It's Mother's Day 2021, and I've been a mom for 15 years, and I just want to make this really quick video because if I weren't a mother, I would have never gotten into firearms. Why is that, you say? Well, my husband always had firearms, and we had firearms in the home, but it was not until I had children that I realized how little I knew about firearms. I'd been to the range, they'd put a loaded gun in my hand, I'd pulled the trigger. If you asked me, I went shooting, like, oh yeah, I've been shooting, not a big deal. Until kids arrived. When kids arrived, then I realized how important it was that I was not afraid of those firearms that were in my home. And I was just afraid of becoming an accident. I didn't know how to touch them. I didn't know how to hold them. I didn't know how to load. And more importantly, I didn't know how to unload them to make them safe. So the birth of my children was the beginning of my firearms experience. Since then, I've become a competitive shooter and an instructor and opened my own shooting school here in Harwinton, Connecticut. My desire as a mom is to help you, another mom, who may have firearms in your home but really don't know anything about them. I'm not looking to get you to become a Nikita or some crazy ninja warrior with firearms. I just want to help people go from clueless to confident and help them go from afraid to confident, because that's what I found when I realized the importance of being able to handle the firearms that were in my home. So if you're a mom watching this, please know I am here for you. Thanks. Have a great day.
