I would like your help & advice

Ta-da! All right, so I'm just having technical difficulties and my camera's not working, but I really wanted to get this out there because I just want your opinion. I'm just having technical difficulties and my camera's not working. I keep forgetting about that. Aha! And so don't do that. Um, but I'm watching myself, hence the reason it says there's one person watching. So, um, here is the deal. On Friday, I'm going to go set up for the Bridgeport Women's Expo, and I've been thinking about— hello, DJ! Um, I am thinking about what I want potential customers to be able to experience in that Saturday and Sunday that I'm hanging out at this table. So I'm throwing the question out to you guys because I find that we are our own harshest critics, and y'all tend to be really nice to me, so I'm hoping you can help me out with some ideas. If you read the, um, whatever that's called, the description down below or to the side or above depending on if you're watching on Facebook or YouTube, um, I just kind of want to think of what is my potential customer's journey. So, hello sir, how are you? And what a cute doggy. Um, and yes, it is. Wee! Surprise, here I am. All right, so what I'm looking for, if you were to come to my table and you had 30 seconds for me to tell you something or if you were gonna ask a question, what would it be? What do you think would, you know, maybe possibly engage you? 'Cause I'm trying to figure out what to have available for people to do. There's so many options and I don't wanna be overwhelmed, but I don't wanna be underwhelmed. And sadly, since my video's not working, I can't show you, but I have brand new business cards. Which is exciting for me, and I'll take a picture and post them up later, at least on Facebook. I don't know how to do that on YouTube. And, but I have the pamphlet, the little palm card thing that says A New Gun and Things to Think About, to have people think about stuff. I'm also repping the DC Project, so we have 2A talking points, and these are things that people can walk away with. However, we want to also engage people to do stuff. Like, what would be fun for a raffle? I have this handy-dandy little, um, what do you call it? It's a rubber band gun. And this is where I wish my video was working. And I'm thinking, well, maybe I get some buckets. Like, you know how you play the, uh, the game, uh, like, uh, skeetball? How it's got like a little bucket and then a bigger ring and that sort of stuff. And that's kind of the idea I was thinking is they could like shoot something, you know, obviously sort of fun. All right. So PNW empowering people. How would you frame that? Would you have me have a sign that says, I don't know, like, you know, the DC Project one that you guys usually see over my corner that says gun rights are women's rights. Is that the kind of empowering thing we're talking about? Um, that sort of thing. Uh, so ladies specifically. All right, my outreach goals. Obviously, as a business, I'm trying to get new customers, but I also want them to realize how many resources are available to them without overwhelming them, which is definitely part of my problem because I have so many options I don't want to go crazy and bring everything and then people not have an opportunity to figure out what they want to focus on, because DC Project is about becoming active. So in theory, that's going to be more focused on people who already have firearms versus a Great Start Shooting School, which is going to be more about people learning about firearms. So I think that's what I'm trying to go for. Is what sort of makes sense to me, DJ. Um, oh, we have videos. My concern with videos is making sure— I remember the laptop— making sure it's loaded up locally on the laptop so you don't have to just live on their network. But which videos do you think would be worthwhile, Fiona? Since you are in some of my videos, maybe you can come over later this week which is only tomorrow or Thursday. Um, and we could download some of the videos that we've done, or do you think having the normal canned videos that I tend to show during classes, which are me running around at competitions and that sort of things. So, all right. So yeah, I saw this earlier. I think I said it, but Empowering Ladies specifically. Yes. Um, so And the choose 3, without a doubt. I've been in sales for a long time, and it's that whole thing of who— never give people more than 3 choices because we get into overwhelm. And my challenge is right now, is right now 3 is really 6, because if I do 3 for DC Project and 3 for a Great Start Shooting School Um, that's kind of it, right? So, ah, I just don't know. All right, who would he expect as the average attendee? Rough demographics, I honestly don't know. The Better Living Expo looks like it is gonna be women, probably 30 to 50, give or take. There's a wide variety of folks that are actually coming to this thing. Or I mean, there's a lot of different types of, um, things that are going to be there, right? So I'm going to be the only gun girl there, but there's going to be stuff like Pampered Chef and, uh, oh gosh, there's a whole list of them actually. If we click on the Women's Expo thing— oh hey, we could do that instead of looking at my, my lovely face. Um, but there's just like a ton of different stuff, so I Anyway, I would say women, uh, southern part of Connecticut, I'm gonna guess 30 to 50, maybe 20 to 40, somewhere in there. Hello, MK Joe. Um, all right, so any of the ones training from last year, me and competition, the unveiling we did? Oh, which one? We have lots of videos of you. Um, and also, but see, like, so Fiona and I have picture she came to a rally with me last year, and so we've got pictures and slideshows and stuff that we could put up. So, all right, um, lifestyle stuff. Yes, exactly, that's what's going to be there. So, all right, um, that's the questions that I have for y'all is what would be interesting, what would draw you in. Uh, someone has suggested the game, which is why I'm thinking, well, maybe I can do something with my rubber band gun and people can shoot at, uh, targets, AKA buckets. I just don't know how to set that up exactly. As far as I have displays for being able to put up a DC project, we've got a big banner, so that'll be cool. So anyway, any ideas you have, drop them in the comments, put them on Facebook, YouTube, it doesn't matter wherever you're watching this, it will be helpful. Recall that I only have 2 days to put this stuff together because whatever you put up tonight or tomorrow, I have Wednesday and Thursday because on Friday— well, I kind of have Wednesday now that I'm looking at my calendar because I'm teaching all day Thursday, which is very exciting because it's my first full day this year. Um, and Fiona, if you want to bring a Nerf gun and target, feel free to. Um, I know we have some. I don't know where any of them are currently. It seems as though Nerf guns are those things, although I'm not sure a Nerf gun would be a good idea because remember our area is only 8 by 10, and if it's one of the high-powered Nerf guns, then it'll bounce all over into our neighbors, and we don't want to be bad neighbors, although that would be fun. Um, thank you too, Live Moo. I appreciate the second thumbs up. What are y'all doing, you slackers out there on YouTube, not giving me a thumbs up? No, I know DJ, for example, never gives a thumbs up till after it's over. So I am not really giving you all a hard time. So yes, anything you can think of. So yes, I can have the laptop. Yes, it can be playing videos. I'm gonna have a bucket there with a QR code so that people can either drop money in a bucket for DC Project or— sorry, of course, as I'm in the middle of a con thing, um, you know, I, uh get re— you know, give out bacon. So yes, everything is better with bacon, it's true. Um, but yeah, so I'm gonna have a bucket there for DC Project cash donations, but I'll have a QR code on that so that people can give online if they want. Also, um, what else? I'm gonna have a QR code so they can go directly to my website based on whether they want to go for a pistol permit or if they want one-on-one training. So I'll have QR codes for that 'cause that seems to be all the rage. So people can do it yourself. I'm trying to figure out how to do a quick quiz that I can put up on my website so folks can just go there, but I'm not sure that's gonna actually come through. All right, third on me, third on AGSS. Well, see, Fiona's gonna be with me, so Fiona can talk about me 'cause I don't wanna talk about me. I can talk about a great certitude school and DC project. I am good at that. And thank you, Echo. I appreciate my third thumbs up for today. All right. So here's my thing, PNW, is that, yeah, it just depends on which thing I'm talking about. So for Great Start Shooting School, we take women from clueless to confident with firearms. It can be that fast. DC Project, where women from— we started as 50 women from 50 states who go to DC once a year to put a new face on gun ownership. So I have like the itty-bitty tiny ones, right? And then of course that's the, like, that's the 5-second elevator pitch, and then there is more. So like a great start shooting school is We take women from clueless to confident on a one-on-one basis, so we get to work on just what you need. It's not a small class size, it's just one-on-one. So whatever it is you need with firearms, we can help you get there. And what I found with that is that a lot of women, or a lot of people who have never been to training, don't know what they need. So that's why I've created a brochure that outlines some of the different things that people can do. So it explains some of the possibilities. Um, as far as a Great Start Shooting School new website, um, the firearms training is pretty awesome because underneath it, gun handling and shooting and find your perfect gun are my feeder classes that I'm trying to get people into. Um, and it's like there's 3 basically, right? I want them getting the pistol permit class, Gun Handling and Shooting or Find Your Perfect Gun. So the elevator pitch is going to just depend on that. And then with DC Project, um, that's kind of about it. Uh, well, sorry, DC Project is 51 for 50 states, trying to have conversations with our legislators and becoming, um, resources to help educate, not legislate, uh, when it comes to gun safety. All right, so seriously, what you prop is pretty laid back and you are strong on including fun in the engagement of attendees. Any ideas to up the game or of the games? Yeah, so I don't know, it's why I wish I had something cool on my computer that you could do like a cert gun or something like that, but I, I'm not that prepared. This may be the first and last time I do it I just figured reach out to y'all and find out, um, what, what you all think. And yes, I have blue guns, and mine are actually— well, I've got one blue, one yellow, and my handy dandy, um, rubber band gun, like I said. So, alrighty, what else I got? Yeah, well, and that's just it, is the one-on-one classes is what I really focus on because that's what I was looking for when I started. But as my marketing guy keeps reminding me, um, I am not all of my students. So that's why I'm not reaching out to you guys. Fiona is going to be, um, talking about me if somebody wants to know about me, because I hate talking about me. No, but Fiona can talk about DC Project, A Great Start Student School, and what it's like to be a student of mine. So that's why she's coming and hanging out on Saturday with me. And then I actually have another DC Project Girl who's going to be there for a couple hours in the morning. It's a short day. It's only 11 to 4. So I don't know if it's going to be crazy busy or not. So I want to have like that 30-second— as people are walking by, they can see something that says, you know, like Pian said in the beginning, you know, women empowerment. Or something like that. So, um, other classes have several people, me. Yeah, and I mean, my other thing is one size never fits all, and that's the other thing I'm trying to decide if I should really bring stuff from my classroom. Because if you're here, I've got all these posters on the wall that says one size never fits all, work smart not hard, trust but verify, you don't know what you don't know. Um, so And Fiona, feel free to bring it with you. Hopefully it's different than mine, otherwise I'll mark up mine so we know which one is which. And yeah, so DJ, she can talk about her training. I mean, um, so the actual show is only 11 to 4, but you— I want you there at like 10:30, and we probably won't be leaving till 4:30, so your day is going to be longer than that. So, all right, so that's kind of it. Hopefully y'all, someone will watch the replays and throw some more ideas down below and wish me all luck. Me and Fiona and Holly and Laura and my daughter is also coming on Sunday with me, so I think it'll be cool to have a girl, a kid there. Um, yeah, and, and I'm with you, PNW, for sure. And that's why I'm trying not to be overwhelming and yet at the same time I'm just like, I also don't want it look like the Sahara Desert with like nothing there. So I'm trying to have whatever I have there be impactful. Oh yeah, and y'all know that I also have Walk the Talk America wristbands and suicide prevention stuff, and you know, I could have way too much stuff easily, but part of it is I want people to understand because here we're going to be in an environment where there are not necessarily going to be any shooters. And I want them to see our hearts. I want them to see that, you know, we're doing suicide prevention, that we're doing safety, that NSSF has child safe program, stuff like that. So yes, trying to stick to just 3 things is kind of killing me. And like I said, even still, the 3 things is really 6. So Yes, I know he's right. Um, yeah, so no, I can't have a dry fire demo because I'm not going to bring guns in there, but we can play with, um, what are they called, the plastic ones. And no, originally Mary was going to come with me, and I think she had the laser trainers, but, um, I actually didn't know what the gun thing was, so I just figured it was better not to bring any. All right, good night all. Thank you for you. Yes. Oh yeah, that's right. So I've got Fiona with me, and, um, her son actually come with me as well. So that'll be great because she can talk about the kid thing on Saturday, and then my kid can actually talk about being trained as a kid. So there's that. Um, yeah, it's probably— PNW is probably the same thing as me packing. I always bring way more than I need to have. So, okie dokie. So I've said bye at least twice so far. So this is the third time. So in theory, I'm actually going to go now, but thank you all for popping in. Thanks for the thumbs up. This is subscribes, all that good stuff. And I will let you know how it all goes. Maybe I'll come on early on Saturday for Suicide Prevention Saturday and instead give you all an update and then move into Suicide Prevention Saturday. Saturday. We will see. Um, yes, I think this will be awesome, especially— I'm assuming, yes, hashtag moms. All right, good night all, for real. Bye.
