"I'll finish this other program first." vs. $8m Closer

Christian Polk coaches a prospect through objections about finishing another program first. Polk uses the G-League vs. NBA analogy and "pressure makes diamonds" to argue that staying in the same mindset wastes time. The prospect commits to the $10,000 program after affirming they want to become a diamond.

is going to be $10,000.
I'm finishing this other coaching program in a few weeks. It just makes more sense for me to just finish that first.
If you're already in another coaching program, why are you sitting here chatting with me rather than being on a coaching call with your coach or going over the stuff that they've given you?
I just want to think ahead, you know, like I want to see how to advance my skill set. I feel like I maximize that.
But why do you feel like there's something missing, man, like with what you have there? Like, why do you feel like there's more steps to it?
Something else I can learn from them, you know. You obviously have the track record.
We're already at the point where there's nothing else we can learn, what benefit does it do for you of spending a few more weeks in that same mentality, in that same reality, if we know we're not going to learn anything for the next 2 weeks?
I can't think of a good answer to that.
I think we can both agree, like, it doesn't help us. It's like you watch basketball, like, right now you're in the G-League and you're getting called up to go into the NBA, and you're like, no, let me just stay in the G-League for a little bit longer. Let me see if I can just continue to not progress in the G-League. So it just comes down to, for you, do you want to be in a position where we're not progressing, or do we actually want to learn and progress?
Learn progress.
Why though?
I'm not growing.
Anything else that is really putting you between like learning and growing, everything else is just basically finding time. All you're really doing is telling yourself that it's like, hey, I'm willing to sacrifice 2 weeks, 2 months. Some people even sacrifice years of my time to just stay where I'm at. That's okay. So for you, are you okay telling yourself like you can sacrifice your time?
No, of course not.
So if you're not okay, like, sacrificing your time, man, like, why would we sit here and say like, hey, let's do this in 2 weeks?
I want to put some space between it. It's a lot of pressure.
Pressure makes diamonds, bro. So it comes down to, do we want to become a diamond? Do we want to become valuable? Do you want to go all in? Or do we want to let the pressure off of ourselves?
I need to do something, become a diamond.
Well, when it comes to like doing something, we got to be very specific on what we need to do. Like, cuz you're doing something right now. Like, what do you need to do to make sure you become the best version of yourself?
I got to invest.
So if you got an investment, the next steps are pretty simple. Get you started. That way we don't put distance in between us and actually getting our goals, and then we go ahead and we get better. Does that work?
Yeah, that works.
If that works, just need a little bit of info from you and then go ahead and get started.
