Your life is like a reflection or a painting in a museum, because everything you've experienced is on display in that museum. But every day of your life, you see the painting from a different perspective. And I'm going to tell you something that you'll understand very well. You remember your childhood differently at each stage of your life. You understood your childhood in one way, when you were 20, maybe in your 30s, maybe now. And it's the same period of your life. But that period takes on meaning according to where you are right now. Your life is what you have in front of you at this moment. That way of perceiving it is an inspiration that only exists for a moment in your life. So that's why I like people to take action and not put it off until later. Imagine this. What would you have written before the pandemic? What would you have written during the pandemic? And what would you write today so that you understand how what moves you is also moving, Right? So when you understand dynamics, it's super beautiful because you learn to see this moment that you have in front of you as that moment that will never happen again, not even through you. So write it down, leave it. As one of our authors said, it's a snapshot of this moment in your life. A book is something that leaves a mark of who you are today. And it's really beautiful to see it that way, right? So I want to make it clear to you that your dreams matter. I mean, you're not late to write a book, but don't take too long either, because it only lasts a moment. I mean, what inspires you today in two years? Who knows, right? So take advantage of what catches your attention today. So your dreams matter. And it's the commitments that you make to yourself that transform your life. And look at this question. Take it with you forever. Write it down. Take a screenshot of it. Who are you when no one is watching? Because I'm going to give you a lot of advice, but you're the one who's going to put it into practice. So what do you really put into practice? Who are you by fulfilling the commitments of the life you want? Why do you want to write a book? And I say why and not why for a very important reason. But why do you want to write? So I'm going to tell you how I see the role of a book in your life. It can have any objective you want. It can be so that people understand better what you do. To teach someone else something, to leave a legacy. My mother is taking the course that I teach for authors, because she realized that her nephews who live in Canada, my siblings, children, I mean, excuse me, her grandchildren, my nephews didn't know the family stories. For her, writing her book is a legacy. Maybe someone wants to heal a part of their history and writes it as a therapeutic act. Someone just wants to have fun, someone just wants to entertain, wants to write fantasy. No, it doesn't matter what objective you give to your book. Just remember that when you build a dream. I tell all my students this. Want everything you want, but want it for the right reason. Don't pursue goals that will keep you up at night or drain your energy. Instead, build a path that you love. Because if your book is meant to, gosh, inspire, if your book is meant to teach, if your book is meant to make someone's life better, you're going to feel that every day that you sit down to write. So imagine for a moment, close your eyes. Imagine for a moment what you're going to feel the day that your book is published by you. Close your eyes for a moment, and when you do, tell me in the chat what word describes what you feel when you see that book that you're going to teach, that you're going to inspire, that you're going to help someone else with, that you're going to have a lot of fun with, that you're going to sit down to write about every day, What word do you feel? Fulfillment, Pride, wow. In life? Pride, Happiness. I want you to write this down too. Because realization of these things, Marich, Carmen, Blanca, Ariadna, are not only experienced at the end of the road. Just now you imagined the COVID of your book. And it is a very special moment for all those who have already written a book. It is one of the best moments of your life, I tell you right now. But you do not have to postpone it until that point. The emotion you feel when you have already fulfilled that dream. Because then that word will accompany you every day that you sit down to write. What can you do so that each day you feel excitement, pride, gratitude, fulfillment, joy. This is something that is practiced. You cannot wait until you get to the end of your book. If for you, sitting down each day was a frustration, Practice the emotions of the life you want. Practice everything you want. Because look, sometimes we say we want one thing and do another, right? When I turned 50 last year, two years ago. Fanfare, please. I decided to do something super bold and daring, which was to celebrate with a big inspirational party. I wanted to show myself and everyone I Love that if I could build this dream. All the dreams you have in your life have a path. And that was to bring the author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert, to Mexico. Right. So I'll tell you about that dream in another session, how I was able to build it. But what I can tell you is that one of the most powerful things she told us on that stage is that when she wanted to be a writer, she said she wanted to write books. She said that was one of her big dreams. And she had a mentor. So the mentor said, well, what did you do on Friday? No. Well, on Fridays I'm a waitress. So I go out really late, and then I go out partying. Well, what did you do on Saturday? It's not like Saturday is the day we go out for a walk. Okay, so what did you do on Sunday? Anyway? There was no time in her schedule for her book, so that mentor gave her a very strong sentence. But pay close attention to the goal she has. What are you willing to give up to create the life you keep saying you want? Because you keep saying you want to write, but there is no time in your life for writing. So what are you willing to give up? That party, that Netflix. That what? To make room for the life you keep saying you want. So this question shakes you, but at the same time, it leads you to be consistent. Right? So what are you willing to give up to have the life you want? It means that you are willing, by being here, to take note of what your book needs. And we will start now with the first exercise, if that sounds good to you. Right. So what does it take to write a book one time in your schedule? Time in your schedule. Okay. That is the first thing a dream needs from you two. You need presence. It's not just about blocking out an hour. It's about actually using that hour to advance your book. You need. Thanks, Andra. Support and guidance. It's very important to write. It's an individual act, but it doesn't have to be a solitary act. So having support, having guidance in those moments when you're uninspired and want to throw in the towel is vital, because that's precisely where the little things come in. What happened? Rephrase. Tomorrow I'm going to teach you a formula that's going to change your life. Because these questions, these fears are going to come to you throughout the entire time you're writing. And I want you to have a tool that's going to transform not only the way you write, but the way you live your life. Your book also needs these two things. It needs the reasons you just gave me. Why do you want to write? You need to be clear about that, because sometimes there are distractions. Let's go on a trip or I had an accident or whatever comes into your life, it's inevitable. I mean, you can't control those things, but you can have a plan, which is what we're going to do in Class 5. A distraction proof plan, so that those reasons continue to guide you. And if you suddenly get off track, you can get back on track. And that's what I call flexible stubbornness. Have the stubbornness to build your dreams, but the flexibility to keep making adjustments along the way. So life will continue to present itself to you, but you can have a way of adapting and continuing and getting back on track with the dreams that are important to you. Beyond the book is who you become in the process of writing. You are a different person when you give yourself the gift of creating. Creation transforms you. So when you give your book that opportunity, then it's super important to take advantage of all the tools there are so that that book can exist. Yeah.
