A brief podcast conversation where two speakers map out practical steps for launching a food product (examples: cookies). They discuss ideation, simultaneous recipe development and operations/sourcing, finding a manufacturer and storage (warehouse vs. home/studio), building a website, and note packaging as an unexpectedly long delay that held up their launch.
I think idea first and then nailing.
Idea being like, in this case, what are you doing? Cookie? Yeah, right.
Yeah. Like, what are you doing? What is your idea then? I would say developing the recipe, then dealing with operations. Well, operations and recipes. Kind of like hand to hand, because, like, you know, you're sourcing the ingredients as well. So it's kind of like the same step, in a way. And then finding a manufacturer and then finding, I guess parallelly again, like a warehouse, or if you're going to do it in your apartment or, you know, you're going to get a studio and do it. And then.
To store it.
Yeah, to store it. And then you need a website developer to create a website. And then I think you can then launch. But there's more to it because you need to. The packaging takes so long and, like, that's what delayed us the most. And it's like things you don't think about because they always tell you, like, things are going to go wrong, but then it's your case and you're like, oof.
