Doing your show, building up your people, doing it consistently. And then you say, all right, well, I've been doing this shit. What's gonna take me to the next level? It's not just because, okay, I'm potting. You work and I work and I work. We're gonna put $1,500 together and we're gonna go get us five guests, and that's what's gonna make. Okay, you gonna get five guests, but what are you gonna talk about? Is it gonna be dope?
I got to 5,000 followers pretty quick. But I use, like, people that follow me off Instagram, that want to learn real estate. Then I'll promote on Instagram, my show, right? And then they'll watch and learn. And the show is just highlighting dope individuals that make money in real estate through non traditional ways.
Okay?
So if you want to make money in real estate, but you don't have, like, a father or a homie who's doing it, and you just know, like, real estate makes money, you can watch the show and figure out, like, how regular people got into real estate without like the education or whatever else other people think you need. It's like, wait, I could do that. Because some people make money like as an inspector, right? Some people might make money as a notary, go into closings all day, but if they line them up, they really can run a bag through real estate, being a notary at closings. So I interview people like that and let them tell their stories and stuff.
I think because we're so immersed in the hip hop culture, it's part of our DNA and our fabric. Whether even if you're just a nerd that likes certain parts of the music. Now, the tricky part is real estate's sexy. Now, we've had a lot of women sit on here. They would rather go for the exciting, criminal, provocative lifestyle of a guy versus a guy who even in real estate, you saying notary inspector, I get all the lingo and I get, like you said, run the bag up and nobody would know. How's that going to translate towards making sure you are popping within the rest of your lifestyle? Unless you just blowing money ridiculously. I think that's the key to getting your content past a different stratosphere. What's the sexy vibe of real estate? You gonna have to pull up in a Ferrari at a closing, which shouldn't make any sense technically.
Oh, it depends on who you marketing. To white people it doesn't make sense. But to black people, it makes a lot of sense.
I, I, I can't. There's a guy by the name white people. They into that.
White people want to see us. That verif. That validates me, right? So the white person with the Ferrari, everybody. No.
Yes.
Me pulling up in a Ferrari or a Maybach, they treat me different than when I'm driving the hooptie.
Yeah, of course that. But I'm saying like to, to the race of people, right? You could go to closings and you can make money to me with white people if I have the new Accord.
I don't think so.
I could.
No, you know why? Here's what I'm gonna say. Hold on, I'm gonna tell you. Are you familiar with Manny Cosman?
No.
He's a big real estate mogul out on the west coast. I didn't know he was a real estate mogul. He has big closings that he sold for $25 million in Houston. All of that. But his notoriety is his car collection. So now it's to the point people want to get real estate from him because of his car collection. And how fancy it is. It's transitioning. I don't think he's wrong. I just think now we want to see so much in our. Probably transition in my mind.
But you can't compare a man with a car collection to a dude with one car. I mean, but car collection is a totally different. A car collection is a white man's vibe, I understand. Not a black man's vibe. So if you're marketing to a black person, oh, yo, I'm pulling up anything foreign, right? Real talk. If they're coming to buy a house, this is real. Especially if they coming from a. Don't let them come from a hood and get a couple dollars. If you pull up in a Beamer, a 750 something plus something crazy Maybach, any type of Bentley or Cullinan, they want to buy the house from you.
That's what I'm saying. That's what happened with him.
And they want to buy it.
Yes.
The right person wants to buy the house from you because you are flossing.
So we talking about the same house?
The same two, three.
Three bedroom, two bathrooms?
Same same. No, same seller. You.
But I'm selling it.
Yes.
All right, I agree. And this why.
Let's go check it out. Let's talk about it.
This is why I agree. Because a lot of times you see an NBA athlete's old house for sale, right? Automatically it's like, yo, I could buy such and such house. And you see it all the time. Mike Tyson house. How many times have been flipped through celebrities? Like 50 owned it, right? The one in Connecticut. Yes, 50 owned it. He mapped it out and did his.
Thing, nightclub and everything. He been in the house. So he know it is.
And then I think Rick Ross got somebody else's own Holyfield's crib. Holyfield, right. So the name of who it's being bought for or the perception of who it's being bought for matters. It does matter. So like you saying if I'm selling a house, which the seller don't really be there, right? The agent, the person. Like, if I'm selling it, I'm not there showing it. The real estate person is showing it.
Okay, I'm thinking. I'm talking about the real estate person.
I'm talking about I'm selling a house.
If I.
And I'm saying if I come and.
Put me back in Cliffside park where I used to live at, right? And you say, yo, I found some crisp for you in Cliffside park. They. They're not 7, 700.
They 850. Okay.
All right. The 850. But I told you 700. Yo, all I'm seeing is 850. And I pull up and I'm meeting you for the first time, and you pull up in something lit. Yeah. I'm buying that house.
Follow my.
Yes, yes.
If I'm a black person, I'm about the house from you. Yeah.
Now, if you pull up in a Prius, I'm gonna be like a black person.
Agree.
But I feel like a white man will let you pull up in a Prius. No, will let you. You sell. Now, I'm white.
White to white or black.
No, black to white. I'm Randall. I'm Randall, right? That's my real name. That's my real name. I'm Randall, but I'm white. Okay. Right. And. And you say, yo, I got a house for 850 for you, and you pull up in a Prius.
Yeah.
I feel like the white man's gonna take you seriously still. I don't think so.
On the show, we say whatever we want.
Yeah.
Go for it.
They don't fuck with us as much as they do in a Prius, as they do in a Made by Ghost. And I pulled up in both, right? Nike tech suit, whatever kicks that we always wear, Right? They look at me like black. Whatever.
They trying to come up.
Yeah, he on his way. On his way. They don't ask me a whole bunch of nothing. Or they ask me a whole bunch of, how long you been doing this?
Yup.
Interrogation.
Where'd you go to school? Where'd you do this? Right. I pull up in a Maybach or a Ghost. I'm validated, okay? They asking me now, what should they do more? So what should they do? Should I do? I think it's a good buy. I'm validated. There's no how long you've been doing this. They don't care. I could be a dropout, right? I could be a dropout, but I got money. The perception of money. They rock with me. Same thing with black people. However, black people. And this is why I don't really do lifestyle marketing. So I do got a car collection.
Right?
The same thing with black people. Thank you.
But the black people that rock with me because of that, I don't want them. Because they think they gonna go from where they at to where I'm at overnight.
Yup.
So I'd just be like, yo, you know, I got a little car collection. I don't. If you've seen them, you've seen Them right? Sometime I go on the Instagram live and something and they be like, damn, Charles, like, all right, I ain't know you was riding with that, but most times I try to keep that stuff away because I want people to really understand real estate and the steps that you gotta take to get where I'm at. You gotta start where I started. I put 20 years in, right? So I don't show that stuff oftentimes. Like, I got on no jewelry, no cars, plain Jane, everything. And I more so look to get your attention through education. Like, yo, let me teach you how to buy land. Let me teach you how to do certain things and see that it works. So a lot of my marketing, I just be showing like, I built a house. I look just like you, we talk the same, but I built a house. You buying yours from Trulia and Zillow and you think you killing it, but somebody built it for half the price and they still hitting you over the head for 800. So your flex, yo, I got the million dollar crib. My flex is I sold one and it only cost me 400,000. It's a little different.
Yeah, it's a little different.
So, yeah, that stuff matters. And that's why sometimes I might switch up my car where I'm going, because it do matter. Sometimes you want to pull up in something that's going to just automatically validate you, you got to say Showstopper. You saying way less.
See, for me, it's hard for a car to validate because I've been around so many that just getting.
He doesn't understand. He's an anomaly. He just thinks everyone thinks like this.
That they get that they just find ways to get nice cars, but they don' having shit. I be around these motherfuckers and they'll have three cards. They'll pull up in the main back. Hello, friends. Guess who? That's right, it is I the replacer. Once again, I've been called on so you can play the new Call of Duty Black Ops 7 with three expansive modes, 18 multiplayer maps, and the tastiest zombie gameplay you've ever played. Freaking scene available November 14th pre order Call of Duty Black Ops 7 now rated M for mature. Pull up in the bins, they'll have this. I'm just saying why? Why? It doesn't personally impress me. Yes, you could still pull up in that. And I know you're broke. Like I know it. You know what I'm saying?
Because you, you educated at a different level, right? Just think of who they marketing to they marketing to like dudes on the corner. Yeah, it's not that don't know shit that never been inside or never will be in the back of a Maybach or in a ghost or wouldn't know how to open the door with the button on the ghost. That shit is a dream to them. That's everything that's you made it to them until when you get it, it drive the same as every other car. And you like, you tired of it don't even matter to you. Then you like, yo, that shit don't mean nothing.
Don't mean nothing.
But the reality of it is a lot of us are those people that still looking like, yo, look at that. Oh, it must be nice, right? Yeah, you pulled something crazy.
I hate that line. I hate that. I hate that line.
That just shows you they don't understand the work that put into it there.
Must be nice.
That must be love sign.
It's crazy you be offended by the it must be nice line.
I'm not offended because there's nothing to be offended by. But I know it's jealousy in there, you know what I'm saying? So that's the thing about the lines. I'm a person that subliminals don't get past me. I might not answer it, but I'm keen to it. And usually I'm paying attention to it. So I know when people be like, yo, I gotta invite this time or yo, I thought you forgot about me, nigga, I'm doing stuff that you wouldn't be at. This is private invite for tastemakers and people making moves, you know what I'm saying? So you wouldn't come there. Now if I have something like, for example, I'm doing an all black party, which I'm invite you whatever, pull up in something crazy for my shit marketing.
Don't bring that Prius B.
Not for the niggas. Cause my party's gonna be for the niggas. So for the niggas, like I said, you pull up and you pull up into something nice.
You want to show the excellence.
Now if it was something like our pop up shop, something that we're doing, really exclusive and toned down, I wouldn't say I would be like, nah, this is a whole, this is a whole different vibe. But this is nightlife, nighttime. Yeah, midtown, very exclusive impression, fly shit, you would come to that, you know what I'm saying? But it's like, it's just like all those. That's the point. I'm saying for all those different type of things. For me, it's a different type of mental thought process. And because I'm always looking, I've been privileged to be behind the curtain.
Yeah.
So when I'm telling people, yo, this. Yo, this was behind the curtain, and they don't believe it, I'd be like, yo, none of this shit really mean. I tell them all the time. People look at me about my jewelry, right. I'll sometimes wear my rings. I want earrings, or whatever. And I'll be like, I'm just moody because I went through a stage of life that I realized that it's not what I thought it was.
Yeah. That's the thing on one side of the fence, right? And y' all hear this a lot. They say, yo, you gotta let them people go to get to the next level. You gotta shed some fat. Some of the homies. Everything ain't for everybody, right? Entourages, you gotta leave day one.
Everybody can't go.
Everybody can't go. The reality of it is. And it's tough sometimes when you make it, right.
Yeah.
Because it be fake friends up there.
It be bullshit.
It be politics. It be the same level of bullshit that's.
That's on the block with your niggas.
Yeah, but. But so here's my concept, right? If I've been rocking with you for 15, 20 years, and we just been on the block, even if we on the block, drinking, smoking, whatever, right. You still my man. I still rock with you. You just don't really understand. And get it where I really went hard and I made it to this level. But I still feel like you can't let your day ones go like that. And a lot of times to make it, they be telling you like, yo, you gotta. You gotta. You gotta get into different rooms. You gotta let go of certain stuff.
What's a day one?
I'll say that the friends that you have on the block, I struggle with letting them go. Because they really your friends. They your friends because y' all grew up together. Y' all on the block. Y' all bonded. We argue, we fight over the.
Let me help you with something.
You need those relations.
No, you don't.
You don't. I agree with everything you're saying, but I've lived a life where I had to eat a lot of grenades. When we first started this show, he didn't know me from a can of paint. We had years in, but is still a trust thing. So he bought somebody into this show. That was a day one. As you can see, they're not here. Yeah, and he had to eat the grenade.
And the day one talked about me crazy.
And now is that an isolated situation?
No, let's.
Let's. Let's say that's what it is.
No, it's not what I'm saying.
With day ones, I agree with it.
I don't want to be all of them.
I don't want to let them go. But there's certain things, by proximity, I get the advantage of being around with him. But if we didn't have the years in, I wouldn't be with certain shit that he's doing and vice versa. So certain day ones, you gotta compartmentalize them, in my opinion.
Yes.
You gotta compartmentalize them.
And then. Let me jump in here, because. Go ahead. No, you go ahead.
Yeah, yeah. Cause you saying some shit.
You gotta compartmentalize them, Right? Like the block is the block. We just saying the block, hypothetically, right?
The homies on the block, your neighborhood, the niggas.
The niggas you came up the N. That you regularly knew before you blew up.
Regularly knew is key. Not be with, but knew. Yes, because that's the point. Because that's the point. That's the point. That's the point. I'm trying to get to. Because this is what I want to say. And I'm always give credit to Joe Button for this. You gotta be exact on this camera.
Yeah, it can't be.
Oh, this is what I meant. No, this is what I'm talking about, because that's what I was gonna say. It's a difference between day ones. I know. I'm from Rochdale Village. It's a lot of day one niggas. Sandbox niggas there, right? A lot of sandbox niggas was haters. Okay.
Yes.
Okay, so. So we gonna cancel out.
Okay.
We gonna cancel them out.
The circle, Right.
Okay.
The niggas that come to your house.
Okay. Don't leave them. See, See the niggas that watch. Yeah, yeah, that's different.
Jets, giants that scream and yell and shit. And y' all see for me, play fight them.
That moves around, too. I got one friend, Cheeky. Cheeky's been my friend for long, right? But this is how friends evolve, right? Because you gotta remember, people get older and they change. This is the thing that they. If you like you making money, you gotta.
You're discredited.
You're gonna discredit. Wait, hold up. I got you. Right, but you're discrediting. Not. Not discredited. You're not mentioning change. Yeah, okay. Jealousy changes a no matter how much you want to go back. No. Yo, I love you, bro. Yeah, yo, whatever I got, bro. Yeah, I' ma hold you down, bro. I don't want to ask, bro, though. Yeah, it's them niggas. Yeah, okay. How the am I supposed to know what you need? Well, you should already know. You up in the sky. Why you not asking?
I know. Yo, bro, you knew I wanted to come.
How the I know. Let me cook. This is what I'm saying. Because you talking like this is a perfect world and then you got a couple dollars.
That's why I said I struggle with this. Because I'm not leaving, like, my day.
So when hit the fan up here, you're leaving them.
I'm gonna tell you why. No matter how much you go back, it's only this amount of time. Yeah, because you know why? You know why. Why you here with us?
Yeah, you out there work.
You got. You got to keep working. Yeah. Yeah. You got to keep making your money. You got your car collection. Yeah, you got to. You, you. You got your podcast that you launching. Yeah, you got that. You want to do money to charge your car.
Yo, the trickle chargers.
My question to you, before you validate the homies that ain't doing that, you want to go save before you validate them?
Go ahead.
You are saving them.
Yeah, you're gonna save them.
How you. How you have time?
That's who I with.
So.
So when I want to hang out, I'm not with the fake ass niggas that invited me to a developer conference. Those are not my friends with me. Cause I'm black. I got motion in the game. I'm building in a certain area. I know why they fuck with me. So when it's so.
So.
So that whole business shit is over 8, 9 o', clock, I'm shooting back around the way, back to the homies that I know rock with me regardless where I'm at. Yes, I got to deal with the. Must be nice. Yes, I gotta deal with. Oh, you doing another pod.
Where your girls and your girls at? You got time for your bitches? Come on, son. Yo, I don't wanna go into this. We talking about what we going into or what? We not going into this matters, bro. Because you. You telling me you got all this time? You got time to make money?
No.
So this time you got time to. You got time to travel, you got time to eat good, build your car collection, do a podcast, make videos and chill with the.
And help them.
Not all the time. Not all the steamer Here, give me the dirt.
Work is stressful. My life is a disaster.
Help me. The first is mental clutter.
The second is physical clutter. One requires meditating, the other requires Stanley Steamer. Start with what you can control, then go outside.
It's cheaper than a spa.
No appointment required. Book your deep clean now@stanleysteamer.com Tom.
But you have to know when you make it. Oftentimes it be about what you could do for people or what people could get from you, or the benefit you given to somebody, you're giving to somebody else. Right? Those people are not your friends. With my camera right there.
Yeah.
Straight at it.
Them people that gave you that deal, them people that rock with you all of a sudden. Cause you got motion. Are not your friends. Don't even treat them like they're your friends. Cause when your numbers drop, when shit hit the fan, they not answering your phone calls or nothing. Then we got people like us that made it. When all that glamour, glitz and shit is over, they don't want me on no podcast. This community's not rocking with me no more because of whatever the case. And I can't get no money. And vendors ain't rocking with me. Who. Who's what's left, right? I still need my man.
Yo.
So, yo, yo, why did Nicks trade this dude?
Why?
Yo, why Tibeto playing these dudes so much? That's my love. That's my laughter.
That's your passion, my freedom.
That's like. That's the life that you get regardless how much money you got. Nobody.
That's what you getting. That's not what they're getting. You're getting the comfort because you got everything. They're not getting that. And the problem that what we understand is I'm not. I'm never. I would never tell nobody, leave nobody behind. So let's not get it twisted. Right?
Right.
That's not what I'm saying.
He's the last dude on the planet. We don't want to do that.
But I struggle with that because certain people, it get to a certain point and I'll be like, bro, he struggles with it.
Bro. Bro.
He struggles with it.
I got niggas in my life that I'm like, if you could just field calls. Yeah, you can make money off of me.
And you tried it and they fucked it up.
They can't do it. Yo, He's.
He's gonna.
Exactly.
Yo.
Yo, Charles. Every day he'll.
Yo. Every day I give.
He don't waste a human in his life.
Yo. Every person. I don't let niggas in because I love hard. I don't let it. Cause I love hard. Cause once you in, yeah, like I like I'm about to get some, some real, real shit. I say shit on camera every in my life that meant something to me. I called them and what did I say to you?
Yo, bro, it's gonna, it's about to pay off.
Yeah. And I said, no. What did I tell you though? What did I say? I'm about to get this money. And what you say?
You gonna take care of people?
He don't remember. I said, what do you want? I asked every last one of them, what do you want? So right now think about what it is you want. Because I want this amount of millions. I told them the exact amount of money. This is what I'm giving my dad and my mother.
That bad crazy.
Yo.
And this you don't comprehend. It's a ridiculous.
This is what I have left.
So let me ask you this.
What's up, Charles?
My number. If I caught a crazy bag and everybody noticed who watching? You know, the people you gonna call and have that convo with?
Of course.
It's four people in my life.
Okay, makes sense, right?
My college roommate, my man that I done went through everything with and two real close friends, right? We all know each other, all click up, click, family, whatever. How many people you had that conversation with?
About four. Four, four, maybe five.
Heineken. What's your number? And you know, it don't take long. What's your number?
It's only four. But the four people is very minimal. So it'd be whatever. Yeah, four is four.
What do you say?
Mean four minimal.
It's not minimal. No, no.
I' but what I'm saying, the issues would be like, it wouldn't take much to fix everything.
We both.
Oh, you're saying the money is minimal.
Yeah, but we both come from families where everyone is extremely self sufficient. We've been blessed that way. So a problem for one family member. Another problem would be 20 racks, 40 racks, everything's settled and they could go about their life.
Yeah, I told my father about this shit. He can't sleep.
Oh, he's hyped. He already spent the money in his head.
Yeah, it's gone.
Of course. And he's some too.
No, no, no.
You ain't spend wanted a new bag coming.
Nah, he. He been getting money just for a house.
I'm a move.
I still spend my bag before I get it mentally because that motivates Me.
I'mma be honest with you. Can I be honest with you? I don't have nothing that I want.
To buy me either.
I. I want to travel. I like to eat. What I like to do is I like to eat at expensive places. I like to drink out. You know what I'm saying? I like to. I like to be on the beach.
You don't be trying, like, the fruity.
No, that's like the drinks that look good. No, that's me.
Try everything. No, that's me. I drink my t. That champagne. No.
Y' all two can't be at a bar with the glass that's like this.
If I make dinner with a female.
I will have a martini with a burnt orange. That's me.
It might have an orange in it.
I'm talking about the burnt one.
Restaurants. Yeah. Chipolinis and all that. So I'm a champagne. I'm a champagne first. I'm a champagne first. That's all I drink, is champagne. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All I drink in life is champagne, water, and lemonade. That's it.
All right. Boom.
So if you don't have champagne, then I will go for martinis, lemon drop martinis, all types of.
Let me see how fancy this is. What about Prosecco?
Go. No, I ain't with pr. Okay, cool.
Well, he going. He got a bottle, right?
They don't have good martinis, cuz. You know what I'm saying? Then I'm. I'm just shots. I'm going for the tequila.
That's it. Okay, My just vodka, pina colada. If none of those two, I get pineapple juice.
Colada.
Y. I told you.
He's Caribbean.
Big ass with mar.
Got a.
Pineapple.
Eat the picture.
Eating the p. I mean, you know.
What I'm talking about?
Hell yeah. Y, bro, let me tell you.
With a fatigue outfit.
Yes, yes.
That match.
I'mma tell you.
You sit at the bar.
I swear.
Wait, wait.
Am I wrong?
Is that mismatch?
Yo, he no listen to me.
As long as you carry the fly, you good.
Listen, he's seen me get away with.
You. Why?
He don't disagree with anything you say.
Okay, cool, cool.
I thought it was. No, but if you hang around me, he's always said him and my pops are the only two that be like, I don't understand how your life lines up. Where good happens when the world is up. This is not so. I'm the type of. I'll eat the pineapple, sit at the bar, and two girls are going to come. It doesn't make sense. No, but it's gonna happen. It just works for me. But he agrees with you. It don't.
I'm a champagne. Yeah, I'm a champagne.
I'm also a rock with champagne for the most part.
But you were brown. You fuck with the brown.
I really just on some health, just trying to be healthy. I really try to just do like a champagne. Then my lady got me drinking Prosecco. Prosecco.
Salute to her.
That's why I brought the shit up. Hopefully I'll find some niggas that drink Prosecco.
We go to sweet chick. I'm gonna take you to Sweet Shit Chick one day.
Yeah, we going have to go to.
The one they got. They got the. They got the Queen of New York drink. It's. It's with strawberry puree. You'll with it. You'll with it. Yeah, you make you feel like that you in Miami, but try. I can't just drink straight Prosecco. It don't give me the same vibe.
There is no champagne. A little sparkling, whatever, but it ain't my thing. I'm just saying I'm hoping y' all related.
So. So what made you want to. To tackle the real estate world, man, When I.
When I first graduated college, when I was in college, two family members, I ain't gonna say who got you put my name on a house, and they made $48,000 off of it. I went to college right over the bridge, Caldwell University, right? So tax time. I had to come. I had to fill out the paperwork. So they like, yo, see, just go in the other room. You're done. And I'm like, what you mean, I'm done? I'm like, let me see what. What. What it looked like. But I, I. I'm a kid in college. I just got a basketball scholarship, just got out the city, and I'm like, let me. Let me take a look. Start seeing 48, 000. I was like, y' all got $48,000, and I'm struggling in college.
I'm broke.
They couldn't give no money. I'm getting laundry money, eating Chinese food. Which money for?
Ch.
We only want money for Chinese food. Anyway, half a pint of Smirnoff was right.
Right.
That's all you needed or whatever you drank. So I was. So I was hurt because I was like, yo, I'm struggling. I didn't really know what they asked me for my name in social for, but it was to buy a house through, like, fha. They got two houses on Hunts Point. Yeah, yeah. They did one in their name, One of mine. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I didn't know that they made the money. Money. So I'm like, hey, I gotta take my name off of that. Because. Because I'm not making no money. So I'm like, hey, I gotta take my name off of that one. So they took my name off. Then when I graduated, my man that I told you about, my roommate, I was like, yo, we gonna buy a house. Because if they made four, it was section eight money that came in. Probably $4,000 a month, right? Whatever. So I'm like, yo, if they did it, like, we could easily do it. So when I came home, I muscled up money. Houses was like, you need like 16,000. I muscled up 8,000. And my two friends as part of the four, they went four and four, and we got into real estate, and I got my first house.
So all three of y' all is.
In it back then? Yeah. So just like me, you, and Heineken, right? I'm a buy it because I just had the most money. Y' all gonna put four and four. Y' all gonna laugh at this.

So.
So this is 2001, 2001, 2002. We did a rooming house so the money could add up. The deal was all three of us are gonna go to the rooming house on Saturday morning and collect the rent. We charging $125 a door. We chopped it up so it was like four rooms up front upstairs and three downstairs.
For a physi, that's $10.50 a week.
And then we did the. The. And we put two in the basement. Oh, don't tell me you wouldn't do it either. You wouldn't put two people in the basement?
I'm Caribbean. That's standard.
It's a cool basement. Yeah, it's a cool basement.
I'm doing it.
Thank you.
I' ma move over this side.
So.
So that's how we was eating, Right?
So you making 250. So at 1300 a week, that y'. All.
That y' all popping out cash every week we go in there. Anybody got a problem? We young, wild, strong, out of college.
We gonna throw these niggas the fuck.
Out, storm out, Boom. My man, throw the mattress out. So we almost thinking like, you gotta set an example for the rest of the house.
Nah, you get the marshal, which I had to do that with hookers and strippers.
Three young black dudes calling a marshal on an illegal room in house.
What? Marshall, Listen, I did it in Bronx. Brownsville, Brooklyn.
This is 903 Home street in the Bronx. Right on the street. I've done the boulevard around the corner. It from Jew man.
No, I know. I. I did it in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
It.
It was a Marshall.
Yes.
It took a while.
It's an illegal rooming house.
Listen, they gonna do something about it. Trust me on that.
We wasn't waiting for no Marshall.
Right, I understand.
So. So we got him out. So we was just going back and forth with it over time. Then we got one for you. Then we got one for you. So now we kind of like coming up in the game. So now I own that house by myself. You own yours. By yourself. You own yours. So we kind of doing our thing. The market crashed. We all got a chance to sell our houses and make a lot of money. So $200,000. Houses were selling for 400,000. So we like bet cashed out. All came up.
How long did that take?
Maybe like two, three years.
Okay, go ahead.
And we was help. We still was going house time.
Y' all was making money, though, during the two, three years. Cause y' all was the room, house. How much was your mortgage? Cause you make it 1300amonth. So that's what, 4000.
How much?
You said?
As I remember, like 1600amonth on a $200,000 house.
Okay, so $1600, 1500. The $5200. So you propping $3600. Okay, go ahead.
22, 23 years old, out of college.
You're doing $3600 cash monthly. Cash monthly off of one house.
One house.
Okay, go ahead.
Killing it.
Killing it.
I ended up owning eight myself. My peoples had like three or four. Right? Killing it. We sold, we made our money. We took some losses, of course, but it got. It got. When it was the opportunity to sell, it was like, hey, let's let these. Let's let them go and cash out, right? It was our first time to make real money in our lives.
Got you.
So we sold, we cashed out, we took some losses. Some people just figured it out. It was. It was wild. It was wild because was one time they kind of ganged up on us where they was, like, ready for us to come right to collect.
And they was going like, we're not paying y'. All.
What's that scenario?
That's why I don't with it, but go ahead.
That's right. That's why it was kind of cool we got out, right?
Yeah, so.
So it was wild, like. But that bonds you with your homies because you like, yo, so somebody's shaking mace in your face. Another lady comes out with a knife, they surround like, it's just wild. That happens, right? And that's why I'm saying I can't. Like, these. These are. These dudes are my heart. I can't. I don't care how much money I get. I'm still trying to bring them with me.
But these ain't from the block invested in something that even if they not dreaming, they understand the dream. The on the block don't understand the dream. They're not giving you 4K. They're not. They're not. You're not coming to them with 16k. Yo, yo, right now, word to my mother, my in my hood right now, I come to them and say, Yo, I got 20k, right? I need five of y' all get 20k. We gonna go buy this. Nobody's coming with the money. No, no, Nobody's coming with the money. I'm lying. I'm lying. Cheeky is coming with the money. Even if my one man, Cheeky is going to be like, I got it. And if D boy had the money, he would give it to me today. Today. If they had it, my man Cheeky would give it to me, guaranteed.
I agree with you.
So do y' all not hear this? Yo, put me on. Yo, let me eat with you.
No, don't ask me.
No, no, they do. No, they. They just be like, all right, so a guy hit up Esso, right? He said, I have this book company, so my goal is for you to promo and do all of this and put me on. And he's like, so you want me to work for you and give you money and I don't get nothing, right? That's how they do it.
But they don't know me. But those aren't people. He's talking about people that know me.
They do listen to my music.
I don't have nobody that has come to me and said, yo, put me on.
Let me eat with you.
Because what we do is not something N off the street is doing.
If I was a rapper, then they.
Would be like, yeah, yo, put me on. Let me manage you. Let me roll with you. Whatever. They don't want to roll for this. They like what comes from it later on. Because people. Because when we were doing this, people was looking like, yo, bro, like, you went from music business to DJing, now you potting and all that. And I was like, yeah, my man, put me on. And we gonna figure it out. But it's not now. It's becoming sexy.
Yeah.
Follow what I'm saying. Yeah.
That's why I said about the real estate.
And sitting in front of a camera is a little weird by yourself. It's hard to do at first until you see the long term. Until you really see it. Because I'll just speak for all of us. None of us was like, camera dudes that would get in front of a camera. That shit wasn't cool back in the day. Would you agree?
Never. It was never cool to where we.
At least be like, yo, chill, chill. Take a picture where the nigga was like, go, come on, stop playing, bro. We gotta document this. Come on, bro. And be like.
We all from the same.
Jumping up to get on Instagram and YouTube and blah, blah. It's hard to do it. All right, cool. So look, we sold our cribs. I went corporate America, made a ton of money, got a brownstone, And I got two kids, two sons, 22 and 17. Regular New York City basketball player kids, right? No, no. Whiz kids, right. I was never, like, the smartest person. I was like a city basketball player, too. Coming up. So where'd you play ball at all?
Uptown.
A bunch of uptown school.
I played ball uptown, too.
Valley Park. Gun Hill.
What high school you went to?
I went to three, bro. I went to Mount St. Michael.
I got kicked out.
I went to Mount Vernon High School. I lived in the Bronx, though.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You up that side. Okay. Yeah.
And then I ended up graduating from Evander.
Oh, Evander Child. Yeah. I played at Randolph in Harlem on 135th in Convent. But I was from Queens, and I went to school, play with players. I was just curious.
I played in Roy Wilkins Park. Yeah, I think that's right by my Roy Wilkins, Jamaica. And like, Parson.
Not parson.
Jamaica.
Jamaica Park. I know. That's all my. That's all right.
That's what's. So you was nice.
Come on, man, stop playing.
Everybody say they nice.
No, no, no.
I'm not saying.
No, I'm not saying I'mma tell him, but nobody says.
Nobody. Nobody knew. Listen, you keep.
I Was.
Hold on, I'mma ask the question. You know who his backcourt was?
I just know the answer to the question. He ain't even answer.
He looked at it.
No, because he's not ready for it.
Listen to how he looked at me.
He said I was top 60 in the country. Yo, tell me who my backcourt was.
Rafer Austin and Shaheen Holloway.
That's what's up.
That was my bad coin.
I was starting with them and they all said. I've seen them all said, he's the best shooter out of all of us.
I would disagree.
40. Dwayne Woodward was on my team. Stymie.
Yo, they both coach at Seton hall right now, right?
Yep. No, Shaheen is the coach.
Shaheen's the head coach. 40 was supposed to be there. 40's in Rhode Island.
Yeah, okay. Oh, he went to Rhode Island.
He's in Rhode Island. And Rafer's coaching prep school and aau.
That's what's up either way. Giving back, dope position.
Yeah, but I still.
You look like a nigga that would.
Have played Gilly one on one. Yeah, when it was supposed to be today, but Gilly, he couldn't do it today.
That would be dope.
Yeah, we playing on camera. Me and Gilly playing on camera. One on one in Philly. Yo, I'm traveling to Gilly.
The best part, I remember when he. He's not a Hooper, but he ran Gary Vee out the gym.
Who?
He's like, bye, Gary. He's like, whops.
They don't play ball.
Yeah, but people that don't play ball.
Nah, it was like, they used to have open runs, so it would be. That would play ball. No, it would be people that play ball. But, I mean, it's Gary Vee's run, so he's playing. You know what I'm saying? Fucking Obama's playing. They act like Obama was crazy, but I know Obama was Ight.
You cooked them.
They let. No. Who? Gary B. Yeah. Yeah, we played in fucking.
It was Chicago All Star Weekend.
It was. No, it was because. No, no, See, the story wasn't. It's not as simple as that. Because it was like, back then, they would go to run and, like, would kind of like, leave me behind sometimes. So I'll be like, yo, Clue, why you playing? Oh, we playing with Gary. I'm like, yo, I can go play with Gary and them. You know what I'm saying? Now I know how I get, though, when I play, like, I don't know, a switch. That's Comes on, and I'll be like, you a dog. Yeah, like, like, like, like, like it. So we out there. So we out there playing this. And they had a girl out there.
And a girl, she lit.
The girl's lit now, but they put the girl on me.
So I said.
Disrespect to female basketball players, but that's disrespectful if you're a.
Dog, right or wrong. If you a dog, you see, and.
They put a girl on you if.
You Listen, let me tell you what I did the first play of the game. What you think I did the first play of the game? They put a girl on me. Where you think I went?
Right to the rack, right to the.
Bucket, dump it down, clear it out. Y' all want to play with me? I'm taking her to the rack.
As you supposed to wham.
To the rack. Wham. Oh, now y' all want to check up?
Switch up now.
Here come your clue like, yo. Clue like, yo, calm down.
Could you just put a disclaimer that.
No disrespect to female back to every dog that's disrespectful.
Says to me, hey, yo, Ran, why you down? Why you doing like this?
No, no, no, no.
They hit you with that?
No, no, he hit me with the Calm. Calm down, man. I'm like, all right, all right, all right. So now we run up and down the court. One catching. Flying through there. Catch a dunk. Boom. Catch a dunk. Right is popping. Calm down now. All right.
Wham.
Yo, what. What you say, Gary? Wham.
What you say?
Give me the rock. Get the fuck out of the way.
Flare it out.
Game over, right? You know how this pops in, rattles in. By the time the goes through, the net is out the gym.
You hit it with this.
I didn't say. Boss said, where y' all going? Where everybody go? He said, yo, bro, you said. And then the girl comes and challenges me one on one.
She's a big, like, she influencer in basketball.
The big influencer. So I could.
She hope at least, bro.
Bro, she's beat, right? Yeah, bro. So I took the board. I said. I said, what make you think that you could play me? Because you think I'm running off. Because I'm. I'm running off of picks with this.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cause don't know. You know what I'm saying? So I ain't even pull a handle out on. I ain't even go to the bucket yet on. They was. Take her to the bucket. Off the screen, jump Shot shout to Dylan. Dylan Lizier was there. Dylan was lighting him up. And Clue was shooting his. His. His deep three. But I was taking it personal that day with. Right, she gives me the ball. She tells the camera, turn the camera on. I said, what the. I said, why you.
Now like you was there?
No, he. He couldn't come because they was like, yo, do not ball. Don't come because it's not. You gotta play for per people. They were paying for it. So they was like, I say, han, if you come, you gotta have shorts and you got a hoop. You can't stand on the sideline.
No, no sidelines.
There was no sideline. Everybody's playing at the end of the Gary leaves. So when Gary leaves, everything kind of loosens up. Like, everybody's not trying to play. Cause they all want to shout out to Gary. They all want to impress Gary. You know what I'm saying? Gary leaves. So it lightens up. So she gives me the ball, tells the man to turn the camera on, bro. I looked around, I said, yo, you want to play me one on one?
What kind of content you think you going to get?
S. I'm nothing.
This video never came out.
She never sent me the video. She said, they came out. I said, oh, send me that video. Cause that's going. Oh, you know you not getting nothing when you eat on somebody else's sh. That would have blew me. Your nigga. And word to my mother, and I'mma end it here. I ain't even take her to the bucket not one time.
Yo, Charles, how about you?
What you doing with a little step back?
Little cross straight J City. Give me the ball. Yo, jab, step, jab. Yo, don't make. I'm telling you, if I go back.
You gotta step up, sis.
You gotta step up, up. You don't want to step up. It's cash. I'm not going to miss a little bit, huh?
Nicely moderately. Knowing the difference as you talking to me.
It got worse. It got worse. Let me tell you. I talk to everybody evenly. You on a basketball court, you a.
Ball player, and I'm a dog.
And this is.
I'm. I'm a dog.
I went to a rec league game, right?
Yeah.
So this one dude, right, he looks like the standard middle American dad. Out of shape, hairline gone like mine and everything. Tank top doesn't fit.
Tank top, baggy, baggy now. Baggy. No, no, tell the story. This is another game. This is we in the regular. A baggy tank top, old white man.
He looked like the Regular guy that would go to backyard wrestling, drinking beer years. This was on fire, bro. No, no, no. Like, I was like, okay, that's. Whatever, bro.
The was coming off the pick and highlight. He's not gonna hit that one. What?
Yo, Charles. So now they're down by seven points, right?
Was it? Is this what I hate? Tell me if you don't hate this. When a form is up and it's still going.
No, his form was tight. He was just making his shirt. It was three games in a row.
He left his shirt and just. But he's a Hooper.
No, no, no.
He's a. He's a horse. Go ahead. If he hit you with any of these J's. Yeah. I would be looking at you like, yo, bro, step that. Fuck the fuck up, bro. Yo, so you step up and he hit you in the head again. Pause.
And that's what he was doing. So now Esso is just coming down the court. He threw a. Like a full length pass right up the layup. And everyone's like, all right, we about to run him out the gym. He's like, if you try, close.
Yeah. Who said that?
He's saying that out loud. They just said it.
Give me the ball.
Give me the ball.
Like five, five in a row.
He fumbled the pass, picked it up.
Another one. Yeah. And I'm coming off the break, though. It ain't like staying the place. I'm getting the rebound, but stopping off the brick, yo. All right, another one. Oh, you wanna step up to the bucket. Another one. Heineken's like, this motherfucker's going crazy.
Crazy.
And that motherfucker still hitting them. Shit.
We down by two. The ball comes off the rim. My man grabs it. Nigga hits it out the way. Who picks it up? The nigga with the J.
One more gang.
Yo, game. Yo, Charles. It was three games in a row.
Yes.
We like. That's a good game.
Yeah.
And if you look, you'd be like.
Shoot like that, though. Yeah, I play with them. Okay, so he did catch fire.
He was on fire, but he has.
A feathery jump shot. Yeah, he hits way more than he misses, bro. Yeah, but this day, it was a movie. Went like 13 for 15. From three. Three. Yeah. In three games. And the game is seven, bro.
He talk.
Nah, he don't.
But he would be like. He would say, like, oh, no, I do this.
Yeah.
That's not an accident.
Because he.
When you look at him, you don't think he shoot like that.
That's a little. Like you said, you Pay attention to some.
Yeah.
I'm like, what?
I got him.
I got him.
They was throwing something.
It didn't matter who was on him.
Yo, bro, that matter.
It didn't matter cuz he's a Knicks fan. So you know. So that Knicks talk.
I'm an original real Knicks fan. Not these new because we winning a couple of games. I'm original Rod Strickland, Mark Jackson, Nick fan. Rod became my man because of that. You know what I'm saying? I'm original.
Do you think Mikel Bridges was a good pickup for the Knicks? I say yes, he say no.
Is he worth Hartenstein?
I say yes.
No.
Thank you.
No.
Yo, Charles, we hanging out. We hanging out. Cause you know basketball.
Yeah.
Only for. Here's my thing. You can't teach chemistry and you can't teach that effort.
Though Hartenstein gets.
He don't care. You listen.
He can hit threes and stop shooting them. Cause coach said so.
My thing is, right. You gotta do the dirty work. No, no. OG right. Great on defense. He can lock up from 1 to 5, 1 to 4, easy.
He went into goon mode too during he last year.
He went into goon mode.
Yeah.
And that's he.
That's his.
When OG came, he was the first.
He hit it. OG I was like, oh geez. I was like fifth Ferraris.
Yeah. In reverse. I'm like, I watch Mikel.
Yeah.
He can guard from one to three and he don't need the ball to get the points. So he don't get in the way of Randall and Brunson.
He's not blocking those shots.
Yo, yo, we going real estate. We going basketball. But I.
What you thinking, Charles?
I want to disrespect no NBA player because you know how nice they are.
None of them is nice.
All of them is nice.
I like the Knicks better without Julius Randall.
Come on, stop.
You're not the only person to say that.
You saw at first though. I don't agree. I thought so at first. Let me tell you, cuz.
You know when we need Randle in the playoffs.
That's his worst time. That's his worst career performance. It's the playoffs when he went 1 for 19, 2 for talking.
He agrees with this year.
Charles, help me understand.
What do we need?
Why you think Randall and playoffs come? Because when he went like two for the. Well, he had the worst playoff performance in history.
He's not a random fan. You not understanding he's not a random fan.
I'm not coming from the standpoint. He's Not a fan. Julius Randle. When I'm calling him, when I'm calling him, I'm calling him on the phone. And I said, this is when we gonna need Randall. When you start playing that bully ball. We don't got it. We need. Even if Random tweaked his ankle, Mitchell Robinson is due.

Please don't get Madison with ending this interview right now. He hate I like. All right. I like Robinson. I like this interview. So I'm not going to fuck with Mitchell Robinson. I'm not alone. All right, all right, all right.
But this is where I was talk about it, Charles. This where I was going with it.
Yeah. Okay.
Bridges is not a dog.
I don't. I don't agree.
I think he's a dog, but he's not the. He's not the.
He's not a one or a two. He's a three.
He's not a.
How I feel about this is what's up S Mikel Bridges. This is nice. Let's not get it up. Because I keep saying nice. Let's not get it certified. I just didn't think we needed him for the Knicks. He wanted DE Yo I. I wanted dejante. But at least let us see what it was going to be like with all our players. And Randall Randle was there. We was 11 and 1 regardless. See, what y' all are mistaken is OG relieved a lot of pressure. See, when we fought OG and he.
Cleaned up a lot.
Yeah.
It let Brunson and Randall do whatever the they wanted to do and it created more shots. And then you got Einstein coming. And he's not looking for shots. He's looking to pass and play D and then finish when need be. That opened up shock for everybody. Divincenzo to go crazy, correct Hart to go crazy. Now we got Bridges in there. It's not the same dynamic.
He don't need the ball, though.
That's why he should a fit.
Hold on. He is. He's just OG they're the same style.
I'm be honest. I Wanted as much as I didn't want DiVincenzo at first, you know, I want. The way DiVincenzo performed in the playoffs was G. And the season he proved to me I want him starting. I didn't want him coming.
I want him off the bench.
Brunson or Har, who you want to start?
No.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Okay. Without. I didn't want Bridges to come.
He did not want Bridges. I wanted Bridges.
I wanted to give DiVincenzo what he did with stepping his game up. I feel like starting position. Although we wasn't looking at him like that. We could have had our same lineup. Hart can come off the bench. Heart's. That was a. But he's a dog that you don't.
They ran that dude into the ground.
But you don't got to. But you don't got to warm him up like a car. Paul.
The minute play. Jesus. Jason Hart should be illegal.
Yes. Yeah, like typical. Now you gonna bench him?
Yo, what he gave. I'm not benching him.
You just said no.
No, I want him to come.
That's benching.
No, no, it's not. Because. Because peep game. Hart wasn't a starter when the season started either.
Neither was DiVincenzo.
Neither was DiVincenZo. Okay? Hart wasn't a.
People forgot that.
Hart was our six. I'm not discrediting them.
You know what I'm saying? It's better.
We need him to come up better than that. We need him to come out the best, you know, Like I would.
I would like to. I wouldn't mind that. If Tibbs did that, I'd be like.
Because Heart could start or. Yeah, he could come off the bench.
I'd rather him off the bench.
I'd rather him off the bench.
I've been watching Bridges for a long time. That's why I'm like, I've been watching.
What do you think he.
First of all, on defense, he's an animal. Second of all, he's been a 20 point scorer without dominating the ball. See, Ju, Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle, they gotta hold the ball. They gotta do what they do. You understand? So Bridges comes in, he's a three or four, because I think he OG body.
No. 4.
Huh? No, what I mean, option.
Okay, let's just say.
Let's put OG as the three. Oh, geez.
A dog.
Mikel Bridges as your fourth option, who's been a 20 point scorer and doesn't need the ball.
You know, it's three point field goal.
Percentage, it's like 38. He shoots every. Everything's water. He's just not a dominant scorer, so he don't get in the way.
I'm worried about the defensive end seed. That's his best part. But he can't play the position we lost. Which is what Hartenstein.
He can't, bro.
No, no.
And to speed it up, I'm not about to say.
And I'm going to help you. You know the Knicks, right now, they're in position to get the dude that signed with the Wizards, Valentunas. The reason why, and I'm going tell you why. Because the Knicks own the Wizards pick, okay? So if you gonna give it up, the. The pick only matters to the Wizards. I was the first one.
Mitchell Robinson is too doofy, yo. He killed. Don't do that a lot of times. Because, listen, y' all see, yo, see, when y', all, like. Y' all can't, like, forget about the game.
So how's the next game?
The game is this.
As a Knicks fan, I give grace to Knicks play.
No, don't, don't, don't. Don't come off the bench.
Did Embiid abuse him?
No, I know.
I know him. The out.
He gave Embiid the most problems.
Hold on. The most problems founding the out.
No, bro, listen, see, I'll take six.
I'll take Mitchell Robinson. I don't care where he. He is.
No he. No that match. See, this is what you're missing.
You need sex files.
I do.
I didn't start Mitch Robinson.
He's saying start. He saying instead of heart. I didn't know.
No, you not start Mitchell Robinson for the New York.
Yes. I'm telling you.
No, no, no, no, no. You going to see him, bro. All right, but y getting this, though.
Now you're understanding the conversation.
You're not starting. You throwing him in.
Get him, get him.
Thank him. Get him.
Not paying attention, but thank you.
Oh, no, I didn't say if you thought. I said start Mitchell Robinson.
Robinson. I'm cutting this interview off.
I said I like him. He tweaked his ankle. It could have helped us.
It would have helped us. Now he has to start now.
You know what I'm saying?
Bro, bro, bro. Let me say this. He's not even a Knick fan. He's a LeBron fan. Not a Laker fan. Wherever LeBron goes, he becomes a fan of that team. He's the LeBron.
See, that's the thing, too, with sports now that players move so much. It's Hard to be a team fan when players move like that. It's a little hard.
It's hard to be loyal. You saying loyalty is thin out here in this world?
Long term.
In sports, yeah. In sports it is in the world.
Sports is a microcosm of the world. Sports is a microcosm of the world.
Yes.
Brady. Fans fucked with Brady at Tampa and they liked him. But they never left the Patriots. They still stayed and said, we're gonna root for you, Brady. But we're still wearing the Patriots jersey.
You know why that is? Football has always been about the team more than the player, the history, everything. And the NBA has been player more than the team.
It's an excuse to be a LeBron fan.
No, it's just a fact.
Knicks fans are die hard. Knicks fans are die hard and loyal.
Yeah, yeah. Us originals, first of all, not the.
New age last year.
They made it hard to be that loyal. There were some years where they made it hard.
The Patriots made it hard for motherfuckers to be loyal. Motherfuckers stuck with them until they started winning. The Patriots was trash until they started winning, dog. Dawg, the Patriots were.
Dude, football is different.
Nuh.
Football is different.
The Bulls was shit until Michael Jordan came. They was doo doo.
No, but football is different.
Football is ingrained experience.
You gonna get twisted in the parking lot before or you go through the weather, the elements, everything. It's a whole experience. It's not so much.
It's okay to be doodle in football for a while and get fans. Is that what you said in football?
Yeah, because look, look, look. We gonna go get twisted in the parking lot, right? We gonna wild out at the games. We gonna heckle. It's gonna be fun. Like, we. Whether they win or lose, we still gonna be like, yo, that game was crazy, right?
Yeah. I'm gonna let y' all say y'. All. I'm see what I'm gonna say after.
When the Knicks lose, we gonna be angry. We gonna sit in our seats at the Garden. We gonna be mad. It's not the whole, like, football experience.
But for white people it is. Because they go to dinner. Yes, they go to dinner, they get wasted, then they come to the game. Black people's like, yo, we got tickets to the game. Hey, yo, you know, drinks is expensive, so try to sneak a little bottle in there. How about this weed before you walk in?
But football's, out of all the four major sports, is the only sport where a team could be shitty one year and they're good the next yeah, football, you can be.
Basketball takes a while.
It's. It's faster. Because think about NBA. Now is a little different. But we came up in that era, remember when a team became officially bad, they would be bad for a long time.
Yeah.
It would be like, once a team became bad, they're bad for a long time. Long time.
I agree.
Now it's a little different with free agency and so many players are good. And then offense is more predicated. A team can. It'll take about three or four. Like he was the first to say years ago, young dudes are taking over the NBA. Remember you. Only older players would be able to kill. He'd be like, look at Atlanta Hawks. They gonna. They gonna show. It's all young dudes.
Now the Clippers, I think when they had. When they had Quentin, they had D. Miles. D. Miles. They was a young team. They had odom, Odom, Corey McGetty.
It was too much drugs in LA at that time.
No, but that was an idea of a good young team early on in the NBA that started beating up on the old heads.
Yeah, but they just didn't know how to win now. Yeah, like, now young players are taught how to win. Just like how quarterbacks. Now all college teams run NFL systems, so.
Yeah, remember NFL systems running college, sister.
I mean, but the transition of a young quarterback is. Yeah. Remember before it'd be like, it's gonna take four years. You gotta wait. And it would be an anomaly if a quarterback was good within his first two years. Now it's like, throw him in there.
Because we've been to a point, we were over our question, so we can overhaul.
Yeah, no real estate.
Because. Because the whole thing about it is people are tuning in on our platform to see who you are. Yeah, they'll be more inclined that you know about basketball. You have real estate to then go see your show. Because I'm gonna keep it real. The finance people in real estate, they'll be like, yo, when you trade and you got to do the trades and the trade. Trade niggas is like, man, who the fuck does this nigga? They not relatable at all. You know what I'm saying? So.
Nah, I get it.
I feel like that people kind of use. Use these platforms the wrong way. They're trying to sell themselves on people seeing them one time, okay, you get 150,000 hits, right? 15,000 of those people are going to understand what you're saying. 2000 of them might go check you out. 200 of them might follow you. You Know what I'm saying? So it's better to attempt. To me, this is what has worked for me.
Yeah.
Letting people see who I am. And the other things that I know, besides preaching to them, them everything I know about the music business. Yeah, exactly. You know what I'm saying? But as far as the real estate game, if I'm young and I want to get into the game, what would you tell me? What would be my first? Not the whole, what's my first step?
Buy your course?
No.
Learn development.
Development of what?
Learn how to build a house early. You don't gotta touch anything thing. Development is the highest level in real estate. Right. As a developer. And we could actually kind of skip it. Skip through my whole real estate journey. I could teach my sons, which I'm teaching them now. They watching what I'm doing step by step. The re the real bag in real estate is development, is building a house. And that's why I said at the beginning, Yes, I remember somebody going, flex.
I got.
I bought my $2,000 mansion. The person built it, only spent 800,000. And this is why I teach. This is why I do like webinars. I got a community where I just teach people. I've never ever seen people that are building houses in our neighborhood say, hey, let me show you how this works. Never. They come in, they build it. They don't speak to us.
Us.
They put the for sale sign. They sell it to us if we could afford it. If we can't, they sell it. To who? Whoever can afford it. The secret to real estate is development. That's where the money is. I'm gonna expand a little bit more. Yeah, I went to Martha's Vineyard for black excellence week two weeks ago, right. Everybody buys these small gingerbread houses. They worth $2 million. They are 1200 square feet.
I know. They little as fuck.
1200 square feet. The cost of that at Home Depot, right, is $90,000 to build the whole house. Because they're in Martha's Vineyard, they sell for 2 million. The developer still just built the house for $90,000. In the hood, that same house goes for 350. The developers still the Home Depot price, still $90,000. I've been through do landlord tenant wars. You're just not gonna win, right? Because the landlord, the landlords don't win, bro.
That's in New York though, down south, it's pro landlord.
Yes. There are tenants landlord friendly state, because.
New York don't want homeless people. So it's always going to be pro tenant. You Know that.
But I, I, that's not so I'm this show, but we've just been keeping it funky.
No, go for it.
White people don't be in those landlord tenant shootouts and stabbings and stuff. For the most part, it be us. We, we really. Our learning of real estate is more so like the flip. Like buy a, buy a vacant house fix and flip it fast money and then. Right. And then make some money.
Fast money kings.
Yeah, go ahead.
Yes.
Even the thought of fast money gets them more excited than the actual work.
Yeah.
And I got a theory on that too. I'm not mad because we've been down for so long. So to get some money and spend it or to jump on something fast, I ain't mad at that. I've been dead broke before.
Right.
So I get it. If somebody offered me 12 grand and.
You fucked up, you need it, you going for it.
You going for it. If somebody say 12 grand now, and this be on the Internet too, 12 grand now, or like, you know, $400 for the next 18 years.
Right.
They just be making the wrong decision all the time. But I get it right? You never had, somebody never had 12 grand before. So you take it. But the reality of it is like development is. And if I could bring this to our people, Development, be rich, white friends together, putting money going to a bad city or a disinvested city.
Detroit.
Detroit. I got a lot of property in Detroit too. I'm Birmingham, Alabama, like, right. They build up the city, they get money from the city, they build it up. They charge crazy rent, whatever, and they sell. They don't hold these properties, the super rich people, who do we. And there's another thing too. We don't have a black face of real estate development. We just don't. We don't know who to look for development. We don't know how. But the reality of it is it's so easy.
I think a couple of reasons of that. When they see black people in this space, they just feel like they're there to grift more so than to really put on for the community. They feel like they're in there to get the money grabbed.
Cause n be doing that.
Yeah. So now when bad things happen in the real estate world, the financial world, all we seeing is so many financial individuals and you're like, this guy's a fraud. This guy's fleecing people.
I'm gonna tell you why. The real black people that's developing, they not turning around and saying, yo, I'm going to show you how to build. Take this workbook and show you the 10 steps, right? This is where you go to buy land. I'd be showing people where to go buy land for 5, $800, right? This is how you develop it. This is how you put a house there. It's super simple. It's even easier and safer than doing a fix and flip. The contractors get paid after they do their section of work. So they put the foundation, it gets inspected and approved, passed. And then you pay the framing. It gotta get inspected, approved and passed. My contractors. No, you're not getting no money until I get the green ticket saying the city inspector passed it, then I'll pay. It's super easy and simple. When you're dealing with the contractors in the hood trying to do stuff, that's where we get ripped off.
Are you just an individual who looked at the real estate game differently and found an outlook on it? To give an example, let's take it back to basketball. We had David Thompson, we had Julius Irvin. But the way Michael Jordan played basketball, that wasn't what a shooting guard was supposed to play. Now, that's the standard. Are you. The way you're looking at it, Are you the introduction of Michael Jordan looking at it? Because how you're saying it, people don't say that. They always say, fix and flip. That's the number one, especially for our culture. But you're like, that ain't the play. This is the play.
That's not the play. How many fights we have with contractors? Everybody. As soon as you think contractor, you think shitty.
Yes, it's a problem.
Right or wrong, they don't finish, they rob, they run with it. You think we doing it wrong, right? So I had the luxury to be around rich people in real estate. And then I grew up and came up with poor people. The poor people are buying the houses a little bit under what they value. Think they gonna fix it, renovate it, paint it, whatever, and then upcharge it. And then upcharge it and then make.
More money by beating the next motherfucker over here.
It's just what we know. It's nothing. That's what I'm saying. It's what we. I'm not mad at it. It's what we know. But we don't know. A whole bunch of people got rich doing that.
I know it can't be that hard because my mother built a house in Virginia when they retired and they left, she built it. She went to the architect, helped them design it, told them what they Wanted how she wanted it.
She built the foundation. Your mother's not a regular human too though, so you have to. Your family's not regular people, man.
But. But I definitely wouldn't say that they're regular people. But my thing is if she wanted it. You feel what I'm saying?
Determination.
She wanted to do it. She wants. She had something in her mind. I wanted a green house, a pale green house. I want a red door. I want red toilet seats. Every. I want gold knobs on my shit.
And it was fun for her too.
And she enjoyed it. But it was cheaper. It was definitely cheaper.
She trying to tell me.
And we didn't know that. And they bought a townhouse in Virginia that they call themselves renting out until I graduated from school. They it up. It was a tenant problem. Yeah, it ran it up. Then you had the. With the townhouse. Do you got to pay to. What's. What's the other money?
You paid hoa?
Yeah, you gotta pay. No, not hoa. Is that the monthly that you gotta pay?
Yeah, you gotta pay the month association.
Oh yeah. To clean. So you gotta pay the homo. You gotta pay the monthly on top of your mortgage. They was like. My mom was like, this don't make no sense. They built a 500, $600,000 house for 270 grand, including the land. And it was on a pond.
Because. So I be. I teach people how to develop and it's. I got it into like a simple workbook and I teach people how to develop and I. I take like hundreds of people to the auction with me and they buy their properties themselves and then I show them like the simple steps of development.
The container home, is that here to stay or is that a trend?
I don't know. It has its place. So just like you said, Mitchell, Middle America got a place on the Knicks. But he ain't making us win no chip.
Yes.
So on some bougie shit, right? I bench.
He could help us win a chip.
He could help us. I'm gonna tell you where container homes were.
Work.
I went to Governor's island glamping last weekend.
That's a container home spot.
Yeah, they got the tents. Then they got a couple of little container homes. But they $900 a night for the container, the tent and a container home.
So hand over fist on that.
Yeah, I mean, it's, It's.
The container home is cheap. My man is part of this. Super cheap. They make it handle.
You got a decent bathroom room and you overlook like the city because it's right on Governor's island, which a little ferry right across. So they give you Prosecco.
This the bougie he talking about. How bougie we gonna go about. He said glamping this nigga.
I tried it.
This don't knock it.
Don't knock it until you try it.
I'm not mad, but the terminology is that I went glamping like I fucked with this.
No, I'm in real estate, so I had to.
My sk. Let me.
Let me explain it to Heineken. Let me clean it up.
The Heineken like the mar glass. Let me cop a plea. No, no, no.
Let me cop a plea. Let me cop a plea. Let me cop a plea. I'm in real estate, so I had to try it. I had to try.
I had to try.
Let me ask you this question, cuz.
I wouldn't be able to answer that if I didn't.
No, no, no, no. We. Everybody knows who's considered the top in each position. But in terms of basketball, who would be your favorite at point guard? Favorite point guard, all time. Favorite shooting guard. You know, not the best, but just who you like at each position as your favorite.
Y' all up on this? Kevin Johnson.
Cage.
Beast.
Who's your true guard? Beast? It gotta be Jordan.
Okay.
Who's your. Who's your powerful?
My powerful? I gotta go with Timmy D. He's super. He get the job done. Bust everybody ass. Bust everybody ass.
But. But you gonna put him at the small.
You said powerful.
Oh, I said powerful. Who's the small?
Interesting. This is a tricky one.
Where does Dominique fall?
You like Dominique?
I was a huge Dominique fan. I'm a nut.
Is he top five or what? Smooth forward forward.
Classify him as a small forward. Yeah, that's my small forward. Okay, Beast mode.
Who's your center?
Who's your center?
We not skipping over Dom. Beast mode. Damn it. On anybody.
We know that.
Shaq.
Hold on. Which one. There's two Shaq Shaqs. Orlando Magic, Shack or the Lakers Shack?
I'm taking both.
Orlando Magic Shack is something out people don't really.
But that wasn't winning Shack.
Every team in the NBA game planned against Shaquille O'.
Neal. I'm not mad at your squad. Won three titles in a row and three MVPs. I'm taking.
I like Orlando Shacks.
You like Orlando Shaq because that Shaq.
Would get the rebound and go coast to coast and dirt.
He was different, But.
But Lakers. Shaq was smaller. He. I mean, smarter. He knew he had to preserve yeah, yeah, yeah, he did.
The homies would say he couldn't hit a free throw in the playoffs, though.
He always hit him when they count, though.
That's all that matters.
He's never missed a big free throw, though.
Can I get one more? Runner up. Player go up.
D. Rob David.
Rob David Robinson.
David Robinson.
Put that thing on the floor. Put that thing on the floor.
Not over Akima Dream on the floor. Not over Akeem the Dreams. No way.
David Robinson or Patrick Hewing.
I love Big Pat, but no, you.
Know why I'm not with Big Pat.
One the Finger roll. The Finger roll, everybody.
Super.
Thanks.
