Ta-da! I'm live because I don't know, I got 15 minutes. My class starts and people always ask, what is in your class? So for our pistol permit class, and yes, I need more coffee today and I also need to drink more so my throat doesn't sound quite like this. So here's what we have. This is the classroom. We have a bird that wants to get in the house, in the room. And he's just going crazy in our windows today. So that's what the chirping you hear, if you hear it. So pistol permit class, what do we have? We have your NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting book. This is one of the resources that you get for taking a pistol permit class. We also have all sorts of information on— oh, wait a second, I gotta leave my comments. I don't know what my comments say. Who's here? Hey Vanessa Kitty, good morning. I also give out the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program booklet because when I started shooting, it was very boring just standing there shooting a piece of paper. So the marksmanship program gives you some clues on how to improve your shooting without having to get into competition, even though I'm a big fan of trying to get everyone into competition. We talk about the DC Project just a little bit because if you're in here getting your pistol permit, you should start to learn about your Second Amendment rights. Of course you get your NRA gun safety card, which is, you know, always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, always keep your finger off the trigger, and always keep your gun unloaded until ready to use. Because in this class we are talking about safety at the range. This is not a self-defense class, just so we're clear. CCDL— got to talk about CCDL because we're here in Connecticut. Connecticut Citizens Defense League. They are the ones that keep us updated on what's happening here in Connecticut, giving, giving us ways to engage here in Connecticut. Oh yeah, the test. You have to take a test to pass the class, but fear not, I'm showing you the evaluation of me when you are done. That's not the test. The test is multiple choice, true/false. Your target is what you're going to be shooting most likely, as long as I remember to bring them to the range. I had one of these classes yesterday. I forgot to bring their target to the range. So we shot other things. What else do you get in this class? Well, notes. You're allowed to take notes while you're taking the class. You get to take a pen home with you. Oh, you don't get to keep the legal pad, you just take whatever you write on. You got your truck decal. Oh, did you get your shirt? Sorry, I digress. Like, you should have got your shirt by now for sure too. We are also going to be talking about all different types of firearms. We have a single action, double action, um, both hand— what it's called, you know, pistols. There we go. All of this, we're gonna talk about that. So there it is. There is a broad overview of what you're going to get here at Great Start Shooting School for your pistol permit class. I just want to pop on real fast. That's kind of it. Um, And what else? Yeah, that's it. So there's your quick intro. Oh, water. Hydration is always important, no matter what you're doing. And no, I do not— I'm not sponsored by Poland Spring. It just happens to be the water we have this week. So, oh, lunch. If you come to an all-day Sunday class, lunch is actually included as well. So, all right. Well, Vanessa, thank you for wearing your shirt. I'm so happy that you like it. And, uh, fishing and gun stores this morning. That is a good way to start your day. All right. Well, thanks for popping in. Uh, we should do lunch sometime for real since we're not that far away. Uh, that would be fun. And for the rest of you, go here. Where is it? Somewhere here. Um, and sign up and book your class. If you don't have your permit yet, this gives you an idea of what you're expecting. The other thing is, um, that there's only 4 seats here, so this is a very small pistol permit class. And for example, I have another permit class on Monday and there's only 1 person signed up for it. She might get a private pistol permit class because I never cancel. Sometimes I reschedule, but I never cancel my classes if people don't fill them up. So if you'd like small compact and lots of hands-on gun learning in your pistol permit class, this is the place to come. So you've been in the classroom, you can trust but verify, there you go, um, that one right there, because you can check out my reviews on Facebook, YouTube, Google— wait, not on YouTube, I don't think I have reviews on YouTube. So, um, yes, Vanessa, I do do the permit class for Connecticut. I'm actually working on also being able to do it for Massachusetts, but I have to wait a little bit longer. I'm waiting for my Mass permit. Once I have that, then I can do the instructor class for Massachusetts, I'm pretty sure. So, all right, I think that's everything you need to know. Oh, there's an online version as well where you can do the classroom portion online on a Wednesday night, and then you come here for one-on-one instruction um, at the time of your choosing after the classroom has been completed and you've passed your written test. So I've got lots of options. Oh, but wait, there's more! If you really don't have time for a Sunday all-day class and you want a private class, um, it is available to you, and you schedule a 4-hour session where we try to get through all of the classroom portion of stuff, and then you'll come back for your live fire portion. So I have lots of ways for you to get your pistol permit class. This is just one of them. And I think that's it. So, so to Vanessa's question, which I realize now, huh, since I'm broadcasting multiple places, um, that's not it. That wasn't the one. Um, I do Connecticut permits and I will be doing Mass permits soon. Um, and Vanessa, if you need a referral for a MAS pistol instructor, I do know a couple of them, so I will be happy to send you in their direction. And because, yeah, Charlie Cook, you can actually just look up Shooting Shot— or, oh, Riding Shotgun with Charlie is his YouTube channel. You can actually look up, uh, Charlie Cook on Facebook. And good morning, Gun Metal Guy. Um, it's always fun to see people in the morning. So, all right, I need to go because I have students arriving shortly and they're going to be up there and I'm down here and they won't know how to find me. So you all have a great rest of your Sunday and, uh, feel free to share this, let people know that they can go there to class. Oh, and if you don't need a permit, you just want more training, I'm your girl. One-on-one training, it's the way to go. All right, bye everybody, have a great Sunday.
