very tall, very thin, in strange fitted clothing, and the world around them was failing. The atmosphere going bad, violent storms, the tall thin people sheltering inside the great structures, waiting. He described them not as a thriving empire, but as a remnant, survivors, an old race, strangely philosophical about its own ending. The tall thin people, a world whose atmosphere turned hostile, a civilization sheltering at the end of everything. Remember those details because the next references describe them too. And they were recorded by people who had never seen that index card. Set the government file down for a moment and turn to a completely different kind of source: the channeled and regressed record. I know that asks more of your skepticism, and that's fair, so don't take any of it as proof, but just notice how the picture keeps rhyming. Between 1981 and 1984, overlapping the Stargate years, A research group called LL Research recorded a long dialogue with a source that called itself Ra. The transcripts became known as the Law of One, and the same group channeling the same body of Confederation material has continued the work for decades under a source they call Quo. It's one continuous lineage. What that material says about Mars is specific, and it lands hard against the McMoneagle session. It never saw. It says the first human beings on Earth did not originate here. It says they were brought from another planet in our own solar system, the planet it calls the Red Planet, Mars. It says Mars had supported life, but that the planet's environment became inhospitable, and the cause, it says plainly, was the inhabitants' own warlike nature, the tendencies toward bellicose action. The material says, so disturbed the atmosphere of their planet that it became unfit for them before the end of its natural cycle. A warlike people, a ruined atmosphere, a world that died before its time— that is McMoneagle's dying race arrived at from an entirely different direction. And the material goes further. It says these Martian beings were not simply abandoned to extinction. It says they were transferred Their genetic material preserved and carefully adjusted, then brought to Earth through a kind of guided non-reproductive process by entities it calls the Guardians, roughly 75,000 years ago at the start of our present cycle. And it gives a number that stops you cold, that something like half of early Earth humanity were in essence transplanted Martians. In this account, a large share of us are the descendants of the refugees of a dead world. Then decades later, the same lineage through Quo described how the red planet actually died. And this is the part that should give you pause. It spoke of a disruption of the planet's water cycle, a chain of events in which the ecosystem deteriorated, the soul of the planet fading, and the deterioration of the planet's magnetosphere until the life could no longer take Now go back to the beginning, the actual scientific account of how Mars died. Magnetic field collapses, atmosphere stripped away, water is lost. Now hear it again from a channeled source. The magnetosphere deteriorates, the water cycle is disrupted, the world can no longer hold life. A trance source described the real planetary mechanism Magnetosphere failure and water loss. That mainstream science only confirmed through spacecraft. That is not the furniture of a science fiction story. This is the actual forensic cause of death of a planet, spoken by a voice that should have no access to it.

And then the same source did something a textbook never will.

It turned the death of Mars into a warning about Earth, inviting the listener to look at our own deteriorating environment, our own catalysts of destruction, and to understand that the story of the red planet is not safely finished history. It is a mirror. The same forces that ended that world, it said, are being explored on this one right now by us. The channeled record doesn't stop with the Law of One. It threads through 2 figures whose work many of you already know well. Edgar Cayce, the sleeping prophet whose thousands of trance readings are archived and cataloged, spoke often of the soul's journey not only through Earth lives but through what he described as sojourns on other planets of this solar system, Mars among them. In Cayce's cosmology, Mars carries a particular character associated strikingly with anger and the impulse toward conflict and war. The warlike Mars again resurfacing in the readings of a Kentucky mystic decades before a remote viewer or a channeled entity said the same. And Dolores Cannon, whose quantum healing hypnosis technique many in our community work with directly, spent nearly 50 years guiding thousands of subjects into deep trance again and again. Ordinary people with no connection to one another described past lives that were not on Earth at all, lives on other worlds including Mars, and lives that ended in planetary catastrophe, the destruction of a homeworld and the migration of souls to Earth to begin again. Cannon didn't lead them there, but They arrived on their own from the same deep trance state, telling versions of the same story. In fact, some have theorized that the story of Moses is actually a metaphor or parable about our journey from Mars to Earth, as the Red Sea was parted, which was space. We crossed this incredible sea to get to Earth. Different mystics Different references, different methods, different decades. The same red planet, the same conflict, the same ending. And it continues in our own line. In 1976, NASA's Viking orbiter photographed a mile-long mesa in the Cydonia region of Mars that looked in that lighting uncannily like a human face, with formations nearby that resembled pyramids. Richard Hoagland built a famous case that these were monuments of a lost Martian civilization. Even presenting to the United Nations. Later, high-resolution photographs from better cameras showed the face to be an eroded hill, a trick of light and shadow. As a piece of hard evidence, the face on Mars did not survive. But the thread— the debunking usually leaves out those same Cydonia formations were targets by remote viewing inside the very SRI program McMoneagle came from. Figures like Ingo Swann, foundational to the whole effort, were involved in early consciousness work pointed at Mars. And decades later, the Farsight Institute ran a blind remote viewing project on Cydonia using 2 of the most documented viewers working today and came back once again with an ancient Martian civilization undone by catastrophe. From a Victorian telescope to a Geneva trance to a sealed government envelope to the Law of One to Cannon to Farsight Institute, the same dying warlike Mars keeps surfacing. So what do we do with all this? Every single one of these references can be challenged. Lowell's canals were an illusion. Helene Smith's Martian was disguised French. The face on Mars was an eroded hill. Channeled and hypnotic sources can't be independently verified. And the human mind, as Flournoy showed, is a breathtaking story-making machine, fully capable of generating a vivid Mars out of its own depths. A determined skeptic can take down each reference one at a time. I won't pretend otherwise, and you shouldn't let anyone tell you the case is airtight. It isn't. But step back from the individual references and look at the shape they make together, because that's where it gets hard to dismiss. You have a Victorian astronomer, a Swiss medium, a U.S. military psychic, Working blind, a channeled cosmology, the most famous trance prophet in American history, a hypnotherapist, thousands of subjects, and modern remote viewers. They span more than a century. They had no contact with one another. They used utterly different methods, and they converge on the same picture. Mars was a living world. Something intelligent and warlike lived there. It lost Its atmosphere and its water. And in the telling that recurs most often, the survivors did not all die. They came to Earth, and we carry their inheritance. And underneath even that convergence, science itself has confirmed the one part everyone agrees on: Mars really was a living, capable world, and it really did die by losing its magnetic field, its atmosphere, and its water. The exact mechanism Channeled sources and remote viewers described decades before the spacecraft proved it. So here's where I land. You're free to land somewhere else. There are really only 2 ways to read this. Either it's the most remarkable string of coincidences and shared human imagination ever assembled around a single planet— 100 years of unconnected people independently dreaming the same dream— or a human consciousness in trance, in vision, in the sealed dark of a shielded room can actually reach across space and time and touch what truly happened. And once you laid all the references side by side, the coincidence explanation starts to strain under its own weight. But I don't want to leave you with a debate. I'll leave you with 2 things that actually matter for your life, because this was never a story about a planet. The first is the warning. If even a fraction of this is true, If Mars was a living world brought down by the warlike, careless nature of the beings who lived there, their atmosphere turned against them, their water lost, then Mars is not a distant curiosity. It is a mirror, a photograph of where a certain road ends. We are the warlike people on the living planet now, and the dead world next door may be showing us our own possible future. That's the message every version of this story, from Lowell to Quo, finally points at. Handle your world and handle yourself with more care than they did. The second is deeper. It's the only one I want you to take into sleep tonight. Look at what connects every single reference on this trail. Not a telescope or spacecraft— consciousness. A medium in trance, prophet asleep, a remote viewer in a shielded box. Hypnotized subjects in deep trance, in deep states. In every case, the doorway to Mars was not technology. It was an altered state of human consciousness. And whether they reached a real planet or the depths of their own minds, they proved the same thing. Your awareness is not trapped inside your skull, locked to this one body in this one moment. It reaches, it travels.
