Copy/Paste Post #4 - Cool for Joe, a Crime for Don?

Chris Webb compares Biden's threat to withhold Ukraine aid over a prosecutor tied to Hunter Biden with Trump's attempt to withhold $400 million for damaging information on Biden. He argues both actions warrant impeachment and calls out media for treating one as acceptable and the other as criminal.

We got another good one for you. So it's apparently cool for us to bypass looking at how former President Biden threatened to withhold provision funds from the president of Ukraine, but it's impeachable for Donald Trump to inquire about it. There's a lot to unpack there in terms of the words chosen, insinuating that the other side is doing something cool, hip, and trendy, and using that as a basis to support or not support something. It's drawing on an emotion. Or saying, hey, on this side, he's just inquiring, he's just asking, what's the harm? Right? Well, guess what? We're going to hold both accountable, and here's how we're going to do it. We're going to start with holding the author accountable. So, you try to take 2 entirely different situations and clump them together in one sentence. That forces the reader to want to choose either one or the other, and it perpetuates this mass media problem of feeding on emotions and getting us to say us versus them and they and this and that. And I'm gonna come at it quite differently than that. If we wanted to look at each situation, you're gonna need more than a sentence, more than a paragraph, more than a 5-page essay. Essay, eh, can't talk. You're gonna need to understand a lot of context in terms of Hunter Biden and what he was doing on the board of that energy company, Why were they being prosecuted? And why was the former president saying, hey, if you don't fire that prosecutor, Mr. President of Ukraine, we're just not going to be able to give you that billion dollars, you know, in provisions and funds that we would otherwise. So not only did this happen, but then he had the ego To go on live TV and talk about it in front of us, the voters, the nation. Hmm. Integrity down. He hasn't maybe heard of something called quid pro quo, or you know if he worked at a job that showed him this required type of HR training, he wasn't clearly paying attention, and he had it on five times the speed, right? So it's basically Biden saying, hey, if you do this thing for me, you'll get the provisions like you're supposed to, but if you don't, I'm just going to withhold this. So I don't think it's appropriate to be taking provisions for a country and something involving U.S. and foreign policy and making it about a personal venture. Nepotism? I think so, Mr. Former President Biden, and you've lost my respect, that's for sure. Well, let's flip the page, shall we? Mr. Donald Trump, he just inquired, did he? Hmm. So then how is it an inquiry was just going to the president of Ukraine and saying, actually, you know what, There's $400 million in military provision aid that, uh, we're not gonna give you if you don't give me the dirt on Mr. Biden. Give me everything I can to use it against him. That's the same flippin' thing. That's quid pro quo. That is turning what should be about proper policy between 2 countries, about us the people, the voters, the Ukrainians, The Americans, not the voters, the people of these countries. These policies should be about us. Should have nothing to do with their egos and their little petty war against one another and playing that political game and trying to play us like a fiddle. Well, we are not going to be played. We don't buy into that malarkey. Not going to stand for it. Don't want any part of it. They're both quid pro quoing. And they both have lost integrity. They've lost respect, and they've turned this position— the free leader of the country, some say the world based on our power. I think there's ego behind that statement. I just don't like it. But you've got this massive position. To me, I always think it should be an honor. It should be a privilege. It should be something that keeps you up at night wondering if I'm doing everything I can to get policies passed that help the people. That's what you're there for. But what happens? You have too much power and the ego, and all of a sudden we're pushing personal vendettas and things that matter to us and not putting us, the people, first. I don't like either of them for it. They can both take a long walk And take a shortfall. That's how I feel about it. I'm fired up. So to me, it's pretty simple. Get rid of that. Mr. Author, don't try to tell me one and then pick a side or the other as if your team is better than my team. I'm not on that team, and I can look at it objectively and say both teams suck in terms of who's representing them in those moments and how they represented themselves as the President of the United States. Both put personal, egotistical measures ahead of what matters most— us leading a country. Sense of service, a sense of pride, just out the window for our selfish needs. Biden, Trump, do better. You both are letting we the people of the U.S. down. We deserve better. We don't deserve 2 people that perpetuate what the mass media is already trying to feed on based on emotions and ambiguous statements and tie-ins, pitting people against one another instead of having healthy discourse, healthy debates, and actually talking about what's wrong with the systems. Why are these things happening? I don't know about you, I'm tired of that sort of back and forth, and I can see this clearly for what it is. We the people deserve better than this two-party doom loop that each of these people have represented in these particular acts. And if you wanna really draw a line as far as what impeachment and what is impeachable, high crimes including misdemeanors. So rightfully, charges for both could have been brought up for impeachment based on quid pro quo and them Using power and influence for personal gain. Mm-mm-mm. You both have a meeting with the HR director, and they say you both suck. Anyway, until next time.
