Dr. Charles Mok explains when to use coronary artery calcium scans versus CT angiography for heart disease screening. For medium-to-high risk patients, CTA with AI analysis like Cleerly gives millimeter-by-millimeter plaque measurements that CAC scans cannot provide.

If somebody is low risk, I think the coronary calcium scan is a great place to start and understand where has your body been? You know, is your body forming plaque despite you having a good cholesterol? Is your body already forming this process of atherosclerosis? For people that are medium to high risk, I really think the coronary calcium scan is kind of useless. When people have that medium to high risk, I really send them right for the cta. CTA and Clery, it does the same thing. We can take that point, coronary cta, and run it through the clearly AI analysis. And that, as you mentioned, is a phenomenal tool. It uses AI to take your coronary artery, which is usually very curved and, you know, all over the place, lines it up. And we get a millimeter by millimeter interpretation of what kind of plaque you have and your plaque burden. And it gives us numbers.
