"Show me testimonials" vs. $8m Closer

Christian Polk pitches an $8,000 investment program to a skeptical prospect who demands proof. He cites three clients: Bruno went from $30K to $80K, Jax from $6K to $45K, and Keenan from $4K-$5K to over $60K monthly. Polk argues the real barrier isn't evidence but the prospect's belief system and fear of discomfort.

Yeah. So the investment is going to be $8,000.
Show me a testimonial. I don't believe they're making that much money.
You're a little demanding over there, right? Calm down. We can go over some testimonials if it'll help. If you want, like, we could take a look at Bruno, who went from making $30K to $80K. We can take a look at Jax, who went from making $6K to $45K, or we can take a look at Keenan, who was making $4K to $5K and now he's making above $60K per month.
I guess you could look at all of them. I don't know, man. I don't believe you. I don't know why.
Okay, well, what's behind that, man? Is it my face? Some people say it's my face.
No, it's like I don't know, man. I just don't think I can do that for some reason.
It kind of reminds me of saying that, like, it seems too good to be true, right?
Yeah.
When you think about that saying, dude, people who say things like that, do you feel like those people are happy, make a lot of money, really wealthy? Or the people who typically say things like that and believe things like that, these are the type of people who are not making the money they want to be making and they're just not living the type of lives they want to be living. What type of person do you feel like says things like that and believes things like that?
They're not making what they want to make.
So why would you adopt a belief system of people who are not making the type of money they want to be making and they're not really where they want to be in life. Why would you adopt that belief system?
I couldn't give an answer.
It's a hard answer to give. Yeah, I do care. Because it comes down to if you believe like them, what results are you generally going to get?
I'm going to get the same results.
Is there anyone like aspirational that you look up to personally?
Kobe Bryant.
Okay. Kobe Bryant. So do you feel like if Kobe Bryant, like he was 18 years old when he got drafted, do you feel like if he was 16 years old and he was saying like, dude, going to the NBA, like being an NBA star, that's too good to be true. That's not for somebody like me. Do you feel like you would even know his name?
No.
What mentality do we actually have to start to adopt for ourselves to make sure we can make a change and we can actually start getting the results we're looking to be getting?
More positive, more courage.
Why courage?
It's just a lot of fear and uncertainty behind what I'm about to do. I wish it'd go away.
Well, it's like, dude, there's only one way to have that go away, and that's to go through. The only way to win is to go through that feeling. You're never going to get rid of it. So you can choose the uncomfort of you staying the same, or you can choose the uncomfort of you changing. We're not getting out of uncomfort in this situation. So which one are you choosing?
Whatever makes me change. Whatever changes all this.
So what do we need to do to make sure we actually get out of our comfort zone, we actually change?
Okay, so I'm gonna have to try to take bad from this. That's good.
