It is a good day to be alive. So glad that you guys are here today. It is another edition of the Monday Morning Mentor. I am Chad Thibodeau. I want to be your host and your coach today. And what I want to do today is I want to talk with you about how to gain momentum to propel you to greatness. Or perhaps you coach people. How can you coach? How can you get greatness? Or how can you get momentum for people so they can go on to greatness? Maybe you're starting a brand new business and you're trying to gain some clients, you're trying to get some income. What can you do to gain momentum in order to do that? So I want to do that today. I want to come to you today on this beautiful Monday morning here in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm coming to you live from my studio. And I love this topic because in every business you have to be able to generate some kind of momentum. Let me move my camera forward here. You have to be able to generate some kind of momentum in order for you to get started. And so back in my church consulting days, we used to talk about barriers, okay? And this morning I want to talk with you about barriers. So in the church world, you have the 100 barrier, the 200 barrier, the 800 barrier, the 1500 barrier, and the 3500 barrier. These are people who attend your congregation on a regular weekend. And so I put a bunch of trainings together when I was a consultant that would talk to them about how you have to do stuff in order to gain momentum. Because nobody ever creeps through a barrier. You bust through a barrier, okay? So this is why you never see a church of 900 people. Because if you're a church of 800 people and you want to get to 1,000 or 1,200 people, there were some things that you had to do that that literally would just cause you to bust through that 800 barrier and you would go from 800 to 1,000 immediately. Well, in your life and in your business or for your clients, it's the same exact thing. If you have particular barriers that are holding you back, nobody ever creeps through those barriers. You bust through, you bang through, you just literally with force, you just go right through that barrier. And the way that you do that is through momentum. So if you were in the audience with me today, I'd say everybody say momentum. That's what we're going to talk about today. We're going to talk about the big mo. Ok? Now I want to just see If I can give you a sports analogy on this and bring it home. Have you been watching, like, a basketball game or a football game, and, you know, perhaps one team is behind, like, five or six points, and then all of a sudden they go on this run and they may score, like, 14, 16, 18 points consecutively with the other team only scoring one or two or none, actually. And then the coach will jump up and just call timeout. Okay? Call timeout. Well, what we learned in the sports world is you want to call timeout to stop the other team's momentum. Because it's like when you're playing sports and you have momentum, like, every shot you shoot is just going to go through the hoop. Okay? Every time you hand that ball off to the running back, he's going to go for six or seven or eight yards. Why? Because there's something about momentum. When momentum is on your side, it just propels you to greatness. So if you're going to start a business or if you have a business and you're trying to get to that next level, I want to talk with you about the laws of momentum today that get you to the next level. And you don't creep there. You get there by literally exploding through the barrier that's holding you back. So let's talk a little bit about momentum today. If you have questions or comments or whatever, I'd love to be able to fill those live for you. If you're watching us live today, go and put hashtag live. Tell us who you are, where you're from. I'd love to be able to see that. I'm broadcasting live today on my personal page and my professional page and in the Click Funnel Design Academy. And I want to welcome everybody from all around the world. It's time to break some barriers. Okay, so let's talk about momentum. We don't creep through a barrier. We bust through the barrier. So the first thing to gaining momentum is you have to know what your barrier is. You have to know what your barrier is. So when I was playing basketball, every year, we would go up to training camp either at Flagstaff here, or we'd go someplace in Ohio when I was playing there, and the coach would attach to the back of the players. We'd be out in the field. He would attach a parachute to our back, and he would tell us to run as fast as we can. And that parachute would just open up and expand, and it would cause all kinds of wind resistance, and it would make it hard for us to. For us to run. Okay. And so he would do that five, six, seven times. We don't have to run 100 meters with this parachute on. And then the next time, right before you took off, you thought you would have the parachute on, but right before he said, go, somebody unattached the parachute, and you would take off, and, wow, it was amazing how much faster you could run. I mean, you could just. Boom. You could go. And I'm like, wow. Well, you probably weren't really moving a lot faster, but compared to the resistance that you had, it felt like you were going a lot faster. And so this is what happens in business, okay? In business, so many of us have things that are holding us back. In life, we have things that are holding us back. In relationships, we have things that are holding us back that's sort of causing resistance, and we're not being able to go as fast or as rapidly as we want. In fact, sometimes we can't even go at all because of the resistance. And so what I want you to be able to do is, is you've got to be able to identify your resistance, what is holding you back? So the number one rule to momentum is you have to answer the question, what's holding me back? Or you have to answer this question, where do I want to get to that I don't seem to be able to get to? Does that make sense? So, for instance, churches, they wanted to break the 800 barrier. That's where they wanted to get. They wanted to get past 800. So they identified. They identified the goal that they wanted, but they didn't quite understand what it was that was holding them back. Okay, but you have to know one of those two things. You either have to know where you want to go, or you have to know what's holding you back. Because you can't break through any type of barrier in life. You can't break through any type of barrier in your relationship, can't break through any type of barrier in your business if you don't know one of those two things. And A, where do I want to go? Or B, what's holding me back? So the law to momentum, the first law of momentum is you have to be able to identify one of those two things. Where do I want to go? Or what's holding me back? So for so many of you in your business, okay, you're like, well, I just want to, you know, I want to do whatever. Just pick it up. I want to do coaching. Okay, great. I want to do coaching. Well, you got to get a lot more clear on Your definition of coaching, okay, what type of coaching, what do you want to do? But really what you want to be able to understand if you're doing coaching is you've got to understand either what's holding you back or what's caught or where do you want to go. And so what I would tell most of you is you're probably very unclear on where you want to go. You just say coaching, that's too generic. Coaching doesn't work for me. You got to be a lot more specific than just saying coaching. You have to be able to understand that there's a particular outcome, there's a particular transformation that I want not only in my life, but for those people that I work with. And I want that transformation for people. See, a lot of times we get confused. The destination and the vehicle. See, coaching is simply the vehicle that you're going to use to gain the outcome that you want. Okay, that's it. But coaching isn't what you want to do. That's just a vehicle. That's just what you want to drive. The destination, where you want to go is what is the expected or. Yeah, what is the expected transformation that you're going to get for your clients? So you may say, like, for instance, I know that my destination where I want to go is I want to help people. Just like you take your idea and turn it into a business and take your business and turn it into an automated machine so you can dominate, so you can dominate your life, so you can take control of your life. You can get more money, you can have more freedom and flexibility with your family, and you can positively impact those people around you. And, and you can get your life giving message out to the masses. So together we can transform the world. I know that's my destination. That's where I want to go. Now I have multiple vehicles that I use to get there. Some is one on one coaching. Some is group coaching. Some is online teaching and training. Okay. Some is phone calls. Some is mentoring. Some is masterminds. I got multiple vehicles to get me to where I want to go, but I know where I want to go. So you cannot gain momentum in your life or in your business or in your relationships. And unless you know where it is you want to go. Okay, so that's rule number one in getting momentum is gain clarity in either your destination or in what's keeping you back from getting to your destination. Does that make sense? You have to gain clarity around those two things. If you don't have clarity on where it is you want to go or what's holding you back? None of these, none of these rules I'm going to give you actually will work, okay? So you have to be able to do that. Where do you want to go in your life or in your business or in your relationships? What do you want it to look like? And then two, what's holding you back from getting there? When you get clarity on those, then these laws of momentum will really, really, really help you and I. So I hope that this is going to be great for you as we learn to gain momentum that will propel you to greatness. Okay? So let's jump into this, okay? What I want you to do is I want you to think of what Andy Stanley calls the laws of momentum. Okay? The laws of momentum are really simply this new, improved, improving, okay? The law of momentum is new, improved, improving. For instance, when you are. Let's make this up. When you are launching a product and it first comes out and it's new, okay? It's your baby. You put time in it, you put energy in it, you put effort in it. You get geeked out about it. You, you stay up all night with it, okay? You may spend multiple nights with it. Everything that comes out of your mouth is talking about that new little thing, right? It's new, okay? Let's take it out of the business world, okay? Friend of mine just had puppies, okay? Puppy, puppy, puppy, puppy. That's all she talks about is puppies, right? She's got puppies. Some of you have had babies and that baby comes out and it's brand new and oh, you're gag, gag goo. And you're putting pictures everywhere. People are sending you money and cards and they're congratulating you. Now notice what happens, okay, when Your kid is 19 months and is teething and is driving you crazy and you're like wondering whether you made a mistake by having a baby. Nobody sends you cards in the mail with hundred dollar bills, do they? Nobody's throwing a party at their house to give you gifts to help your 19 month old. They don't do that. Why? Because it's no longer new. See, we do that when it's new, right? If you have a new restaurant in town, it gets all the hype, but a restaurant that's 31 years old, it gets no hype, okay? Why? Because it's not new anymore. The law of momentum is new, improved, improving. And so you want to have something new. So if you're trying to get some momentum in your business, then you need to create Something new. Create a new product. Create a new idea. Create a new concept. Better yet. Well, we'll talk about the better yet in just a minute. But something new. New always gets your emotion. New always gets the attention. New always gets the coddling that it needs. And typically, when it gets that, it's nurtured. And we can typically launch it and get it up off the ground when it is new. So Andy Stanley would say that the law of momentum is new, improved, and improving. You think about this. I want you to do a little test today. I want you to go to the grocery store, and I want you to go down the toilet paper aisle. I know. I said it. I want you to go down to the toilet paper aisle, and I want you to find your favorite brand of toilet paper. So mine is Charmin. Okay? I like the Charmin with the lotion in it. I just. I don't know. It just does me good here at the office, in the bathrooms, they got, like. I think it's like, Reynolds wrap or aluminum foil. I can't even go to the restroom here because, like, it's brutal, right? It's like using aluminum foil and a hurts, and I hate it. Right? Which. That's another law. We'll talk about that. So I got to bring my own. I like the nice Charmin with, like, soft and quilted. I'm a prince, man. I'm a king. And so I want to treat my posterior the same way that I want to be treated, so I use the nice stuff. But here's what I want you to think about next time you go to the toilet paper aisle. You ready? I want you to just notice the toilet paper, and I want you to take a look how many places you see the word new. Like, literally look at how many places you see the word new. You will see the word new on nearly every single roll of toilet paper in the toilet paper aisle. Now, question. Is the toilet paper new? No. They've had toilet paper for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. But Charman wants you to think that they've been thinking about it. Charman wants you to think they've been thinking about you. And there's something new and something special about the formulation that they put in this little paper that you use to wipe your posterior, right? And so here's my question is, if Charmin thinks that their toilet paper is so worthy of doing something new, then why not your product? Why not your business? Why not your relationship? Why not try and do something new? Because the law of momentum is new, improved, and Improving. You have to do something new if you're going to gain the momentum that you want. Okay. For instance, you may be in some kind of relationship and it's getting stagnant. You've got to do something new. And what you'll find is when you do something new or something different, I'm not talking about someone. Talking about something, you'll notice that something happens. You get a little spark. And if you're not accustomed to writing love notes to your spouse, and you write a love note to your spouse, that's something new, it's something different. It gets noticed, it gets attention, it gives you a boost into your relationship. So if you're going to get momentum, not only do you have to have clarity on where you want to go or what's holding you back, you also have to understand that I need to do something new in order to propel me from where I am to where I want to go. Why? Because nobody just trickles through a barrier. You bust through a barrier, you break through a barrier. I've been noticing some of the affiliate marketers, and I've been super excited to watch some of them. And they post their screenshots every day on click funnels. And I've been watching this one gal who just like 60 days ago had like 20 affiliates, okay? And then I think this morning she posted and she had 90. Okay? Now why did she get 90? Because she decided that. That her old methodologies were not working, so she had to do something new. Now, she didn't go get a new product. She just changed up her formulation on how she was going to market and brand her existing product. See, that's the. That's, that's new. Okay? So sometimes you have to do something new. Go to the toothpaste style, okay. Have you ever noticed, in fact, I was so ticked off. I love Listerine, Listermin, whatever it's called. I love that toothpaste. And I can't find it anywhere anymore. It's really ticking me off. Why? Why can't I find anymore? I don't know. Because it's been the same thing forever. They don't. They're not changing it up. But if you go there, you'll see Colgate, you'll see Crest, you'll see close up, you'll see Aquafresh. Do you know that they have, like. I think it's 41. I think that's the number. I think I'm accurate on this. Now, do you know that they have 41 different types of Crest toothpaste? 41 different types of Crest toothpaste. And you know that almost every one of them has the word new on it. Literally, just go check me out. Go to your grocery store today. Go to the toothpaste aisle and just look at the toothpaste. And I want you to notice that on every box of toothpaste, it says new. Is it really new? Well, of course not. It's got a new formulation or whatever. But they understand that the psyche of the American consumer or of any consumer, the worldwide consumer, is the fact that if it's new, we want it. That's why iPhone comes out with a brand new iPhone every September. I haven't heard a lot of buzz because I haven't been online very much, but September is coming up in 11 days, okay? And I'm guaranteeing you that before too long, Apple's going to be coming out with a new iPhone. And what's going to happen? What's going to happen when the new iPhone comes? There's going to be stores where people walk around the block waiting in line to get the new. Why? Because the law of momentum is new, improved, improving. You have to do something new. So once you gain clarity on where you want to go and what's holding you back, you have to do something new. In order to propel you to greatness in your business, in your family, in your relationships, or in your life, you got to do something new, okay? Second, you have to do. You have to improve something, okay? You have to improve something. So not only, you know, you don't always have to come up with something new, but maybe you need to improve it. So I've got my little studio here, okay? And that I'm in and I'm filming, and it's sort of new, but I'm beginning to notice in my studio that there's even a couple little things that, oh, I'd love to improve this and I would love to improve that. So when I make improvements to my studio, people come in and they see this place, they're like, oh, my goodness, I got to see that. Because the law of momentum says I need to do something new or I need to improve it. Okay? This is why people change jobs often, right? Because they change jobs. They need a new environment. But you know what? If you just say, you know what? I'm going to not do something new right now, but what I am going to do is I'm going to improve my existing situation. Improvement always garners momentum. Now, I'm not talking about a tweak. I'm not Saying that, you know, I always wear beige and gray, and today I'm going to go beige and black. I'm not saying a tweak. I. I'm saying literally a facelift. An improvement, okay? An improvement. This is why people remodel their kitchen, okay? This is why they go from Formica to quartz. Why? Because it's an improvement. You're going up the ladder. You're getting better, okay? And in your business, when you coach people, okay, you want to be able to do these three things for them. You want to be able to help them offer something new, and you want to improve their existing life, their existing product, their existing business, their existing way of life. If you can improve that from, then, you can propel yourself and them to greatness. So what is it that you have to improve? I'll give you an example. I was talking with someone the other day. This person is a public speaker, okay? And I was talking with him about. He was like, man, my public speaking gigs have slowed. I said, okay. I said, tell me why? And he goes, I don't know, man. He goes, like, five years ago, he goes, I could travel the country and I can give this exact speech. And he goes, I would stand up there. People thought I was the most fun person in the world. The jokes worked, the points worked, and they would pay me a lot of money for my coaching. Now I get up there and it's just, like, sort of flat because my conversion rate has gone way down. I'm like, of course it's gone way down because it's not new anymore. And not only is it not new, but it's not even improved anymore. You have to improve something. So I began working with him on, like, okay, if it's not improved in your mind, it's going to be stale in your mind, and it's going to come across that way. So I began talking with him with this speech about, like, what if we change the beginning up to, like, where it scared you a little bit when you presented this beginning? And what if you got a little vulnerable here and told a story here? Well, let's change this joke up here. Let's use the power of three here. So I began working with him on his little speech and stuff, and I'm really curious to see what happens with this talk. And I'm assuming that when he goes out there and he gives something that's improved, his facial features will be different, his body language will be different, and once again, he'll be able to return to selling. Why? Because the law of Momentum is. Is new, improved, and improving. You got to know where you want to go. You have to gain clarity on where you want to go and what's keeping you from getting there. And then one of those two things. You have to apply these three laws. You have to be new, okay? So if something is holding you back, you got to try a new process. If a product isn't selling, come up with a new product, okay? Or you have to improve it. And I'm talking about drastically improve it. Don't just simply change it. Drastically improve it. And when you improve something, okay, you'll see that you'll get the momentum that will allow you to break through a barrier. And then the third one is improving, okay? So the first one is new. The second one is improved. The third one is in improving, okay? So I have a many of you guys know that I love to design, and I'm a click funnels top 30 designer. I'm lucky to be one of, I think, 15 people in Russell Brunson's Rolodex for recommended funnel builders. And I love to build and design funnels, okay? So I built a membership funnel, and I've done this funnel for five or six people that if I told you their names, you would know all of them because they're all pretty high up in the clickfunnels world, and they're built on the clickfunnels platform. But they don't look anything like the Click Funnels membership sites, because Click Funnel membership sites quite honestly, are quite ugly. But mine aren't ugly. They're beautiful, okay? And I built them, and I just. I think they're gorgeous, okay? I think they're gorgeous. But there came a point when I started looking that at first when it was new, it was so different. I was like, yeah, I got to get it out there. Got to get out there. And I sold a ton of them. And then I made some. I made an improvement, okay? So then I gave. I gave my new one of a huge facelift, okay? It still had the really cool features and functionality that I wanted it. It still got rid of the navigation bar that's so dang ugly on those things. And I really, really improved it, and it looks really good. But last few weeks, as I've been looking at that, I'm like, you know, I think we could do this and I think we could do that. We could do that. And I'm consistently in an attitude of improving. Here's what happens when you're. When you. When your life or when your relationship or when your business or when your product or when you're coaching systems or when you're whatever, when you're in a consistent flow of improving something, you never get married to it. You don't get married to it. And when you don't get married to it, then you're always willing to change what's necessary. Andy Stanley gives us illustration. In fact, you should watch this video sometime. Just Google Andy Stanley old couch. And he talks about this couch that when he got married, they needed a couch. So they went out to the furniture store and they bought the most ugly, God awful looking couch in the world. Well, back then it wasn't ugly. Back then it wasn't God awful. It was one of those cream couches with like potpourri and flowers and florals all over it. How many of you have a couch like that? How many of you have ever had a couch like that? Like, you know, that was just so stinking ugly, okay, and you did this couch, but it fulfilled a purpose back then. So he goes and he tells a story about how it fulfilled a purpose. But after a while, they became emotionally attached to that couch. And so when you become emotionally attached to the couch, you don't even realize how ugly it is. You don't realize how stinky it is. You don't realize how many dog spots you have on it or how many dirt spots you have. You don't realize anything. Why? Because now that couch has moved from functioning, being emotional. So guests would come over. He had made this funny story. He's like, you know, because I think my kids were created on that couch. And he goes, so guests would come over and they would see the couch and they're like, there's no way I'm sitting on that couch. But he didn't even see the dirt. He didn't even see the. He didn't even smell the smell. He didn't. Why? Because it became emotionally attached to him. And when something becomes emotionally attached to you, you will not shift it, you will not change it. And it's one of those things that halts the momentum in your life, halts the momentum in your relationship, halts the momentum in your business, okay? Is when something is stagnant. So if you put whatever you're working on, if you put it in a constant state of improving, you never become emotionally attached to the mediocrity of what it is. And it doesn't matter what it is. It could be the church world, okay? Where you're like, you become attached to a program or you become attached to tradition or you become attached to style of music or whatever. When you become emotionally attached to the tradition, then you can't ever change that tradition without fighting. Okay? In your relationship world, if you become attached to an idea of communication or you become attached to some type of methodology and you're not willing, you're not consistently improving that, then you're never going to shift. You're going to put your feet down, and then when your spouse tries to buck the norm, you're going to have a big, gigantic fight. The same is true in business, okay? When I first started doing coaching for newbies, and that's what I love to do, I love to help people take their idea and turn into a business, I had a method of coaching, I had a system that I wanted to implore and I wanted to help people with. But after a while, that system becomes antiquated because our digital marketing world shifts so much. So I cannot become invested into the way that I used to work, because if I do, then I never will allow it to be in a constant state of improving. And when I'm not in a constant state of improving, then I always go backwards. Okay? It's the law of diminishing returns. Okay? You know, like if you, you know, the first time you, you go to Disney World, okay, you love Disney World, it's so much fun. It's big Mickey Mouse. You look at all the details. You, it's so much fun because you don't know what to expect. And so when you walk into that environment, it's new, right? And the law of momentum kicks in and your experience goes ways up, way up. And the next time you go, it's not quite as fun as it was, and it's not quite as fun as it was. And next thing you know, 10, 12, 14 times, if you don't do something different, if you just continue the same way, the law of diminishing returns will come in and you will not have near the satisfaction of going to Disney World as you did the first time. That's why you have to do something new or you have to improve it, or you have to keep it in a constant state of improving. Why? Because it's your only way to gain momentum in your business, in your life, in your relationships. And that's the only way to propel yourself to greatness. So let me, let me recap for those of you who are just tuning in. We're talking about how to gain momentum to propel you to greatness. And it doesn't matter what you want to do literally, it doesn't matter what you want to do. I've worked with, literally, we were just talking about the other day, 1400 people this year. I've worked with four. I have coached 1400 people in some type of business or some type of relationship or some type of marketing or some type of church world something. 1400 people this past year. That's a ton of people. And something that I can tell you is that if you want to have momentum in your life or in your relationship or in your business or in your organization, if you want to propel to greatness, you have got to get clarity, okay? You have got to get clarity on two things. You have to get on where you want to go, and you have to get clarity on what's holding you back. You have to gain clarity. Because if you don't know where you want there, and if you're not getting there as fast as you want and you don't understand what's holding you back, then they're gonna give up. So you got to gain on where you want to go and what you want to get there. And then you have to understand this principle. The principle is, is that if in order to get to where you want to go, you've got to have momentum, okay? This is why they do thrust around the moon, right? They give themselves a boost of momentum to slingshot around the moon. Why? Because they have to have momentum. This is why sports teams and organizations, you know, they work so hard to get momentum, because once they know they get momentum, it's like a snowball going downhill, but those shots automatically go in. Okay? Everybody makes the catches in football, you know, it's just weird. It just happens that way. Well, you need to do the same thing in your business. You got to get clarity on where you want to go and what's holding you back. And you have to understand that you're never going to get to where you want to go fully unless you have something to propel you. And in relationships, in businesses, with products, with whatever you're trying to do, what gets you from where you are to where you want to go, you Momentum. You've got to do something to get yourself momentum. Now, what I skipped over earlier is. Let me give you the definition of momentum. Here's what the definition of momentum is. The definition in my definition of momentum is when you have a series of events that are stacked, a series of wins, okay? Series of wins or series events that are stacked together consecutively to get you to where you want to go. That's What I think momentum is, okay? Momentum is a series of wins, okay? Or a series of events that when stacked together, propel force to get you to where you want to go. Okay? That's, that's what I think momentum is, okay? Now other people may have other definitions of momentum, but I think it's a series of, of things that help you gain and sustain momentum is you have to have a series of something. So this is why, like, you know, this is why when I coach people, I just want to simply get them forward motion, okay? Andy Stanley says momentum is forward motion fueled by a series of wins. I like that one better. Forward motion fueled by a series of wins. Okay? Now here's the thing with momentum. When you have momentum and you're going in the right direction, you begin to fall in love with the problems that are created by momentum as opposed to the problems that are created by a lack of momentum. So think about it. When you have a lack of momentum, you have a lack of money, you have a lack of clarity, you have a lack of purpose. But abundance of frustration, abundance of aggravation and abundance of self doubt when you have a lack of momentum. But when you have momentum, you begin to fall in love with those kinds of problems. You don't have any problem with like, oh my gosh, I have too much money. That's a pretty good problem to have. Oh my gosh, I'm not sure that I can fulfill all of those clients. Great problem to have. You don't mind those kinds of problems, okay? When you gain momentum, okay? But a lot of our businesses lack momentum. They're beginning to drag. There's something forcing them back and you don't quite understand what it is. But in the marketplace, when a company lacks momentum, they have to do something about it immediately or the company goes under. However, in mompreneurship or in solopreneurship, or in small business world or a small church world, we typically have a tendency to not do a whole lot about our lack of momentum. We just keep working harder. We just keep trying. We just keep doing. We just keep banging our head against the wall. And what I'm telling you is that's the wrong way to do it, okay? Your in your life is to difference in the world. The only way you're going to get to where you want to go is through momentum. So momentum has the ability to disrupt the status quo, okay? And that's what you're trying to do. You're in a pattern, you're in a cycle, you're in A pattern that you go through that's got you want to go. And for so many of us, that pattern served us. Served us really well for a while. But now the pattern isn't serving us very well at all. Some of us have slowed down because they're actually gone in reverse. Some of us are at the point where we're getting ready to quit or business or quit our relationship or we're getting ready to give up on our product launch. Why? Because momentum has stalled. Okay, well, momentum, by its definition, will disrupt that pattern. Okay. Will disrupt it and will allow you to go forward. I'm so excited about this. I'm doing a webinar. Not a webinar, but I'm doing a mastermind this week in Minnesota. And it's a different lot, different mastermind because normally when I do masterminds, I'm introducing people to myself and trying to sell a ton of stuff. And this particular one, it's not going to be very big, but it's going to be people who are going to this dream 100 con where I'm a VIP at and I'm doing a free mastermind for them. And one of the things that we're going to be talking about is we're going to be talking about the idea of a race. So I want you to picture in your mind a race. Okay? So let's say that you have a bike and I have a bike, and we're getting. We're going to race. Okay? We're going to race. Okay, you ready? You're on your bike. You got your bike. So we're at the starting line. You see the finish line way down there, and you're on your bike and I'm on my bike. We're waiting for the guy to say go, and we're going to race to get to the finish line. However, at the last second, the rules change. And the idea is not to be the first one to get to the finish line, but beat the last one to get to the finish line. So in other words, you're trying to see how slow you can go. Well, here's what we know about a bike, okay? A bike without forward motion causes you to lose balance, right? If you're not moving forward on a bike, you lose balance. And when you lose balance, you fall because momentum is forward motion fueled series of wins, okay? Same way thing with riding a bike. Riding a bike only works when you put in front of the other and you begin cycling. Now, those wheels are moving. Faster those wheels are moving, the easier it is to balance. The slower the wheel, the harder it is to balance. The same is true in your life. The same is true in your business. Same is true with your product. The same is true with your relationships, is when you're going slow, because I hear so many of you say, oh, I just want to take it slow. Want to go slow? No, don't go slow. Momentum, new, improving. Get clarity on where you want to go. Get clarity on what's holding you back and do something new, improved, improving to get you to the next level. You. You to do that. Because if you're riding a bike and the goal get to the finish line as slow as you could, you're going to very rapidly figure out that you can't stay up on that bike. Okay, you're going to fall down. Well, the same is true in life. If your life isn't making forward momentum, if you're not moving forward in life, you're stagnated and you're going to be off balance and you ultimately will fall, and you ultimately fall. So you've got to do something to disrupt that pattern. You're that pattern in that momentum is where that comes in. You've got to do something to do that. So if you're going to product, you're going to business, you're going to build a relationship, you have to gain momentum in your life. You either have momentum or you don't have momentum. Okay, it's one of the other. It's black or white. But don't you have it? And if you have it, then you know that you're going to have clarity. You want to go, and what's keeping you from getting there. And if you have it, you know that you can do something about it. But by doing something new, improved, or improving. So what are you going to do in your life or in your business or in your relationships or with your coaching to do something new. Now, one little tidbit that I'm going to get out of here. There is an idea that I have to go all the way or I won't go any. I won't go anyway. Does it make sense? So I'm either some of you are like, okay, I'm going to my business is going to make me a lot of money, or I'm not going to do it and get into my business at all. And I want to see if I can debunk that myth. Okay? And what I want you to do in your life or with your clients is so let's say that you're working with a client and you are going to help them launch a Facebook ad agency. Let's just make that up. Well, when you were to write down a list of everything that you do in order to launch a Facebook ad agency, you're going to notice that that list is incredibly long. And when you look at it, it can be superbly overwhelming. What I want you to do is I want you to understand that momentum is simply forward motion fueled by a series of wins. And what I want you to do is I want you to begin creating a set of micro wins for yourself and for your client. You have to be able to create a set of micro wins. You got, you know, you got to be able to do something to get them from here to here. Let me give you an example. So I got a client that I'm working with right now. She's creating a Facebook ad agency for chiropractors. And there's a ton of stuff for her to do, okay? A ton of stuff for her to do. And I know that if I just give her the whole to do list, that it's going to be completely overwhelming for her. So I've changed up my way that this particular person. Now what I do is, is I've given her the big picture so she can see where we're going, but I haven't given her all the steps to get. Now what I do is I'll give her one assignment at a time. I'm like, okay, here's what I want you to do. I want you to go and I want you to write a headline that elicits emotion, that puts curiosity into benefit. And here's seven or eight or 10 or 12 samples that you can look at it. I want you to go, and I want you to write me five headlines, okay, that do this. And then I want you to ping me when you're done, and then we'll take the next. And so what I've learned with this coach is it's simply getting her a series of wins. So every day I can get this gal a win, okay? When she gets off the phone with me, she knows exactly what to do. She can do it. She can get a win. Okay? The next call, go do this. She can do it, and she gets a win. Next call, go do it. She does it, and she can get a win. I'm beginning to create a series of wins for this particular person. And what's happening is that snowball is beginning to go down the hill rapidly. And by giving her a series of wins, I'm creating momentum for her life. And. And this gal who just a couple months ago thought I couldn't now understand can. Why? Because she has done it. And she feels like that every time we give her a small task to do and she gets it done. She begins to build momentum in her life and momentum in her business. And now her mindset is shifting. And now her mindset is shifting from I don't know if I can to heck, yeah, I can. And when that mind shift, then now she implies the three laws of momentum, which are new and improved and improving. Okay, so now she can do it new. Okay, yes, I did a headline like this now, but, boy, now that I understand a little bit more about headlines. Wow. I can put a new headline in there using my new mindset. So when you're in the business of helping people, remember that you don't always have to get them to the finish line. Sometimes you just have to get them to the next line. Does that make sense? So if you've got a football field. This is why I love football. Football, you don't have to make a touchdown on every play. You don't have to make a first down on every play. But you get four downs to make a first down, and you have an unlimited amount of downs to make a touchdown as long as you can keep getting a first down. So the goal always isn't, hey, let me go get a touchdown. The goal in football is, let me make a first down. And so in. In your business world, the same thing is true. And I can't wait to teach this over the next three, four, five masterminds that I've got coming up is I want to teach you how to create lines for your clients so you can get them a quick win. You don't have to win the game, but you have to get a micro win within the game in order to keep their spirits up, in order to keep the momentum flowing. So I want you to process that today. I know it's a little shift from what I've been teaching on earlier today, but I want. I want you to process that. What can I do to get a micro win for my client today? So we get a new set of downs, so to speak, and I can get them another win tomorrow and another win and then another win, and next thing you know, the momentum has disrupted their stagnated business and they are on an upward trend, Not a downward trend. What kind of micro win can you give them? Okay, I'm going to do my entire teaching again in three minutes. Here we go. You ready? Okay. If you want to succeed in life and in business, in relationships or launching your product, then you have got to gain momentum. You've got to gain momentum. But before you gain momentum, you have to make a decision. Or you have to have clarity on where you want to go with your business or where you want to go with your client, or where you want to go with your product or where you want to go with your relationships. Then you have to have clarity on what it is that's holding the you back. You have to have clarity on one of those two things. Not necessarily both, although it would help. But you have to have clarity on one of those two things. If you don't know either one of those, you're never going to gain momentum. So go get clear on where you want to go or what it is that's holding you back then. The pattern of stagnation can be disrupted by momentum, which is forward motion fueled by a series of wins. Okay, Just like when you're riding a bike, you and the goal is, here's the starting line, there's the finish line. You're racing your best friend, but the rules have changed. Now it's not the person who gets there first, because that's easy. What about the person who gets there last? You begin to understand that with a bike, when your wheels are not going forward in motion, you can't stay up on your bike. The same thing is true in life, and the same thing is true in relationships. Same thing is true in business. Okay, if your wheels are not forward moving, you're going to be off balance. You're going to tip over and you are going to fail. This is why momentum has got to be created. You always love the problems that you have when you have momentum. Okay, Wow. I don't know if I can onboard three more clients. Oh, my goodness. You know, I don't know if I can fulfill those clients. Wow. I'm just making way too much money right now. I think I need to go hire an assistant. I think I need to go hire a salesperson. Those are great problems when you don't have momentum. We hate those problems. Can I pay rent? Can I even pay for my clickfunnels account? You know what I'm saying? So when you have momentum, you love those problems. When you don't have those momentum, you don't have it. So how do you create momentum in your life or in your business or in your product or in your relationships? How do I create momentum? We create momentum by new, improved and improving. New, improved, improving new triggers. Momentum. Anything new, by definition, generates some kind of momentum, okay? Any. Any type of it can be positive or negative. You think about the negative, okay? Not 911 was a negative event, but it generated positive momentum for the unification of our country. Okay? Okay. You think of these, these kids in Thailand that were trapped in the cave, okay? Negative, negative event, positive momentum, okay? Positive momentum. You see this in churches all the time. When they get a new pastor, you get a little boost in momentum. When you get a new leader at your organization, you get a new boost in momentum. When you change direction, you get a new vision or new strategy, you get new momentum, you get a new product or a new program, you get new. So new always triggers momentum, okay? So when you're evaluating your life, or you're evaluating your relationship, or you're evaluating your business, you're evaluating the launch of your product, you have to ask yourself, what is it that I can do that's not new? Okay, it's new that will create momentum. Now, but remember, new does not guarantee sustained momentum, but it is an essential trigger to create momentum, okay? So sometimes you have to do something new. Let me give you a personal example, okay? I'm gonna. I don't know what to call it. I've got a goal that I'm gonna do 44 masterminds during my 44th year here, okay? So I'm gonna be 43 and 11, 44 in 11 days, okay? So in 11 days, I'm going to do 44 masterminds, okay? I'm gonna kick off the start of 44 masterminds, okay? So I got to do something new. So I did something crazy, okay? What I did was crazy was I said, how many of you would like to have an all expenses paid trip to Funnel Hacker Live, okay? Where I'm going to pay you your round, round trip airfare. I'm gonna pay your ticket in, I'm gonna pay for the four nights at the Host Hotel, and I'm gonna give you $250 cash that you can spend on food while you're there. I said, how many of you would want to do that? How many of you would want in? And then I gave a very low barrier of entry where people can do that. And why is it low? Because all you have to do is host a mastermind in your town and get 24 people to pay 99 bucks and the trip is yours. That's it. That's super low for everything that you get. So. But what, what was I trying to do was, is that something that I Do all the time. I'll go bankrupt. But it is something that I can do quickly. It's something new that triggers some momentum. Now I literally have students all around the world. I have students all around the world who are. Who are text messaging me, said, I want to host you. And so I'm putting them on assignment. I got to get a venue. I got to know what the chances are you getting 24 people are before I commit to it. And then I'm beginning to buy plane tickets. And I'm getting ready to launch 44 masterminds over the course of next year. Okay. I have people running Facebook ads to Masterminds I'm attend. Why? Because they want a shot at going to funnel hacker live or all expenses paid. Right? So I did something. I inserted something new, a contest. I inserted something new into my strategy that's now beginning to propel me to greatness. Okay, does that make sense? So you have to do something new, then improved. This must be a noticeable improvement over the old. It can't just be a tweak. It's got to be a significant improvement. Okay? You've got to. It can't just be a facelift. It's literally got to be an improvement. For instance, okay, let's. Let's take it out of the. Let's take it out of the business world and put it back in the. Like, in the church world. Okay? So, my gosh, I don't even know how many. It's hundreds of churches that I've consulted now over the last 20 years, 22 years doing this. And what we tell them is if all you do is make some painting changes and make some carpet changes, but the core of what you're doing is the same, you're never going to see momentum in your organization, in your church world. You literally have got to do something massively to improve it. This is why so many times when a church is failing, we'll make a recommendation that the senior leadership be changed. Because a lot of times of the senior leadership, they're the ones that are stopping the change. Why? Because of fear and insecurity. So sometimes we say, you have to go do something new. Fire the pastor, get a new pastor. But if we can get a pastor to pay attention to us, we can go to him and we can talk with him about literally making a shift, an improvement in his teaching style. We're like, dude, you know, you've been preaching the same way now for 30 years. But the way we learn is so much different. Technology is so much different. Okay, You've got to make a change in that. We may talk about, like, the music. Like, dude, you've done the same style of music forever. It may be time to shift it, but you can't shift it to bed. You have to have a significant improvement in what you're doing. So sometimes you just can't make a tweak. You have to make a massive improvement with what you're doing. This is why I always start things off with beta launch, okay? So I can beta launch something. I can launch it out to the world, but when I go for real, it. It's got to be a massive improvement over the beta launch or people won't pay me the money for it. Okay? And the third part one is we. So that's improving. Or. Excuse me, that's improved. And the third one is improving, okay? Momentum is sustained through continuous improvement, okay? You always have to consistently be improving your product. This is why when you go down to the grocery store and you look at toilet paper, okay? Charman's been making toilet paper for 50 years, okay? But you notice. You just go look at it. Look at how many times the word new is on their toilet paper because they want you to think that they're improving their product, okay? Continuous improvement requires continuous evaluation. You have to consistently be evaluating your product. You can't be married to your product. You have to be evaluating your product and making consistent improvements. That's how we generate momentum from. For our business. And then finally we said. Finally we said that since momentum is forward motion fueled by a series of wins, then as a business owner or as a coach, you need to help your people get first downs, not necessarily touchdowns. So what is something they can do today to get some kind of win that will propel them to go tomorrow, that will propel them to go the next day so eventually they can score, okay? In your relationship, your relationship may be in the tank, okay? You may not be able to reconcile the entire thing today, but what can you do today to help get yourself a little bit more of momentum? We always say all the time, what can you do today to help you do tomorrow? What you can't do today. Okay, so do something today that you can do, okay? Do something today that you can do to help you do tomorrow. What you can't do do today get yourself a series of wins. Well, guys, I hope that was helpful. Helpful to you, and just, you got to build momentum. You got to grow momentum in your life, in your business, in your relationships. If you're going to be successful at what you do. I really encourage you guys to go watch Andy. Stanley's trading on this. It's one of the best that I've ever seen on it. I highly recommend it. Go watch it. Thank you, guys. Have a great day and we will see all of you very soon.
