Dr. Charles Mok explains the difference between lipodissolve and Kybella, two injectable treatments for fat reduction. Lipodissolve is a compounded medication combining phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, used in the U.S. since 2004. Kybella, made by Allergan, uses deoxycholate alone.

Lipodissolve is using a compounded medication that's made in FDA approved lab called phosphatidylcholine Deoxycholate, two different words, phosphatidylcholine and deox cholate. We've been doing this in America since 2004. That's when it first came to the United States. It's a generic form. There's a, there's a branded one called Plaquex. There's also something called Kybella, which is made from Allergan, where they use one of those two components, the deoxycholate alone for the destruction of fat.
