Three strategic recommendations for navigating macro-trends: articulate your core values (Ben & Jerry's shows how companies face value conflicts with their host nations), understand stakeholder psychographics beyond demographics, and develop futures literacy to anticipate emerging possibilities.

This particular presentation we're looking at is about an hour long. We're looking at just those 2 trends. We've looked at those 4 scenarios. There are 5 recommendations broadly that come out of what we see with these scenarios in terms of what they could imply for your workplace or for your project or products. We're going to look at just 3 of them very briefly. The first one is possibly unusual or unexpected, but we need to get clear on our values. We individually need to be very clear on our values and, and how and where we will work or who we will work with. We also need to know the organization we're working with, what are their values, and we, we need to get— I, I know that there were times in history, but I, I wasn't alive in those other times. I think now is, is one of the most important times that we are very clear on what our values are, because we're living in a political and global climate where there are very loud voices and very, very contrary points of view. If you are not clear on your values, if you're trying to kind of just sit in the middle there, you're going to fall off one way or another, or you're going to get attacked from both sides. It's a polarized world. They don't want you sitting in the middle, but you need to know what your values are and what you will put up with. And companies like, for example, Ben Jerry's, who have a certain set of values but are based in the United States where the government has a different set of values, they have to know how they're going to operate. And there are and will continue to experience repercussions of those choices that they have. So values are really seriously important. The next one we need to know is psychographics, and then we need to develop futures literacy.
