A spoken-word piece imagines wishing all guns away, only to watch violence continue with fists, rocks, and knives. The genie points out the flaw: the real wish should be for a world without any violence at all.
Chapters
Imagine if you will, I found my genie in a bottle. I was given one wish. I said, "I wish all the guns in the world would disappear." And they did. But then, I noticed a problem. We still had violence. There was still killing. There were still people beating each other to death with their hands and rocks and knives and cars and all sorts of horrible things. And I was lucky enough, the genie came back and said, "Okay Brooke, obviously you screwed this one up. What would you like? What would be your other wish?" And I realized after seeing that, what I really wanted was for there to be no more violence.
