In this talk, Bridger Pennington explains the "hook, story, offer" (HSO) framework that underpins all of his team's communication—emails, landing pages, ads, podcasts, videos, and live events. He describes how every piece of content can be broken down into three parts: a hook that grabs attention, a story that delivers value, and an offer that prompts a next step. Bridger illustrates the framework with examples from their own productions, such as introducing a speaker with a hook about AI or the digital dollar, and shows how they test multiple hooks across channels to see which performs best. He also shares how the HSO structure helped him overcome fear of filming by giving a clear template for video scripts. The overall message is that consistently applying HSO simplifies content creation, improves testing, and makes messaging more effective.

So, now in all the stuff we do, we use hook, story, offer. Actually, a fun study to do is go on people's websites, landing pages, ads. I watch ads constantly on social media. People usually skip the ads. I watch the ads. I want to see the copy. I want to see how they— what's their hook? What's their story and what's their offer? Every email we do, every event we do, every speech I do has a hook, a story, and an offer. and an offer. You watch everything that we do produce and you go watch online, etc. We have a hook at the Beanie. What was the hook for this today? We're going to talk about AI. We're going to talk about how to get into all this cool stuff. Devon actually comes on and gives hooks before a speaker comes on. You guys notice that? Hey, from this next speaker, you're going to hear about— from John Pennington, you're going to hear about the digital dollar and all this cool stuff. Who wants to hear that? Yeah, those are all hooks. And then John comes on and fulfills. He gives this awesome story, etc. And sometimes they have an offer, and sometimes the offer is just Go be a great human, right? Sometimes the offer is, you know, follow me. Sometimes the offer is buy my thing or whatever it is, but, and, or just stay on my list and keep watching for updates. Kind of cool, right? You start seeing the world. If you look at any of our email sequences, landing pages, guess what the top is? Hook. Guess what the middle is? Story. Guess what the bottom is? Offer. Any email we write, Mason writes great emails. Hook, story, offer. It's all throughout everything. So if you, and if you're worried about like pulling out your, like Jen talked about filming. I used to be so scared to film. I remember first time filming, doing lives, and then I started to think through, oh, easy. Okay, what's my hook? What kind of story will I tell in this little video? And then what's kind of the offer we're going for? Sometimes we will film 3 or 4 different hooks and we will edit them into the video just to test my hooks. If you've noticed our landing pages, if you go to our landing page, we test hooks constantly. I'm testing hooks on podcasts, on our YouTube channel. We're always testing what hook Does the best. This kind of making sense? So when you're thinking about any online— this, for me, this changed my life. It simplifies everything because it gets so— it's like, man, I got to write this whole thing. No, just think hook, story, offer.
