Trigger Control - Yes more!

A shooter documents dry-fire practice on a double-action/single-action handgun, tracking how his trigger control has improved over days. The sights still move when he pulls the trigger, but less dramatically now, and he can fire faster with less displacement.

Ta-da! Alright, so I'm gonna say ta-da every time that I look at the counter to make sure that it's going. Alright, so what is today? Today is still more of the same. I am working on moving my trigger finger without moving my sights. Now, when I do see my sights move, they're still going in that same direction, which again, my first target, if you go back to the beginning when we started this back in July. But the cool part about that is it's not happening as much, and that's really what we're looking for. It's not that— hold on, it's missing. Um, I have a thing that says practice makes perfect, so be careful what you practice. I was going to show it to you, but, um, it's not here right now, so I'll have to show that another time. All right, dry fire. What is our goal? Our goal is to see what input we have on the firearm when it's not going bang. So something like this where I'm really just focusing on my trigger control and verifying I can move my trigger without moving my sights. Now, do your sights move? Yes, all the stinking time. No matter who you are. It's just a matter of degrees, right? So I started doing this drill 3, 4 days ago. I don't have any good— I'm not good at tracking time, and so it occurs to me that my air conditioning is on, so I hope this video is not horrible. So, My goal is, let me move my finger and not see my sights move a ton. So they are getting better in that— do they still move? Yes, they still move. Do they move as much? Can I move my finger faster now without moving the sights? And the answer is also yes. So this is why we dry fire. We dry fire to look and see what we need to work on. Yesterday's was micro drills. Taking everything we do. Now, I have a double-action single-action gun. That is why I draw, and in competition, I will absolutely pull the full double-action. Everything after that will be single-action, so it's a less movement, and on this gun, it's actually pretty short. So that's today's Dry Fire. I hope you all enjoyed it, and yes, they're going to be super short because that's what I have time for after spending the afternoon at the ER with my daughter today. So y'all have a lovely night— day— morning. Oh, good morning, Jen! I hope you're enjoying your coffee. Um, and yes, we should get together to dry fire sometime. I'll talk to you guys all later. Bye!
