In this video, the presenter from A Great Start Shooting Schools explains their hybrid online/off‑line pistol permit training. The classroom portion is delivered live on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm via the internet, covering basic gun safety, firearm types, and action mechanisms. After the online class, students schedule a one‑ to two‑hour live‑fire session at the school to learn loading, unloading, and shooting, at which point they receive a certificate. The presenter walks through the broader permit‑application workflow: obtaining a local 90‑day permit package from the town, city, police department, or state trooper, completing fingerprinting (currently delayed), filling out forms, and then applying for a state carry permit. He details how to sign up online, the deadline (by Wednesday for the upcoming Sunday class), and what students receive in the mailed package (class book, discount code for gungoddess.com, suicide‑prevention pamphlet, gun‑rules sheet, NRA challenge material). He mentions a $10 % discount, a $25 refund if the permit package is completed before the class, and the current range hours (Wednesday afternoon, Friday, Saturday) for live‑fire appointments. The tone is instructional and promotional, encouraging viewers to enroll despite COVID‑related delays.

All right, so it says I'm live just like that. All right, welcome to A Great Start Shooting Schools YouTube channel, and I am popping on because today and every Sunday for the rest of the month, I am continuing to do online pistol permit classes. Now I know one of the first questions, everyone's like, oh, you can do permit classes online? The answer is kinda, in that the classroom portion of this, of the pistol permit class, has been okay to do online. So what happens is Sunday from 9 to 1, we do the classroom portion of the pistol permit class. We go over basic gun safety, how to, um, the different types of firearms, you know, revolver versus— yeah, there's another semi-automatic here somewhere. Uh, semi-automatic, single action versus double action revolvers, all of that fun stuff. So you take the pistol permit class classroom portion online, and then at your earliest convenience, whenever you would like to, you're gonna have to make an appointment with me, and we're gonna do the live fire portion where we teach you how to load, unload, shoot, all that fun stuff. And that will be an additional hour or two here at the, at the school in person, at which point you will then get your certificate. So right now there is still no fingerprinting going on. So this is one of the steps that you need to do in order to get your pistol permit. The first thing you do is in your town or city, you go to the police department or town hall, depending on which you have, or state trooper, and you get the pistol permit package. Some places have it online, some places you have to go get it. Obviously with everything going on right now, call ahead to find out how people are doing it. And then it will go through all your requirements, your safety class, which is what I'm offering, your permit safety class, your basic pistol class. You will need to get your fingerprints. You need to fill out the forms for your town. You are actually applying for a 90-day permit, a local permit. And then once that is done, you apply for your state to get your carry permit. So here's how we're doing this. You can sign up online. I will put the link down below in the description here when I repost this back up when it is done. And oh wait, now that I'm, you know, a live thing, maybe I should just do it right now. So that link there, because I think it's always over the side, um, click on that and you can sign up for any of the Sunday ones. Now, one thing I can't do on my scheduler, which I'm going to kind of just let you guys know about, is I'm going to send you your package, which includes your, your book for the class, along with a bunch of other things. I generally will include— well, when you're coming here, I include a magazine to one of the shooting sports, but for postage purposes, I may not do that. I'll have to see how much that costs. You're going to get your 10% off at gungoddess.com so you can do some shopping. And then I, I'm always a big advocate for suicide prevention, so you'll get the suicide prevention pamphlet from NSSF. You are also going to be getting your, uh, gun rules so that you can refer to them whenever you want without having to pull out your gun. And then as long as I have them, The NRA, um, challenge, which when you're in class I'll explain why this is actually really pretty cool. So if you are looking to get your pistol permit right now, nothing seems to be moving as far as, um, the process and fingerprinting and that sort of stuff. However, if you would at least like to get the classroom portion of this over go ahead, sign up now, and we can do that next Sunday. As long as you sign up by Wednesday prior to your Sunday, you should be getting your package in the mail in time for the class. If you're one of those last-minute people like I tend to be, and you are going to get, you know, sign up on a Thursday or Friday, I obviously can't promise that your permit package will get to you, but you will get it after the class. And what else? What other questions? Yes, there's a written test. Yes, you have to finish the written test prior to doing the, uh, live fire portion of this. And anything else, let me know. Drop a comment down below, like my page if you'd be so kind, subscribe even. And I think that's it. So moving forward, getting you closer to your pistol permit. I have no idea what it's going to be like when everything reopens. I'm guessing it's going to be a little bit on the painful side, but we will see how it goes. But at least get this done. Oh, and I don't publish this anywhere, but I do tell you, if you go and get your permit package from your town or city and you fill it out prior to your, uh, class, I will give you $25 back. Off of your, um, permit class course. Yeah, I can figure that out. So that's it, that's how it's going. Sign up, classroom online. When you are comfortable, you come and take the live fire portion. And then, um, because I'm open now, there's no social distancing when it comes to firearm safety. So if you are comfortable, um, you can take your You can finish the class whenever you want. I'm currently holding range hours Wednesday afternoon, Friday, and Saturday, and you can sign up and get your live fire portion in anytime then. All right then, have a good day. Thanks for watching, and I hope to see you soon.
