"I just can't do this" vs. $8M Closer

Christian Polk coaches a prospect who says he can't afford a $15,000 program. Polk uses a staircase metaphor to break down the overwhelm, then separates the prospect's "boss voice" from his self-sabotaging voice, asking which one he wants to listen to. The technique pushes past the initial no toward commitment.

So the investment to go ahead and move forward is going to be $15,000.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I can't do this. I just wasted all your time.
It's okay. You didn't waste anyone's time. I'm here to help, dude. What's coming up for you? What's going on?
I'm just not cut out for this. I don't know if I can do this. I get it, man.
Like, right now, what's happening is we're at a bottom of a staircase and we're looking up at like 1,000 steps. That's a bit daunting. But what's the only way we're going to get to the top of the staircase? Just one step at a time. And if we try to think too much about it, like, all we're going to do is psych ourselves out. So help me understand, man. Like, what What's making you hesitant about taking that first step up the staircase?
Part of me thinks I just can't do it yet. I'm not ready to make this work.
What do you mean by that? Like when you say like, do it yet, like what's coming up for you, dude?
I just feel like something's telling me I'm going to invest this money and I will just stop popping the calls and I'll just put stuff between this and I just feel like something has to win.
Do you know what that something sounds like? Just from an outsider's perspective? What would you say? Sounds like your old self, dude. Your old self that's kind of kept you stuck where you have been for the past 2 years. Do you feel like that old self, like those are some of the things that he would say? Like, hey, you're not you're not going to perform, you're not going to like actually follow through. It does. So the question is not whether or whether or not the program will work for you. Like, we know the program will work. It'll work. It'll work for you. People after you. Right now we're just deciding like what voice we're going to listen to because we always have like two competing voices, like the old version of ourselves that tells you not to do things. Like, I know for me, I call mine the voice. It's always in your ear. But then we have the other voice, the boss voice that tells you like, you should go ahead and do this because like, I want something different. What voice would you rather listen to right now?
The boss voice.
And when you were talking about listening to the boss voice, if you had to like sit and actually think about it, what is that boss voice telling you to do right now? Just do it. Do something about this. Why is he saying to go ahead and do it and do something? Why do you think?
Like you said, it's not doing the same thing over and over again. That's the definition of like, oh, I'm insane.
Kudos to you, because what happens is in life, whatever voice you listen to, it's just going to get louder, louder, and louder. And most people, they've listened to that voice, their old self, for so long they don't even hear the boss voice anymore. And the fact that you still hear it, so you still have a chance to start listening to it, to make louder. So if we take a look at what we want to do right now, like, what voice do we want to make louder? The bitch voice or the boss voice? Boss voice. Why?
Voice doesn't get me what I want.
If you keep listening to the bitch voice for the rest of your life, what are you actually going to run into? Like, what are the consequences of that going to be? I'll be a bitch. Is that something you're okay with?
No.
So what do we have to do, man?
I got to be the boss. Send me the payment link, please.
