Christie Renee Hawkins introduces art journaling as a playful way to break through creative blocks. Each journal page becomes its own small artwork that tells a story, using mixed-media pads to experiment without the pressure of strict tutorials.
I thought this would be fun to start our year off with some art journaling. It's really good, um, if you feel stuck and you feel like you don't know what you want to create, um, or maybe you don't feel like following a tutorial and you just want to sit down and play, play like a kid, right? So that is kind of what art journaling is. We have used our mixed media pad in the past for practice. Um, you can do full paintings in there. So an art journal is like that, but a little bit more. It's almost like Each page tells story. Each page of my art journal is going to be kind of like its own little piece of art.
