Who Will You Be in 12 Months?

Chris Prefontaine argues that people underestimate what twelve months of obsessive commitment can achieve. He says most quit too early because they mismanage expectations, but daily actions compound. Surrounding yourself with high-performing peers at events like 3 Paydays Live reshapes your thinking and trajectory.

I invite you to imagine your life 1 year from today. Not 5 years, not 10, 1 year. So think about where you are right now first. Your business, your finances, like all avenues, your confidence, your habits, your disciplines, everything. Then ask yourself this: what could happen in the next 12 months if I I was completely committed. Notice I didn't say interested. I didn't say committed. I said completely committed, like obsessed, completely committed, laser focused. Because here's what I've learned: people dramatically overestimate what they can do. In a week or 2 or a month and massively underestimate what they can do in a year. I see it like in our community nonstop. Think about it. One year steady of showing up, one year steady of accountability, one year steady of coaches, one year steady of consistency, one year of difficulty, one year of difficult conversations specifically, one year of refusing to quit. I could keep going, but those things Inside of a year stacked up one after the other constantly, they can completely change your trajectory when you're working with us. Now I've watched it happen over and over again. Here you go, ready? Somebody comes into our community a little uncertain, normal, a little nervous, normal, full of questions, completely normal, but 12 months later, sometimes 12 days, sometimes 3 months, but let's stick with the 12-month theme here for a minute because everybody's gonna go at their pace. 12 months later, they're doing what? They're closing deals. They've built their confidence and they're still building it. They're changing their family's future, they probably already did. And here's the key, it has nothing to do with them being special or luckier than you. It's because they stayed in the game and they locked arms with us, period. That's the secret nobody wants to hear because it's not flashy. It's just consistency. I didn't say anything about motivation, I didn't say anything about talent. I didn't say anything about luck. Nope. I said consistency. See, most people quit too early. So many people, so many people, me included in my younger years. They sort of judge the movie, if you will, halfway through, and they abandon the whole process before the results have time to percolate and show up. So really what's going on is they mismanage their expectations Because of, in my opinion, all the crap going on right now incorrectly, all the fluff, all the empty promises on social media. It's crazy right now. And then they wonder why nothing's changed. Well, because it's not supposed to overnight like they told you it was on social media. That's crazy. Think about this. The next 12 months are going to pass whether you do anything or not. This is another interesting gut check, right? Interesting, huh? Think about it. A year from now is coming, whether you change or not, it's coming. The only question will be the last 12 months, did it go by fast? Who will you be when it gets here? Will you still be talking about your goals? Or much better, will you actually be living them and stacking them? Will you be waiting, or would you have already built some momentum so you're like, wow, I'm not even on the same planet as 12 months ago? Will you still be prepping or will you have transformed your life, literally? And the key here is it's your choice. Literally, it's your choice and it's a blink away. 12 months is a blink away. And it's a choice you make every single day already, whether you consciously know it or not. So it goes like this, like one action at a time stacked, one decision at a time stacked upon each other, one commitment at a time, could be little. The next 12 months could change everything, but only if and when you do. Simple but effective, right? I had a guy on my podcast recently, we got talking about this, kind of how we can be more effective, how we can move faster. You know what he said? Chris, it's simple. Just get in a different room. Meaning proximity and association, right? Just get in a different room. That's why we run our Deal Labs. You come hang out with us and you hang out with other people. If you're serious about making the next 12 months then, Different from the last 12 months, put yourself in a different room. There you go. How? Join us at 3 Paydays Live. It's our yearly big event.
