Hi, I'm Charlotte Kemp, and welcome to this presentation of how to find your speaking sweet spot. I am a professional speaker. I've been speaking and training for over 15 years, and this is the kind of content I wish I had earlier in my speaking career. It helps to clarify some of those questions that we mull over, or sometimes that we get tripped up by in terms of actually defining what it is that we do and how we do it. I am at the moment the President of the Global Speakers Federation. This is a body to which our local, national, and regional associations around the world belong to in order to create some collaboration and support around the speaking profession, literally around the world. And I'm past President of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa. So in my many years of speaking and connecting with speakers around the world, these are some of the questions that we need to have clarified if we would like to make some progress in our speaking. One of the best pieces of advice I've ever received about speaking, which I'm going to give to you right now, is beware of all advice, even this, because when it comes to the speaking world, how we create our own speaking businesses, how we communicate our content and our value to our clients and audiences is really going to be unique. There is no neat formula about exactly how to do it. We need to be able to experiment and explore a a few things. So as I unpack this content for you, think about how you've seen it in evidence in other speakers' work, how you have done some of these things in the past, how do you feel about certain of these definitions or distinctions, and how can you use them or experiment with them in the future to get closer to that place where your speaking feels like the most important, valuable, exciting part of your life.
