I'm Camilla McGill, the founder of My Parenting Solutions, and I work with clients from all over the world. I was talking to a client in America this week where children have started back to school in August, and she was saying to me, 'Why is it that he's so difficult when I pick him up, and yet schools say that he's been really, really well behaved during the day?' So listen, here's the thing: we've got to remember that while children are away from us at school, They are using a huge amount of emotional, mental, and physical energy, and therefore when they see us having held it together during the day, we're a safe place for them to let out those emotions. And we need to be empathetic to that, and we need to be understanding. And if we tell them off for being difficult, we're going to damage our relationship with them. I really understand that's easier said than done, but comment below and tell me what you think. Oh, and follow me.
