Short spoken advice for DTC (direct-to-consumer) brands during a market downturn: prioritize profitability, ensure product quality (ads and website cannot save a poor product), distinguish needs vs. nice-to-haves when allocating resources and channel prioritization, and pursue continual incremental improvements in ecommerce to reduce costs and eke out extra revenue.

That's why profitability is the thing that people are focused on right now because there's also just not a lot of money out there being thrown at D2C brands in A, in a market downturn. So I think that like the advice that I can give to brands number one is don't fool yourself about the quality of your product. Doesn't matter how much you spend on ads or how great your website is, if your product sucks, you're not going to, you're not going to make it. And then I think the second thing I would say is just like try to have a better understanding of what's a nice to have versus a need to have in terms of how you're allocating resources, how you think about prioritization of different channels to grow your business. And then specifically within ecommerce, you need to just continue to find ways to make incremental improvements because if you can make a couple more dollars and save a couple more dollars every single day, you'll still be alive.
