Suicide prevention Saturday is happening

In this informal live stream, Brooke Cheney explains that the upcoming Suicide Prevention Saturday video, scheduled for 9:00 AM, is pre‑recorded and may appear as a live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube due to a StreamYard setup issue. She apologizes for the technical hiccup, invites viewers to comment on both platforms, and uses the brief session to thank community members (DJ, G‑Webs, Michael Bellinger, etc.) and acknowledge their support. Brooke mentions that a full transcript of what she intended to read will be posted on her Patreon. She also shares a personal anecdote about returning from a USPSA Area 7 shooting match in Maine, describing the long drive and the match’s significance. Throughout, she emphasizes the purpose of Suicide Prevention Saturday—encouraging calm, sharing pain, and fostering mental‑health dialogue—while maintaining a conversational, supportive tone.

All right, so this is not Suicide Prevention Saturday, not yet. However, I do think I kind of goofed as far as the way I put it up. I am not entirely sure if at 9 o'clock a new video is just gonna pop up on Facebook and YouTube, so I figured I would hop on now so y'all at least got the whatever that's called, um, the announcement saying that I was going live, because I definitely think I messed up how I put it on StreamYard to show up at 9 o'clock. So you guys may not on YouTube side get an actual live, like where you have live chat, so you all have to comment below both on YouTube and on Facebook. However, to be fair, because it was pre-recorded, I am actually kind of hoping that that's what you guys do because that's way easier for me to like reply to your comments if you just comment below. Um, not for this one. For this one you can say things. Wait, I want to see. Oh, I could, I could do things like say hi, Guns N' Barbecue and Crabby Turtle. But you know, DJ was absolutely number one. Um, and those are all the, all of the, uh, comments I could see so far. So I am driving back from Maine right now, and I don't know, we're closer than we were last time. But this last night, we'd only been to our hotel for about an hour, and we left our house at noon, so it was a really long time. Oh look, a DJ chose to join us! Good job, DJ. I'm really small now. I know what it's like for you being on your phone all the time. Yep. Thank you, G-Webs. Long time no see. I haven't caught you live in a while, but I know you're always out there and you're always checking in on us, so thank you for that. I moved the thing and I forget it's backwards. Hey, Mike, um, thank you again for all of your help last weekend— or was it two weekends ago? I think it's only last weekend. Uh, time does fly. Mike helped us with Oh wait, did I hit that? And then it went away. All right, I, I can't tell, everything's so tiny. DJ, I do not know how you do it so tiny. Um, I also stopped the scrolling so y'all can see the, um, the actual 800 number. All right, so like I said, 9 o'clock there will be a new video dropping. As to whether or not it looks like live or not, that part I have no idea. StreamYard has it ready to go. Um, we'll be driving for at least another hour and then some. So DJ, you got anything to say? Because I know I can't take you off the screen. Are you talking? Oh, I just muted up and listening. Bummer, I could not hear you. Uh, hold on, I'm just gonna make sure— nope, my Bluetooth is off. My speakers are up. I have no idea why I can't hear you. Hopefully everybody else can. So if I see your little— I want to put this up on your screen and, uh, welcome Michael Bellinger. Hmm. All right, so G-Webs, Gun Webs, Guns of Barbecue, can you guys hear DJ and just I can't hear DJ? That's what I really want to know, but we're only going to be on here for another couple minutes. Um, on the plus side, this is not, not a long thing. This is just short so I could explain to you why there was no announcements for Suicide Prevention Saturday, even though it is scheduled for, uh, 9 o'clock. So you can— you guys can hear us both? Cool. Well, I'm glad someone can. Uh, I will just try to read DJ's mind and figure out what he said. And nope, now he's disappearing, so I guess I won't be able to, because if I don't see the wah-wah-wah like, uh, Charlie Brown's, um, teacher, there's just no way that I will hear him. That's, that's annoying. But anyway, and this is why I don't do Suicide Friends Saturday from a phone, because that's— this is a challenge. Um, thank you for getting back to me, guys, all of you. Um, I know you're there and I saw you and everyone else got to hear you, so I'm actually gonna have to go watch the replay so I get to hear what you said. So there was nothing here. So, all right, uh, tonight Coop, um, C&T Designs. He and I were watching some hearings on Thursday or Friday, and, uh, this Suicide Prevention Saturday is inspired by him because he was just like, how do you not punch people in the face when you go to the, uh, um, Capitol and talk to all these people? And the reality of it is everyone has something to offer, and some people are there believing every word that's coming out of their mouth, and there are other people that are there realizing that maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. But the truth of the matter is we are all definitely— we all have something to learn. And I know I go there with the hope that sometime I will be able to help people. Oh, thank you, DJ. So DJ put up C&T Designs. Um, he does a thing every so often called Share the Pain. I'm pretty sure they're always Share the Pain. And what he will do is he will pull up a recording of one of the hearings, usually on gun laws, and I don't even remember which state we were listening to when we were talking about this. So, um, hold on, I know how to do this. DJ, I just want to let you know that now that I'm doing this on a phone right now, I have that much more— oh my goodness, um, congrats for being able to do this because it's not easy because it's this big. Um, so anyway, um He also said go support Brooke on Patreon. Yeah, so actually that is another thing. When the, uh, the video pops up at 9, I do actually have the Patreon link in there because on Patreon I did put up the, uh, actual transcript. Well, it's not actually the transcript, it's what I wrote and what I read off of. Oops. Um, so if you want to see what I was supposed to be reading versus what I did read, um, that will actually be on the Patreon. Oh my goodness, are you in a different time zone, Gina? Because you actually caught us. Um, that's always cool to see you, my friend. And yeah, beautifully driving along in the lovely traffic. Look, we're going by someone. Yeah, very exciting. Not like you all have not ever run down the road. Okay, so in 1 minute I'm gonna pop off, but in theory, in 2 minutes— wait, this is always backwards and hard— in 2 minutes there should be something popping up on all of the channels at 9 o'clock. So, um, oh, the other thing I do have is I've got a bunch of competition, um,, you know, video from today. Uh, myself, my, my husband, my son. Um, I'm not going anywhere. We're coming back from Maine. Uh, the family and I just shot USPSA Area 7, and it was tragic, quite honestly. But, um, it was my first match of the year, so shame on me for, uh having a major match be my first match of the year. You should definitely, uh, knock the rust off somewhere else besides a major match. But, um, we are going home actually. I guess we are going somewhere, but we're coming home from Maine. Uh, yesterday we drove up, it was 8 hours. We left our house at noon, arrived at our hotel at like 8 with gas and all that sort of stuff. And now today we're headed home, and in We'll be home by around 10. You beautiful people, thanks for popping in. I'm gonna sign off, and hopefully in just about a minute there'll be a new video you all can watch for about how to stay calm, or how I stay calm.
