So I worked at one of the largest hedge funds in the world and what they did was they had 25 year CIA and FPA veterans come in to train us to tell if somebody is lying or misleading. At least two of the four tips have to be there for you to maybe think they could be lying. Tip number one, to tell if somebody is lying, if they break eye contact a lot when they're answering a question, a certain specific question. Tip number two, if they touch their face when they're answering a question, they could be lying. Tip number three, if they ramble on and on and on like I am today, then they could be lying. And you see this with children especially. And the last way to tell somebody is lying or misleading you in an informational interview or any aspect of life is if they start shaking their foot or their hand a bit, unless they had too much caffeine, which is certainly the case with me today. They trained us this way to tell if someone's lying in case a CEO was misleading us.
